Soundwave has always been my favorite Decepticon. I definitely prefer this one over the dramatic capture since the colors are more consistent and the white on his face really pops and looks cool. It also helps that as far as joint tolerances, they felt better on this copy than that one.
As happy as I am to see Buzzsaw, Hasbro is being rather devious in that you can't get a matching Buzzsaw and Laserbeak without buying two Soundwaves. While it's easy to pick up an individually sold SS86 Frenzy to match this set's Rumble, the only Laserbeak that isn't packed with an entire Soundwave is the Siege version with the Cybertronian head.
Was actually pretty happy to get this re release to replace my Netflix Soundwave, the yellowing on the gray plastic on the legs and arms got pretty bad
How many kids out there do you think had to look up on the internet what Soundwave and his minions turn into, because they had no idea what a cassette recorder is?
I was born in 2000 and I grew up with a few cassette recorders cuz my dad has a few recorders/players with sound systems to go with em and he owns a LOT of New Wave and other 80s and 90s cassettes
I just got this on the couple of days ago. My 2nd soundwave but actually transform into a boom box and cassettes. I have Frenzy to match now I need laserbeak.
Hardcore Buzzsaw fan here. Got it and sold the rest for almost what I paid to someone who missed this Soundwave originally and didn’t care about having BUzzsaw, so it all worked out.
I got this one for Buzzsaw & the color tone of Rumble since I wasn't a fan of the SS86 coloring for him. I have all the previous Soundwaves from this mold, and this one is for sure the best overall due to the coloration being most uniform. The Dramatic Capture one is really impressive in bot mode with his silver paint, but there is some color clash for that one in alt-mode, which is something this new one avoids.
Thought Rumble would just be a double for my SS G1 Rumble, turned out to be... superior. Buzzsaw is a nice bonus and callout to the original Soundwave package, too.
I was lucky enough to get the Netflix one when it came out but it has unfortunately severely yellowed so I will be getting this one as a replacement, but it’ll definitely be nice to finally have buzzsaw, and I like this pack’s colors on rumble compared to the bright ss86 versions
I never picked up the Netflix version, so I was psyched to get this one. On my copy, the Decepticon symbol on Soundwave’s chest is slightly off center and it drives me kinda crazy, but other than that, I really enjoy this mold.
I sold my Netflix Soundwave when it was going for crazy money, and I picked up this release for less than half of what I got for Netflix. It worked out well, especially since I've always preferred Buzzsaw over Laserbeak, and I prefer the darker blue on Rumbzy in this release. I'm a G1 toy guy-the cartoon didn't come in on our antenna. Anyways, I tell myself this time helped offset the many, many other times I've waited and had to buy high on the secondary market myself.😅 All told, I think it's a great release, and I even saw it very briefly on sale on Amazon for $50 and change in the States earlier today. It's sold out for now though, but I'd recommend keeping an eye out for Black Friday sales if you want this guy.
I’m tempted to get this so I can swap the heads with the siege figure, it’d be a nice stand in for a origin sound wave and the yellow eyes would look better for this g1 toy color look they were going for. Plus it would differentiate it further from the Netflix figure
Good to see they went with the SS version of Frenzy instead of the Siege version. Sad they didn't include Rumble too, instead of a 3rd version of Ravage.
If there’s one thing I’ll compliment this figure for, at least it won’t yellow fast like the Netflix one. That’s about the only compliment I can give it though
I got my Legacy Soundwave on the Walmart app and honestly I'm really glad I got him he's an amazing replacement Im going to get my discolored Netflix wave painted up into Soundblaster soon!
This Rumble looks like toy color Frenzy, also Netflix Soundwave parts have yellowed on some, it has on mine, another reason I got the Legacy version.....and yes it was also for Buzzsaw, no regrets

Than they release an updated soundwave to match the height of Blaster with these cassettes again. And I am having the same issue cause already have the netflix soundwave.
Huh, I hadn't realised before, but that cassette mold looks a lot more like a pretool for Ramhornm than it ever looked like Ravage. Way too chunky for the nightkitty, except in the lower legs.

Wasn't there a Soundwave figure released a while back with a cassette chamber that the back was spring loaded so it could compress and allow for multiple cassette bots to store inside at once I think it could hold three at the same time?
I'm actually kinda upset we got buzz saw instead of Lazer beak considering we didn't see buzz saw till season 2 of the original series. (Yes I know he was the one originally packaged with sound wave
I honestly hate the neon yellow around the chest window on the Netflix version, so between that and getting the red stripes I think this deco is actually a big improvement
This Rumble is following the G1 toy colors vs the animation colors, which technically means it should be Frenzy, but that's splitting hairs. And looking at it it seems the Ravage is also sporting more G1-toy-accurate paint choices with the yellow eyes and the tape detailing. Still not sure why Hasbro doesn't use Classics Ravage as the template for modern G1 Ravage toys, it's still the best non-MP Ravage they've made. This is an easy pass for me, I'm curious if the eventual Studio Series Soundwave will finally get rid of all the Siege kibble on his forearms though.
I admit, I bought it mainly for Buzzsaw, but I actually do like the colors better than the Netflix version. As compared with the Dramatic Capture set, which I also got mainly for those versions of Megatron and Shockwave, that one is a bit shinier, but this one is my new main.
I noticed that Buzzsaw doesn’t have the laser guns on top of it back / there missing / also Laser beak doesn’t have them other / i like the light piping in the head eyes of SoundWave it looks cool
Is it just me or is Ravage looking more and more like a Wolf rather than a panther in his newer incarnations? Sometimes I wish they could go way back to the G1 forms for inspiration and use those style forms but with better more articulated joints. Or even try to use the Masterpiece designs but with a few less pints of articulation to save on costs. Sometimes new designs aren't necessarily better!
I cannot fathom why marketing decided to muddy the waters further by labeling this color scheme as Rumble instead of Frenzy as it had more or less always been before this.
I had to get him since I haven't had a soundwave since the 80s. He's ok? I thought the cassette player mode was wonky looking since he isn't so smooth. I think Blaster did it better sadly. I'm still happy to have one, but I think of looking for a mp version. Heard stories of people stealing buzzsaw from the box. My nieces got a kick out of it. One of them loves the bumblebee ravage so when she found out I got another one she got all excited lol.

Usually a shame that my local Walmart never updates it's stock in terms of both transformers and sonic figures as id love to buy this Soundwave figure but the chances of me finding one there is (in shockwave voice) highly illogical
That's my SS86, don't care about mismatch deco or wrist guns, it's perfect. I got G1 40th so I'm great there too. Don't know how much MissingLink would accomplish in updating him but that's the only one I'd have interest in. So I'm going to pass on SS86, even if they pack a fomo tape in. My Buzzsaw backpack broke off, but, meh. SS86 SW would have to really wow me, and that's without whatever cassette fomo is included. Like diecast or push buttons and working dials, fake headphone jack, a fake beats earbud case that turns into a new bot. Something different even if it had nothing to do with 86.
The new head on ravage is the one with the netflix one so its not actually new

I bought it for Buzzsaw and to have Soundwave in Alt mode, because I also bought the Nemesis Bridge set which also has Soundwave.

I use the grey rifle as a flight enabler. I plug it on Soundwave's back and Laserbeak is plug in it.

My incentive of getting this Soundwave was because all my Transformers were destroyed 2 years ago in a house fire.
