Nice job on the video. Enjoyed part 1 & 2 so far. I've recently purchased a 06 V Strom 650. Great bike really liking it. Thanks for the detailed video. May GOD BLESS YOU Even more than He already has...

With low torque setting like these I tend to use a torque wrench that is much smaller. That torque wrench is probably capable of 100 ft lb torque setting or higher. Torque wrenches are something that need calibration every few years and using one designed for high torque setting often can give you erroneous readings at small settings. Something worth considering...the fasteners in aluminum are too easy to strip.
Timesheets aren't as widely used but for high strength applications they are preferred by many. Not that you could find a timesheet unless probably going to a bolt and screw/fastener supplier or ordering online...
Glad you could fix it and it worked out.
The dreaded Previous Owner or previous mechanic. Sometimes it can be our own issues.

Hi! I understand what you are saying, and you are right that larger torque wrenches can be inaccurate in the lower ranges. But I had very little pull on it when the bolt continued to turn. Just a minor setback, but it is better now than it was before!

@@jbhunsaker yeah, we deal with these things...likely as you said...partially messed up by the PO over torquing it. But your torque wrench is really too big for the job of torquing small fasteners. Look up Project Farm on UA-cam. He did a testing video on torque wrenches. Very enlightening and shows you that just because a company makes a torque wrench and claims anything won't make it so... Even when you spend the money on a moderately priced torque wrench you may not be getting what you think you are getting.
You may have had very little pull but you are using an 18 inch long lever to do that pull. A torque wrench for small torque settings and ranges Never needs a wrench that long.
Turning a bolt 1 flat of a hex from where it stops to be snug...being easy to screw down is usually 16 ft lbs of force.
