1:46 you left the appropriate amount of distance while following the jeep because you had plenty of time to slow down. If you didn’t leave as much ample space as you did you would’ve been much closer to impact.
Came down here to make the same observation. If it were icy or otherwise slippery, then sure, the distance was insufficient. I learned it as 2 seconds part is the minimum following distance. If the vehicle ahead is too close to the next vehicle forward, allow FOUR seconds from that vehicle two spots ahead of you. Then, of course, you add following distance and/or slow down for less-than ideal conditions, be it snow, ice, heavy rain (or the first 20-15 minutes of light rain that can lift oils out of the pavement), fog, dust storm, or low sun in your face.
@@MonkeyJedi99 Stopping distance is affected by the vehicle and road conditions at the time. Heavier vehicles need more time with lighter ones need less time. Even time of day can affect the minimum following distance since if it is sunrise/sunset the sun can affect your vision due to road glare as well as the power of the sun blasting into your face.
7:40 Cammer had the right of way. It's just how it is. Personally to avoid incidents like this i would just brake. Because a car getting in front of me isn't that serious. Much like this entire interaction

I notice people seem to think that massive SUVs and pickups are transparent, if they can't see a car through those massive body panels, there is no car there.
The problem I have with those SUV's and pickups is if I am in a parking lot exiting and one pulls next to me, blocking my view as they are practically in the road making it so I cannot see past them.

The dad teaching his daughter how to drive clip reminds me of when I learned to drive. However, I learned in an EMPTY parking lot… I can just imagine two scenarios, either the dad had too much confidence in his daughter to back up his truck (which who front parks a truck?) or the daughter was overly confident in herself. Both result in yelling in the moment and a silent ride home.
4:55 bruh, you pulled out going 2mph! Regardless of how fast the other guy was going, you act like everyone is supposed to slam on their brakes and wait for you to lead the way.
He was going slowly because there was a pedestrian crossing the street in front. If the speeding car hadn't hit him it would quite possibly have hit the pedestrian.
@paulkennedy8701 I saw the pedestrian. And that just enforces the fact that the cammer shouldn't have pulled out if he couldn't reach a reasonable speed. It was just an unsafe maneuver on his part.
He pulled out into an EMPTY ROAD. The car that hit him wasn’t even visible until after he pulled out. Generally speaking, it’s considered impolite and mildly illegal to run over pedestrians in a car too.
5:10 Technically, the right turn lane hadn't started yet, so the cammer was passing illegally. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people merge into a turn lane prematurely and then floor the accelerator, preventing people in front of them from entering the turn lane who were waiting until the appropriate place to merge. I'd say the cammer is at least 50% at fault. 7:30 you really going to submit a video of you engaging in overt road rage and act like you are in the right and the victim? So what if the other car technically was initially in the wrong, that doesn't justify your actions. You're lucky you didn't cause a wreck.
@@melissaq8854 Rewatch the clip and pay close attention to where the white line begins. Hint: it is beyond the point of impact. While the road had started widening to accommodate the right turn lane, the lane had not yet begun. The cammer was illegally passing the other car in his own lane.
@8:42 "What are you honking at me for?" Well, clearly, it's because you had the audacity to drive on the correct side of the road. I mean, how dare you! The nerve! 😆

One time it was raining and I was using a company car for my personal car because the owner and I were friends. I always drove slow in the rain because I wanted to be extra careful in someone else’s car. I was going 45 in a 65 on 670 in Columbus. I felt like an old grandma… even had my hazards on which pisses me off to see because it’s so cringe.. but I was trying to be kind to other drivers on the road since I was going so slow under the speed limit. These two cars come by going 65ish (I’m not a radar gun……..) they both lost control and started completely dancing in the road! I was on the phone with my now wife and all she heard was “woah! Wo- omg! Wha- holy!” And she was panicking thinking I just got in a wreck and I was like no I’m going under the speed limit like a good little boy and these fools were just traveling along. Both were okay but both smacked the side wall on the highway. Def major damage to their cars as they also hit each other. I did not stop. I didn’t have dash cam. Just eyes. I did laugh at how absurd the sliding looked but obviously it was neither of their faults.. I probably should’ve stopped and waited for cops to tell them that. Just two peeps trying to be on their way and the stupid excessive rain here flooded the highway and ruined their day and cars… I hope they were okay. Edit: Also worth noting I did feel the need to shout out to no one in particular “see! That’s why I’m going 45 in a 65 like a grandma!” So I did feel victorious.
02:35 - Megan having an accident in slow motion. Sure, the other driver was clearly at fault, but it never ceases to amaze me how many of these clips show drivers who are reluctant to avoid an accident, and this is a perfect example.
came to point this one out. Too many people think "IM IN THE RIGHT BEEP BEEP COMING THROUGH" like, even if you are, and insurance fixes it, you are still losing your day, your car for a while ect, not to mention potential injury to yourself.
8:56 I had that happen to me once. Driving down a road that has 2 lanes in each direction plus the center turn lane. So this girl comes to a stop to wait for traffic to clear so she can make a left turn. Except she wasn't in the turn lane, she was in my lane. And she was waiting for the other lane to clear. And I stop and honk my horn at her and was like, what are you doing? And she just shrugs her shoulders and gives me the dumbest expression like she doesn't understand why I'm honking at her. There was quite a bit of traffic in the right lane so I couldn't merge and go around her, I had to sit there and wait for her to get out of the way. Meanwhile cars are lining up behind me honking, probably wondering why traffic isn't moving. And this was in broad daylight too. Unfortunately, this was a couple years before I finally got a cam.
I am glad that people have dash cams see the crash and then stopped to give the footage. Cuz usually it's your word against theirs😂 and you know they be lying 💪💪
1:20- I had to go back to make sure I saw this right- and yep, that Jeep actually signaled his turn into that fire truck.. My guess is laser focused on the GPS. "In 50 feet, turn left." "Alrighty then!"
@7:47 At that speed it is normal for people to try to merge into the lane when there are wide gaps on the highway. Cammer was just being selfish and a bad driver.
The issue is that people take things way too personal. If someone cuts you off just let them, slow down and create more distance from them. Just relax, enjoy the drive.
In America, license plates are so small that they’re almost impossible to see clearly. If an accident happens and someone drives away from the scene, even a decent dashcam can barely capture anything. And that’s not to mention nighttime footage.
7:40 accidents often entail 2 dummies that run into one another. This guy would rather back up traffic behind him and begin to also drive like an idiot than to move on with his life.
2:00 something very similar happened when i was in the car with my dad, a pickup truck was trying to pull out of a gas station and our lane was backed up so my dad reversed to let him out, and before i could tell him that wasn’t a good idea the truck peeled out, tires skidding, almost running into oncoming traffic moral of the story, never let someone out of a lot out of courtesy, or there could be an accident. they can wait.

Yes it sucks, you're mad, I would be too but it's not worth losing your shit and making an idiot out of yourself. How are you not embarrassed!?
Your right, I should have let it go sooner. It really annoyed me when the guy is cussing me out like I was at fault. I left enough room for the truck to merge but the guy sped up past me and pulled in front of me. I wish I could teach him how to zipper merge instead of forcing his way in.
@@sam.ramphall I was wrong for that but there was no traffic behind me since everyone already got over since the lane closed ahead. I just wanted to talk to the guy but instead he used his low IQ to cuss me out instead explain why I was in the wrong.
3:55 - This was the worst possible reaction to a loss of control and was a complete panic. He kept flooring the gas the entire time during the spin and massively overcompensated the other way with counter-steering left, which just sent the car completely out of control. You can hear the engine revving the whole time. The correct course of action would be to let off the gas completely once the loss of control starts, while counter steering LIGHTLY the opposite way. Or if it's too far gone and not savable you can just hit the brakes and turn into the spin and commit to the spin, that way the car at least stays on the same relative line and does a 360 and doesn't fly off the road (at worst nudges the right side embankment, resulting in some dents and scratches as opposed to the car being a write-off).

Right? He literally left enough room for two cars and the other person just assumed they were letting them in. No, instead dude had to stop traffic to get on his soap box about zipper merging
"Let's block the left lane because this guy did something I don't like.". If the guy isn't zippering he's not going to change his mind on the road.
Last Sunday I had a situation where people wouldn't let people zipper in behind me. So then those people accelerate to merge in from of me.

Cammer had the right of way. It's just how it is.
Personally to avoid incidents like this i would just brake. Because a car getting in front of me isn't that serious. Much like this entire interaction
The cammer made it worse and then held up traffic to fight about something that should have just passed without incident. Sometimes we are in the right but can just let things go. I think that would solve a lot more road rage incidents smh
@@Chellz801 Right? Like, I get the desire to show someone when they've done something shitty, wrong, bone-headed, etc. But, like, you gotta just let shit like this go! @@Chellz801There was no one behind me. At this point everyone was in the right lane already since the lane closed ahead. It was technally safe to stop for a moment. He hit a guard rail, imagine if it wasn’t there - he could’ve caused a hugely bad accident.

4:14. Yeah, it's the car's fault, of course.
1:03 oh no!! So much mud 😂
5:10 they merged when the lane started which is the appropraite place to use the turn lane there
@@melissaq8854 Rewatch the clip and pay close attention to where the white line begins. Hint: it is beyond the point of impact. While the road had started widening to accommodate the right turn lane, the lane had not yet begun. The cammer was illegally passing the other car in his own lane.
To add to Melissa's comment, Charger didn't use a blinker at all so there was no reason to expect them to change lanes. Cammer was in the right there.
Nah, this is why as a driver you should always get into that lane as soon as possible, it literally built so you veer off into it.

Thats the best reflexes I've ever seen
Edit:
Also worth noting I did feel the need to shout out to no one in particular “see! That’s why I’m going 45 in a 65 like a grandma!” So I did feel victorious.
I like how people step on the horn instead of their brakes.

4:50 Lolno. You pulled out in front of them going 6MPH. Your fault. Had you looked you absolutely would've seen that car coming.

In America, license plates are so small that they’re almost impossible to see clearly. If an accident happens and someone drives away from the scene, even a decent dashcam can barely capture anything. And that’s not to mention nighttime footage.
This video makes it impossible to ignore the dangers of driving under the influence.
Dodge Chargers don't handle well in bad weather....especially when a bad driver is behind the wheel.
