    Really great tips! I understand your knot issue especially with little kids who always seem to have a bunch of knots in their ropes. Kinda like a cool fad with them. This video provides a better understanding about the “strike”zone. This is an area often overlooked when considering rope size and sizing. I will use it going forward. Thank you for yet again an informative presentation. Keepem coming. Love the share.

    Hey:D I've been watching your videos and incorporating them. My main interest is jump rope dance aka jump rope shuffle, 'cause I've been doing shuffle for years:D I just got a beaded rope and was interested in 1. If it should be a bit longer, cause I do a lot of running man and charleston variations, and 2. when you say rope should be between the bottom of my ribcage and chest, does that include the handles, or just the rope:)
    Love your work, it makes me smile a lot :)

    I found a Crossrope style rope that you can adjust called Revolver jumprope company. Since I changed to something I can adjust, my jumping has gotten soooo much better.

    I am working on stringing together triples unders. One-offs are fairly easy for me at this point with either PVC or cable ropes but I can't seem to nail two of them back-to-back. Do you think this is mostly a rope length issue as you mentioned in the video? What are some other things I can try?

    • @ToriBoggsJumpRope
      @ToriBoggsJumpRope  Рік тому +1

      It's tough without seeing you do them - could be a rope factor or a technique point as well. Feel free to send me a video if you'd like me to take a look! Do you follow my IG snorib?

    I think you are right hey Tori I tried to do the switch cross move but it didn't turn out well maybe because I don't have a adjustable jump rope I am not sure I think I need a larger jump rope to me.🤔

      @ToriBoggsJumpRope  Рік тому

  • @redmictian

    Personally, I measure starting not from the handles, but when they end and actual rope begins. To eliminate the different handle length factor.

    • @ToriBoggsJumpRope
      @ToriBoggsJumpRope  Рік тому +1

      Yeah! That's also a benefit of using the range. If you are holding longer handles, your hands will sit farther from the beginning of the rope than with shorter handles - something to keep in mind!

  • @jimdamico4296
    @jimdamico4296 Рік тому +1

    I've noticed for doing releases it seems a slightly larger gap between the handle and where the beads start is beneficial - thoughts? Also, do you have any tips for getting a consistent aesthetically full arc when doing a release?

    • @ToriBoggsJumpRope
      @ToriBoggsJumpRope  Рік тому +1

      There definitely should be a gap. Tight beaded ropes don’t have flexibility. Depends on what “larger” means though. If there is such a gap that beads are now sliding, I personally find this tough because it can affect weight changes during the release of the beads are shifting too much

    • @ToriBoggsJumpRope
      @ToriBoggsJumpRope  Рік тому +2

      The full arc will depend on the timing of the release relative to the rope shape. This is really tough to explain over text! Consistency on those will be through loads of practice / trial and error though

    Starting out, should I go with 4mm or 5mm pvc? I also plan to get the beaded.

    • @ToriBoggsJumpRope
      @ToriBoggsJumpRope  Рік тому +1

      Good question - usually jumpers go from the beaded rope to the 5mm then to the 4mm. 5mm is a bit heavier than the 4 so it makes for an easier adjustment coming from a beaded rope. It can be preference too.

    Hi Tori. Please could you do a follow along jump rope workout like the last one but with other hand and rope skills rather than footwork like you did in the last one

    Really enjoy your stuff! Out of curiosity, why shouldn’t people put knots in their jump ropes?

    • @ToriBoggsJumpRope
      @ToriBoggsJumpRope  Рік тому +2

      Can depend on a lot of things: the type of rope, the purpose of the knot, the jumper, etc. In a jump rope program, when you are teaching proper skills, it’s better to just make the rope the correct size. Adding knots could be the equivalent of tying a shoe tighter or tying a knot in a shirt because they are too big. Off to a better start to just cut it to the correct size if you can.

    • @ToriBoggsJumpRope
      @ToriBoggsJumpRope  Рік тому +2

      Also, it’s apart of teaching kids to take good care of their equipment. Some ropes really get damaged with knots. Beaded ropes like this one, not so much though
