      Thanks mate. I just decided today I'm getting a pro wireless lapel mic, so I'll be able to improve quality soon.

    Wow, you got the "Big Birtha" Ken. Congratulations, that's very nice. It's has 1 extra compressor than mine. TBH, I love my Hush 100 compressor. I had it running all day yesterday whilst cnc machining and it never missed a beat. Cheers, Aaron.

      Cheers. Yeah it's a beast. Still quiet enough to have a conversation in the same room. We're so lucky to have this technology available. My workshop is close to some residential properties and I believe they wouldn't even know I'm machining at night with this compressor. (I do have grade 3 insulation on the doors, walls and ceiling of the workshop).

    Hi there, I was wondering if you could time how long it takes for the compressor to fill all the way up from empty tank? Cheers.

      Sure. I don't usually empty it. Actually this reminds me to drain the tank fluid. I'll run it tomorrow.

    I was just looking at this compressor online as I am in the market. I notice it says correct draw is 15.4amps. I think you’re in Australia like me, what kind of plug top is it?

    • @MakeTechPtyLtd
      @MakeTechPtyLtd  Рік тому

      It's 15amp plug. Still going strong although It doesn't run flat out. If you buy one, I recommend taking the plastic covers off the piston heatsinks.

      @@MakeTechPtyLtd Awesome, thanks mate. Just designing my workshop and Ib think this is the compressor I want so i’ll add a 15a circuit for it. Cheers! Subscribed

      @woodywood6961 ok, if your in design stage, here's the specs we ran for the workshop. 32a breaker in the house feeding 1 phase to the workshop. I laid 3phase cable for future upgrade, 6mm2 4 core, then 2 Circuits in the workshop . A 10 amp with 8 wide double power points, and a single 15 amp double power point directly under the fuse box. Both Circuits have an Residual current breaker "MOD6 RCBO, 2P, 6kA, 30mA, 16A" . Heads up, you don't have to dig the trench for power as deep if you have concrete over it. So run a footpath out to the workshop and save some digging.

    • @MakeTechPtyLtd
      @MakeTechPtyLtd  Рік тому

      @woodywood6961 and the compressor runs on a heavy duty 15amp extension cord. The cord doesn't get warm.

      @@MakeTechPtyLtd Thanks for the details :)
      I’m on 5 acres and the run is coming from the boundary. It’s about 200m so i’m going to have to go 500 deep. Cable will need to be substantial too. But it’s a 200sqm workshop and it can’t NOT have power! I am looking forward to all the wood/metal working toys in there. I want to make sure I have enough power so i’m overdoing it a little in my estimates

    Hey Ken, good vid, do you have a DB rating for in your workshop on the compressor? also i noticed you have the Taiwanese drill press that looks like its from Hairy Forbes, 1 hp model whats thoughts on that bad boy?

    • @MakeTechPtyLtd
      @MakeTechPtyLtd  4 роки тому

      Hi mate, no DB rating on the compressor that I have measured. But to give you an idea, it clicked on about 3m away next to a friend an myself having a convo and we didn't have to stop talking or adjust our volume to talk over it. From outside the workshop the birds chirping are louder. Regarding the drill, yeah I'll cover that soon. It's a bit of a beast. I put a wood splitting screw in it and it had no problem with power. Just the Morse taper was slipping.

    • @troyam6607
      @troyam6607 4 роки тому

      @@MakeTechPtyLtd ah quiet as! yeah im looking to get one similar but in the HF range as the biggest drillpress they have is a 1.8kw verse the Taiwanese ones at 0.75kw but i know that they are built better than the Chinese version. the MT3 will slip if you have a bent tang or no tang as they sometimes need a driver as well as the morse taper. maybe a bit of grease or scoring on the taper has made it unlock?

    • @MakeTechPtyLtd
      @MakeTechPtyLtd  4 роки тому +1

      @@troyam6607 just to clarify, it's slipping when I use a log splitting screw. It's a 50mm threaded cone. It wasn't designed for that amount of torque. Im going to mount it on its own motor.

    No problems or faults yet ? Still going strong? Recommend still ?

    • @MakeTechPtyLtd
      @MakeTechPtyLtd  3 роки тому +1

      Still going strong.
      Couple things to report:
      The water does seem to accumulate more than traditional compressors for some reason, and the position of the drain tap isn't directly on the bottom of the tank. So draining it completely is tricky (lean the unit over) .
      I have it under a desk with open sides and due to the minimal fans it can get hot if its run continuosly.
      I've got a second tank on the CNC machine that helps reduce moisture. The moisture filter on the regulator on the CNC barely gets any visible condensation.

    If i want to inflate or pump air into normal car tyres. Do i need the 4 motor or the two motor?
    2 motor is enough for pumping air on car tyres?

    • @MakeTechPtyLtd
      @MakeTechPtyLtd  Рік тому

      The motors number relates to output over time. I'd recommend a single motor unit for a small task like tyre inflation. With it's tank fully charged, you'd be able to get a tyre from zero to 30psi in a few seconds

    It would have loved to get one, but it's probably not worth another visit from the Police. I tried to get info, was promised it time and time again, got fed up they banned me from FaceBook, I complained to management, They said they would sort it, they never did, I whinged again was promised some freebies for my trouble than on the day they reneged. Then they send the Police around to make sure I don't complain about my treatment.

      Sydney tools had the police visit you?
      Recently with the vacuum workholding it's been getting a workout so I'm looking at ways to remove heat from it, as it's getting fairly hot with the duty cycle. Maybe 70°C . I'm considering ducted fans pulling hot air off the pumps. Currently just have 2 fans blowing over the pumps.

      @@MakeTechPtyLtd Yes that right Ken, I just wanted advice on which Chicago Air Hush to purchase from them and they treated me like filth. I shouldn't have complained. I got past that went to purchase then they lied to me, went to complain about that then had the boys in blue on the doorstep. It was funny one of them explained to me why he gave Sydney Tools the flick and made Total Tools his shop. Your setup is looking awesome any chance of showing some detail of the pneumatics? I am still a bit lost on my build using the same spindle.
