I myself am guilty of "scared to be stranded" as last time I drove it ,it left me stranded, pretty sure everything is fixed now, but truly it's still on the trailer (month and a half at least)

I drove my fox 6hrs each way to the lmr event this year. Guy’s need to start driving their cars and enjoying them more.

The retro fox is probably the most rowdy of the two. But the Carbon Fox is just so much fun.
@@BREW2LFOXBODY I was curious which one was the fastest, Im fixing to do a cam swap in Beans which should pep him up a lil more and he will sound even rowdier than he does now. Its a 108 lsa 252@50 duration and .625 lift lunati cam. Its supposed to be a really strong power maker according to everyone I've talked to that's ran it
I've found that supercharged cars are better with 3.73 or 3.55 gears. 4.10 or 4.56 gears are best suited for NA applications. Gaining RPMs, through the gears, takes longer giving your boost a better opportunity to increase power with fewer gear changes. More top end speed can be found on the highway, as compared to a supercharged 4.10 gear set up, using 3.73 & 3.55 gears too. Great video as always. 👍
I agree 100 % on the street unless the car dead hooks then I prefer the 4.10

I still do not have the confidence to drive it over 10 miles, and have the Tow Truck number in my phone at all times. That Sux. Thanks for sharing and cheers from Motown/Dearborn.

I love boost as much as the next guy but a good running NA build is equally as fun. Just in different ways

The closing thoughts about fixing those little quirks cannot be stated enough. I've been working through a belt alignment on my foxbody as well and I can't tell if its the parts store tensioner or something else. Awesome video, and this reaffirms that I need to decide on a blower setup and pull the trigger for my 306!

Same set up as you. I had to add a spacer to the idler pulley as well. I did that when installing and I haven't had any belt issues. I opted to keep the fan clutch and used a SSP one. Fit with 10 rib set up.

Love that car! I’ve had a rattle in my exhaust for over a year now and thought it was actually the separator plate between the engine and trans. Well found out it was a header bolt that had backed out and fell between the collectors at the very bottom. Never would’ve known it if I wasn’t fixing a crack in my x pipe. Had it loose and was welding it up. I went and was snacking the headers and the driver side rattled like crazy, it never would do it when the x pipe was bolted up to it, go figure. Got my bore scope with a magnet and fished that bolt out of there. Man it is so much better to drive now with the leak fixed and rattle gone. It just sounds so much better with the cam hitting! Can’t wait to get my end of year bonus so I can get me some cylinder heads and put me a 4 barrel on it, then the spray 😂. It’s gonna be a blast.
Had exactly same problem with belt slipping off from tensioner to AC. Found out putting 2 washers on the waterpump stud to the tensioner fixed it. I have the same exact t-trim with same exact brackets. Also get a gates green belt for the blower, the black one will shred its self
I can’t find a gates in the length I need.

Totally true, no more true if it's a daily driver and those nagging problems that you must address as sometimes

this thing revs up so fast you gotta have skills to not destroy it. I suspect it has a rev limiter built in , but still. i can always tell how fast a car is by how fast it revs up. and this only has a 3 speed with an overdrive. if it had more gears it would rev up quicker. its incredible. you gotta own a wheel barrow to carry your balls when you drive a car like this.
It’s a fun car for sure. Just needs some slicks next time 👌

Might look into trying an oetiker clamp for that hose if it becomes an issue again. Glad to see you were able to resolve that belt popping off deal. Great content as always sir!

Enjoy the Carbon fox b/c it's similar to my 2nd & a friends build. Could ziptie the drain on (gravity fed); bearing on smog delete may be bad but its replaceable.
It was zip tied before and was seeping around the zip tie. The bearing in the pulley is fine. It’s all aligned pretty good now.
Mannn I can’t even find what’s giving me a strong gas smell in my car?! lol but that’s just one of the issues on mine! 😅But Fixing the little things does make a huge difference. Glad you were able to fix the belt issue though!
Mine does too when it's hot....I have a feeling it the purge valve that attaches to the charcoal canister that isn't functioning because it always reeks there.
@@paulyiouvanoglou7138 I’ve replaced that one already. Still no difference! 😅 Any more possible ideas of what it could be? You should try it on yours though. Doesn’t hurt to replace specially if your car still has the same one for all them years. I figured why not?

Clamp clearance:
Use one of those heat SHRINK CLAMPS like people use on fuel lines, heater hoses, and radiator hoses. 🤔👍

I enjoy driving my carbureted car..not sure if I would enjoy a supercharged or turbo car as much.have a friend that went all crazy on his engine built a turbo car..blew up 3 engines and now he don't even drive it anymore.
That’s a very good topic for discussion. Sometimes it’s not about having 500-600hp. Sometimes it’s more about the feel a car gives up.
Boost don't necessarily mean unreliable it depends on how max effort it is. This applies with na too. The problem is guys do "race car" mods to their street car and wonder why reliability is down or why it isn't enjoyable to drive anymore.
Id love to get dyno numbers on it since nobody does that with AOD cars.
I’ve always wanted to an extreme head on a 302-306 and pick it up with a kenne bell . 240cc Hi-port with a mid 6 cam. 6500 shift at max boost.
Fix the little things he says😂 my car came with improperly mounted 2017 seats and center console and now the whole interior is gutted out of the car😂😂😂 the little things snowballed. Thankfully the wife missed today's LMR delivery 😊

Nice car! Do you have any problem with that ststem 2 top plentum hiting the stock hood? Mine clears when you shut but theres a groove in the intake from hood hitting. I guess from twisting on the street. I have the rpm 2 intake . Those rubber mounts must flex a lot, i run 28-11.5 et streets so it hooks in 2nd hard, probably doesn't help with the twist lol

Man I keep kicking around a supercharger. Seems like it moves out by watching your vids. Not sure if I’m going. N/A 331stroker-Nitrous-supercharger. Dan ( Neomustangs ) makes me want the on3 turbo. Lol. All y’all are the shyt. I just recently ran my fox in va down the 1/4 I went 13.27 104 fastest pass. 306 gt40 heads explorer intake 4.11’s. I spun ever time off the line best 60’ 2.0. 8.4 1/8. But I was having a little trouble with my air/fuel ratio. It kept leaning out on the big end. It’s got fresh 19’s @40psi bbl reg and 255lpr. So I recently did some reach and you can make a 19lb injector spit like a 24lb injector. 19’s call out for 38-40psi. But if you take your regulator to 63psi it’s the equivalent to 24lb. So I tried it but only went to 51psi and man my butt dyno (50tussin) I could feel lt and was grinning while I was sideways in second then it pulled hard in 3rd. So that blew me away I’m think I could get down to 12.9 the way it runs now totally impressed. I would think it would foul my plugs really quick but I’m going to see after a few runs up the road and pull the plugs. I’ve been waiting to see a track run from you and Andrew. No lie dude if you and neomustangs hooked up with 50tussin to make some track runs that would be on my bucket list 😮😂.. keep making fox videos man your awesome. 🤙🏻

I need help with alternator problem I have I've had the 130amp 99v6 mustang in my fox body electric radiator led headlight led tail light blower motor on my alternator can't keep up I go through about 4 alternator a year with turbo fox my battery in the rear u think the battery in the trunk of the car could be the problem I have add grounds I'm at a loss
