- Brad Jackson shows both Ariel Posen and Justin Weaver the new Jackson Audio BROKEN ARROW Dynamic Overdrive pedal in this informal roundtable discussion. Neither player had heard, seen or played the BROKEN ARROW before this video was taken.
Dear Jackson Audio,
Please add MIDI to this pedal. Ain't nobody got time to be making all those changes while you're onstage. If this had MIDI, and I could set a bunch of presets, I would sell all my other drive pedals and buy this. No hesitation. As it is though, I can't realistically utilize 90% of it's features in a live setting. It's cool, but impractical.
Agreed. Impractical live AT ALL, studio yes.
100% agree with this
I would bet midi is in the works... I have the prism and their Britain and Scarlett Amps. They sure make some good stuff at Jackson Ampworks & Jackson Audio
That'll happen for sure
Just came to post the same thing. I have a chase bliss brothers I’d gladly sell if this had midi. That and a Timmy and a blues breaker. This could cover all that if it had midi
So glad I bought this pedal yesterday, can't wait to go back home and play it for hours. Well done Jackson Audio, chapeau!
Why not midi?? 😭
This sounds awesome and I’ve just ordered mine!! I understand the points regarding midi but for me I’m a “tinker endlessly then leave it alone” kind of guy - and do more studio work than live so.... excited for this to arrive in my mailbox!
Why if i want to jump from 25% to 100% for a solo and then to 50% for the remainder of the song. Do i just try to cycle 5 times in a matter of seconds? Sounds good on paper but not practical.
Guitar's volume knob
Sir Danko Fernandez yes this. Plus the pedal reacts VERY well to volume
knob changes.

JACKSON AUDIO, add an edge of breaking up control to add in different types of breaking up characteristics like how tubes break up
Ariel’s tone is truly in his hands.
This reminds me a lot of the Matthews Architect V3, aside from the casing it looks nearly identical. I like the LEDs on this, the different modes are cool
This pedal looks amazing can’t wait to pick one up I don’t need midi so this will be perfect !
Is there a pedal for colour blind guy?
Yes, they play great. But man, this is so beautiful to watch.
This box has so many killer sounds in it. ALL of the rock is there!
Someone say MIDI one more time...
Rob MID DEE!
Tyler W 😡😡😡.... 😂
Please MIDI. As stated already. Just wanna say again please MIDI
Now that you have the midi version could you do a video explaining how to program it? I have it and can’t figure it out.
Just got the latest Broken Arrow, impressive piece of kit! But, I do have an issue with it and my p90 Les Paul, there's an unpleasant crackly buzz to the overdrive especially on the low notes, I've tried almost everything to get rid of it with the pedal EQ but it just isn't happening. Strangly it helps a bit if I cut the mids using the pedal EQ, but it's not really as smooth sounding using a differently voiced tubescreamer variant that I have (way huge green rhino) or my Greer light speed (with the same guitar). I'm confident this has to do with EQ needed pre-gain stage as well as post. I assume the pedal EQ is post gain stage? Is there a magic dip switch for dark sounding p90 guitars? pleeeeeease :)
I found this pedal really interesting but i also like to listen how it works on a different amp. I think that it could sound way better on a fender amp. Just my personal opinion. Great pedal anyway👍
I personally feel like I’d just set it and forget it but I totally agree with those that are suggesting midi functionality. Maybe you could make some sort of deluxe version of this pedal with preset bank switching?
So how would one get one of these sent their way to demo with various amps doing more of the higher gain rock stuff? Marshall Superlead/Jubilee, Splawn, Soldano, etc :D
What amp are they playing through?
Give the people what they want MIDI!

No Midi?
That's a very good idea!
Sounds incredible.
@@Utube-g3g My comment was about this video. I've never seen one in person, but these guys sound great. Maybe it's the player?
@@Utube-g3g How would I know how you play? I couldn't care less either. All I know is these guys in the video sound great, so the pedal sounds great when they use it. You're the one who ragged on me for saying the video sounds incredible. I had never heard of Jackson Audio before, so hero? I can't afford one? lol You're an idiot. Don't dish it out, if you can't take a rebuttal.
What Marshall is that?
I need a Metalzone built into this! Also, MIDI. MIDI MIDI MIDI. P.S. MIDI.
Buffered or true bypass
But why the thumbs down?
Plus no Midi
Mark Jackson how does it sound in person? I've seen a ton of people selling them
Mark Jackson Dang man.. that sucks
This is an overdrive pedal with more then enough options built in as it is. I’ve played with one of these live, it doesn’t need midi. It’s not an AxeFx. It’s just an OD pedal. Forget about midi. The pedal is made to turn on and enjoy, not scroll through options and program it to your grid/stems/session. Geeze guys. Give it a rest.
My favourite is the blue one .. suddenly i fall in love with belle star . Thank you jackson for making Good pedals .. you owned my money man .. hahaha 😁
Man, if this only had MIDI then maybe these guys and Joey Landreth would sound a bit better. And I'm still waiting for the Hendrix "True Bypass Remasters" too.
So that midi thing happened pretty face
Just a suggestion, maybe change the casing on the pedal- it’s cool but visually looks a bit plain like a hobbyist’s DIY pedal. Great pedal though, add midi presets and you’re good
Funny, I like the simplicity. Makes it look serious to me. No frills or silliness as some other pedals. But, changing through the settings live seems quite "slow" and cumbersome.
Wasn’t the Prism their 1st od pedal?
The Prism is technically a boost
Nice, but that's a lot of combinations... I'm not sure that it's gonna work fine in a live situation. I tend to prefer a simpler configuration and play with the pickup toggle switch, volume and tone pots to get different OD dynamics.
I would buy this immediately if it had MIDI #sadface
