I had bloodwork to check my ANA and for the first time it 20 yrs it was negative. I can’t wait until November to have my full blood panel done. Oh and I’ve lost 40lbs. So I’m happy. Jen! Keep going! I had the elevated heart rate and profound fatigue too. It took maybe 6 weeks to get better. It takes longer than a month. I journal everything! My weight. What I eat. How I feel. My BM’s. My slip ups. I look back over it. I learn from it. I started out as a heavy veggie keto person, to carnivore. It was a rough transition with oxalate dumping. I had a very small appetite when I first started carnivore. The meat and fat was so filling. That gets better. It just takes time to see the improvement. Hang in there!

Keep up the awesome work!! I’m so proud of you! Your bp might be cause of just your changes. Dr Berry/Nutrition with Judy has said when you start your body is under stress a little. Especially if you were vegan. You are feeding your body nutrients you need. You might have big appetites then no appetites. When I have a craving. I have a small cup of coffee with a spoon of butter. The cravings go away. I’ve lost 80 pounds gotten rid of so much pain and stomach problems too many to mention. I’m just enjoying my life!

It started with Kerry watching ferrigno freedom video and wondering how he did on the lion diet, Kerry was shocked at how well ferigno did with his health and weight loss from just eating meat.
Kerry is determined to help as many people as he can to get better health by changing their diet.

Jen, I started keto Aug 2018 and did amazing the first five months. Got down to under 200 for the first time in 25 years. But when my weight loss stalled and the pain started coming back, I failed, I started "self-medicating" again with carbs. It's take a few years and a lot more learning but I now realize my problem was/is veg. Because much of it processes like sugar in the body it triggers cravings in me. I also have learned that I am very sensitive to the toxins in veg which causes inflammation which triggers cravings. I was self-sabotaging and didn't realize it. I started carnivore June 1st because I was sick n tired of being sick n tired. I stated I'd do it for at least 30 days, which turned in to 90 days and I'm now pretty sure it's going to be a lifetime commitment. I didn't get sick this round, but I am still dealing with things. I'm not seeing the improvements I expected but I am seeing improvement. I urge you to pay attention to your body and how it responds to this way of eating and maybe at 30 consider maybe going 60-90 days before considering introducing veg back into your diet.

Jen, hang in there! It is only going to get better. I had stomach pain too when I started. Still have nausea at times. I suspect it is because my liver was not able to put out enough enzymes that digest the fat. It is the fat that helps to feel full. So I made sure I felt full so I would not be tempted by carbs. The pants that are not shorts but fall between the knee and ankle in length are called capris.

I live in Spain and UK - I do not buy pre made electrolytes - I just buy sea salt and add it to my glasses of water and also liberally put it on my food.
I have bought Lo Salt - which is a potassium salt = it is only £1 in a UK supermarket - I sprinkle this in my glasses of water.
I buy magnesium tablets - initially made the mistake of buying oxide - now I look for other types of magnesium.
I was shaky in the beginning and one evening thought I was having a heart attack - I called an ambulance ... but then realised it maybe a lack of salt - put crystals under my tongue and within 10 minutes my breathing calmed. down and the sweating stopped.
Also for the first 3 years - I could not fin energy in the afternoon, evening - it took me ages to realise that I needed to FEAST and for 8 months I ate and ate and ate .... now I feel so much better and I have energy.

I was experimenting with more salt via redmunds real salt and after 6 days of an extra teaspoon a day in water, my BP went from 120/78 to 170/95 and I remembered reading how sodium and potassium need to be in the right ratio so I added 3000mg(1teaspoon) a day of potassium chloride(Nu-Salt)and cut out the extra salt to my water and my BP has been 110/68 for the last 6 weeks and the palpatations I had for the last 15 years are gone!

Very insightful, thank you! I am wondering how you drink a glass of water with that much salt or potassium chloride added to it, though. If water is too "salty" to me, like sea water, it's unpalatable and makes me want to retch. I could start at lower quantities, though, and perhaps build up from there if needed, as I do happen to have some Nu-Salt on hand.

I have learged a lot more and I really understand the gut microbiome connection. Our stomach is connected to our brain. It is called our Enteric Nervous System.
Please know that “You’re doing amazing Jen” 🎉
What you are craving is what you’re gut bacteria are wanting you to keep eating/return to eating again.
Your gut microbiome is made up of what you eat.
If we eat lots of sugar, there is a certain type of gut Microbiome that is produced, this Microbiome is the cause inflammation and lots of autoimmune issues. It will signal to the brain that you need to eat more of that particular food group.
This is what I actual real craving is.
It takes a lot of determination to push through these types of cravings. Don’t be hard on yourself because it is an actual brain signal that you are having to ignore.
Keep a mental note of the types of food that you are craving, and after a while, you were realise these are all things that you have eaten in the past.
