There’s another video out there where Robert plant talks about meeting Elvis, you get to hear Elvis say Led Zeppelin on stage which makes it worth watching

This Letterman show was made around the time of The Kennedy Center Honors program where Heart performed Stairway to Heaven. David Letterman was honored on the same night so he was sitting right beside the Zeppelin guys for that Epic performance.

    That was a gem!
    Had not seen it before!
Yeah, there wasn't much about Elvis but it was incredibly fun to listen to.
When he mentioned about they had his birthday wrong that was for the background check to be in the same room much less meet the President.
One off the best bands and always will be!
They all have a great sense of humor!
    Great choice for a reaction!😊

Led Zep - best band ever! If you haven't seen the full version of the Kennedy Center Honors, you must! Not only did they play several LZ songs, they also surprised the band with Jason Bonham playing the last song, Stairway. One of the other artists being honored at the same time was Buddy Guy, a blues legend who inspired LZ so they were honored at the same time as their own influence! So cool. I have seen this interview many times and it's always fun to see the band again.

thanks so much for reacting to this interview. It would be great to react to Jack Black's intro for Led Zeppelin for the Kennedy Center Honors. The whole intro where they show the footage of Zeppelin and the hilarious monologue he gives introducing them. It's obvious he loves Zeppelin.

Really enjoyed this. Loved John Paul's humor. Letterman was a great talk show host but I still enjoy your British talk shows more. Graham Norton Show introduced me to so many fantastic British comedians and actors. The USA doesn't allow the same freedom or "off the cuff" interviews. Everyone too afraid of being "cancelled". But I love you guys and appreciate your uploads immensely. Peace✌

Letterman/Lily Savage/Paul O'Grady?? 😂😂😂 Not really seeing that myself, but I sort of get what you mean 😁
'There was a lot of chicks'. Yep, I bet there was! Also, Vikings+sex+hobbits= Jack Black is a legend 😅

If people really knew what goes on in rock bands, there would be no rock & roll hall of fame and all these dudes would be arrested for statutory rape at a minimum. Got to love it! Rock on!

Something was cut out of this video. They told a whole story about them meeting Elvis and him inviting them back stage and what it was like. They said the were scared of him 😂. I don’t know why that part was cut out of the video.

I don't understand why this band is so popular. If I want heavy music I find Led Zeppelins guitar tone to be too thin , scratchy and cold sounding. There is no real distinctive "tone" I associate with Led Zep, unlike with bands like Van Halen, Black Sabbath or Queen. Jimmy Page is a decent guitarist, if sloppy, but so what, there weren't too many good guitarists around in the late 60s so you were bound to stand out. Even in a band as derided by snobs as KiSS I'd pick Ace Frehleys playing over Page. Nowadays I would rate at least a hundred guitarists above him. Robert Plant lost his voice only a few albums into their career, meaning over half of his performances are hoarse barks. He's doing bluesy screaming, again so what. Far from being the first or even the best. His voice is quite feminine, and there were a lot of great female blues/ soul singers who sound more powerful than him. Plus his English accent sometimes slips into his singing, making his bluesy singing a lot less authentic sounding. And they did a considerable number of hippy type acoustic folky stuff. Well, some people don't like rap, some don't like string quartets, some don't like country and western and I don't like acoustic folk songs. Including Stairway To Heaven. John Bonham, a powerful drummer albeit one dimensional, but how many people listen to a band for the drums? Live albums from the 70s were infamous for their lengthy boring drum solos which nearly everyone skipped.
Plus of course their copious plagiarism. Some of their songs are blatant stealing, like Black Mountain Side and Bron Y Aur Stomp, and some are them doing reworked versions of other peoples songs, like Dazed and Confused and .......well, virtually the rest of their first four albums.
