Its not cheap laying on an open day, so a big thanks to the SL Shop for opening their doors and letting us have a closer look at these dream cars.

Great day, lovely to see you, Anastasia and Grace again. And proud to have played a (very) minor, supporting role with the car that I bought after getting addicted to your channel! Cheers Justin

...yes addiction can be an expensive habit especially when Mercedes is involved.

I always get a bit jealous when I see all those SL's in such lovely condition...and then compare them to my own! Mike

A great selection of cars there Mike. Did you learn who is making the individual throttle bodies you showed on the SLC? I’ve kind of had it with djet and a chance to use something different would be very welcome not to mention looked amazing

No I didn't ask that question but the set up in that 450SLC looked awesome.
Whats going on with your Djet? I'm just waiting to get my injectors back from Mr Injector...then it will be time to test the ECU and see if that old 280sl actually runs. Mike

@@MikesMercsandothercarsbiggest issue is parts availability and Mercedes and Bosch seeming to have ended production of a lot of stuff. So mine was not running right. I had the chains replaced (needed doing anyway and timing was quite some way out but I bottled doing that myself) but it still seemed a lot off feeling like it was misfiring. It was much much better after replacing the air intake and coolant water temp sensors but they were really hard to find new. The uspicion is that the MAP sensor has been messed with in the past, I can see it has, and I don’t know if you have seen the price of those of you can find one but off the charts plus it needs an air slide air intake valve (again £800 if you can find one) and possibly the distributor trigger poins (£650 just for the trigger points). Or it could be the ECU! It is a lot better after the sensors were replaced and certainly it is obvious that the MAP sensor has been fiddled with so it is likely to be bad. It now runs very smoothly but it is not quite as it should be I am told. Good luck! Mr injector did my injectors, this all started as replacing worn out fuel hoses for me but while I was there…

@@jonnybigpotato4263 Ah yes...I know this feeling. The only difference being, that the car I am working on has yet to start! I think that over the years, these problems accumulate and previous owners just put up with things not quite running as they should. Then you or I come along and end up spending 20 years of money....I cant remember where you are based but let me know if you ever need any assistance sourcing things from the UK. Mike

Thanks Mike. I don’t know what anyone would have done before the internet and if you happen to have someone who will receive stuff for you in France or Germany (as I and I know you do) things become a bit easier but it’s the things you don’t know that you don’t know. German eBay is great for mercedes as I’m sure you know but used parts always come at a risk
