Thank you SO much for this video. Choosing a paint color has always been the most difficult thing for me. I struggle with "seeing" the undertones and then knowing what undertone I need once I do finally see them. This video is, by far, the most informative video I've watched on HOW to see, sample and choose a paint neutral paint color (and I've watched a lot .. lol). Keep up the good work.
I was waiting for that drop at the end “HC-172 Revere Pewter” 😊 Seeing people putting this colour on top, simply satisfying my selection of this colour more and more, now i can confirm this one for the house with a big relief 😅. I just go online everywhere to see people praising this colour.
Can you please advise can i paint all the roof with “L146 sonnet” asian paints and walls with revere pewter ? Does both go well together? These two are my favourite Thanks heaps
Hello, thank you for the informative video. What color might you suggest for an all over wall color (hallways, great room etc) to go with Simply White cabinets and trim? Its a new build so I don't have the rest of my furniture picked out yet . Thanks in advance for any advice!
Simply White is pretty easy to work with, so your options are wide open. I'd start thinking about the color palette you prefer. I see many people put in cool gray walls and then have warmer-toned furniture, which doesn't work. If you prefer to decorate with cool tones look at grays with blue or blue-green undertones. If you prefer to decorate with warmer tones, look at grays with green undertones. You might find you don't need to be in the gray family at all, but rather the taupe or beige family. I'm leaving a few posts below that you might find helpful: homelikeyoumeanit.com/the-best-gray-paint-colors-for-your-home/ homelikeyoumeanit.com/beige-paint-colors-you-need-to-know-about/ homelikeyoumeanit.com/the-6-easiest-to-work-with-taupe-paint-colors/
Any advice for someone about to paint their whole home new house build? Using Coretec golden oak flooring, Black and walnut cabinets with Meta Stellaris silk quartzite. 12' ceilings with southern facing windows for all of the main living areas
I would sample Swiss Coffee, Classic Gray and Edgecomb Gray against your countertop and see how it looks. If any of those are the right neutral for your countertop, make sure to take the paint sample into the stores when choosing neutral furniture, because you'll want your paint undertone to match your neutral furniture.
I have a large good lighting bedroom and just bought a beautiful cream/beige wood bedroom set. Please advise on neutral color for my wall. I overwhelmed. Help!
Hi Cindy, it's so hard to suggest without analyzing the neutrals in your space. I do offer virtual consultations and you can check those out here: homelikeyoumeanit.com/hire-me/
Hi, my ceilings are grey concrete and my floors are light wood, I'm wanting a japandi style decor, right now my walls are stark white which I'm not diggin too much . Could you suggest what kind of neutral I could use on my walls , I'm at a loss here 😊 thanks so much!
If your ceilings are gray concrete, I'd suggest a warm grey with a green undertone. Check out this post and jump to the section of greys with green undertones. homelikeyoumeanit.com/the-best-gray-paint-colors-for-your-home/
I am a bit confused after reading off- whites. My bottom kitchen cabinets are going to be mahogany coloured ( brown with red). I thought I read don't do off-whites do creams but went to creams and I thought I read the same thing ( brown red not a good combo). The intention is white top cabinets. Counters are a subtle white with gray and brown marbling and floors are definitely warm gold. Love your sample offers by the way just trying to figure out which ones to choose and how long it will take to Canada?
I think you could try off whites, but go with a very soft one, as it sounds like your counters are a very warm white. To my knowledge samplize ships very quickly to Canada. Perhaps try alabaster, cloud white and cloud cover.
Do you have a video of colors that work with cherry wood? We tried green- it made the wood look hot pink! Our floors are orange oak. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ We’re at a loss. The taupes look weird with the orange floor. Greiges bring out the pink in the cherry cabinets and paneling.

When I changed the temp & hue of light bulbs in my darker painted room, it changed the paint color lighter & I loved it.
Super helpful! What’s the first and last color on the board (towards end of video) please? Don’t like the middle 2 colors as much. Thank you so much!
Try gray mist and either agreeable gray or edgecomb gray

Which greige do you like for a bedroom with a black and white bathroom?
If you have no other bossy fixed elements, go with a greige with a green undertone, like BM Classic Gray, Gray Mist, etc.

Blues actually look really good with cherry cabinets! Also, perhaps try a very pale greige like SW oyster white.
