You sir are a hero . The work you’re doing on your bike is like the work that I also would like to be doing on my v strom. However, I rebuilt an entire top end on a cbf125 during pandemic lockdown and pretty much had my fill doing that. An important lesson I also learned, sometimes the simplest jobs can turn into a nightmare. Hence why, I now only do routine jobs like oil and filter changes and leave the rest to mechanics.
Thanks for posting. I have an ‘06 650 Vstrom and will be checking the valves this year. Question, you mentioned a camping bike trip through AZ and some other SW states. Are poisonous snakes and other critters (not turtles) a concern for you? I’m assuming you might be in northern AZ or NM? Where are you located and what time of year was this video shot? I’m retired in the NE, and I’m looking into getting a small house somewhere in the SW for the winter months. I’m actually far more into cycling (bicycles) these days, and have been considering Tucson, but the summer temps are kinda scary to a guy from NY. Would love to get your thoughts on the SW?
I live in the Phoenix metro area and love moto-camping all over the Southwest. I did this video in April of 2021 as I prepared to take an 8-day trip. Unfortunately I crashed on the first day and spent the next few in the hospital pretty banged up. As far as critters like snakes, etc., I've found that there are all kinds of wildlife wherever you go. It's just a matter of enjoying the outdoors, but respect it. It does get hot in the summers here in the southern part of Arizona, but the northern half is at a higher altitude with mountains and cooler temperatures. I like to think of the summer here like Northeasterners think of the winter - you just don't go out much if you don't have to. You stay indoors where there is climate control! Otherwise we have 8-1/2 months of springtime.
@@jbhunsaker sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you’re ok now. Thanks for the AZ info. I’ll be down in March for a few days to do some recon. As I mentioned, cycling is my main focus, but I’m very interested in exploring AZ backcountry dirt roads on a lightweight dual sport bike (not my 650 Vstrom). If it’s not too much of an imposition, I’d love to pick your brain a bit about pros/cons of AZ locations. I’m interested in the area of transition from the northern plateau to the southern valley of Phoenix and Tucson. The more I look at AZ, the more interesting it gets. Take care.
@@richardwhitehead4684 I'm really not the guy to ask about riding locations. There is a facebook group called Arizona Dual Sport Riders that can give you great info. Cheers!
Nice video and beautiful turtle supervisor. Regarding your measurement values writen on the papper: I have a feeling that you meant 0.16mm and rest . Also you keep saying "point '' something but you show 1 point something on the paper for example... It is a bit confusing ...
Adrian, you are correct. What I wrote and what I said are confusing. Sorry about that. When I wrote the actual values down on the paper, I put the decimal point in the wrong position. It should be moved one space to the left, so the intake valves measured at 0.16 instead of the 1.6 that I wrote. Likewise the exhausts were 0.25 and 0.26 respectively. Thanks for catching this!

Ciao complimenti per il tuo lavoro.

I no longer have this bike, so I don't know.
