In this video I install the brake master cylinder brace on my 1966 Mustang Fastback. This brace is designed to eliminate the flexing of the firewall under hard braking situations, and puts all the braking force into the brake system instead of losing some of it to the firewall flexing.
The car is a 1966 Mustang Fastback with a 347 Stroker and T5 transmission.
Shot with GoPro Hero 9 with the Media Mod, edited on Davinci Resolve 17.

I have the same master cylinder on my 1965 mustang!! Great piece of equipment!! Thanks for the videos!!
You bet!
Great content Andy! I just recently bought your Shelby drop template and drill bit for 68/69 and done the mod on my 68 ford fairlane/Torino fastback and worked perfect, great product, will be giving you a shout out as well once I post my video on my channel. Keep up the great work.
That is awesome!
@@AndyKruseChannel thanks.
Another awesome well thought out design by Kruse! I finally got your Monte Carlo bar in after replacing that bad fuel pump!!
Slow and steady wins the race. :)
Very cool design. Nice seeing something that is quality built and easy to install!
We agree!
I need to get access to '67+ chassis so I can make one for your ride! :)
I just bought one of these bad Larry’s last week! Can’t wait to put it on my 65.
Nice.
Looks great 👍
Thanks 👍
Great idea Andy!!!! Nice work!!!!
Thanks 👍
I’ve owned a ‘66 Mustang for almost 30 years, and never heard of this idea before…nice!
Please explain some more. This is designed to specifically reduce/prevent firewall flex when applying pressure to the brake pedal? Or, is it for additional stiffening of the unibody? If the latter, do you also have a design for the passenger side?
This will reduce the flexing of the firewall in braking scenarios, more specifically under hard braking, where you want all the pressure to go towards making the brakes stop the car and NOT towards the master cylinder moving.
This is not a new product concept in that I was doing this stuff 30 years ago with other performance cars, and it wasn't new then either. However, there isn't much on the market for this type of product in these types of cars. This kind of thing is often found in racing applications, but usually in the form of more rigidity with additional bracing and additional bracketry. My product is meant to do as advertised without breaking the bank nor requiring modification that people are unprepared or not willing to do (like full race applications). :)
Andy can I sign up to be on a mailing list when you have this available for 67/68?
Checking out your site now!
I want to make one for the 67-70, but I need a car to take measurements from to design the brace. If someone lived near by and wanted to work out a deal..... :)
@@AndyKruseChannel I’m in MD (long way from you and loved being stationed in WA) but can take any measurements you may need to help!
Heads up, I am hoping to have the 67-70 kit available around the 15th of June. :)
Where in WA are you located?
That's a great kit. Looking forward to the 67 kit
That’s awesome, did you have to adjust your brake pedal push rod after the install?
I did, but only a tiny bit. I'm kind of OCD on my pedal placement, so it bothered me that the clutch and brake pedal were not in the exact same spot. I imagine most people won't notice or care. :)
What about when we have the modern driveline clutch cable bracket there already?
It will still work, but you may need longer bolts (the 4 large bolts that secure the pedal assembly and MC to the firewall). :)
@@AndyKruseChannel ok thank you
Where did you get those fancy thumb screws holding the MC cover on?
From the store. I plan to sell them on my site soon, because just buying 4 is not worth it, it's too expensive just buy 4. :)
