      I just have a small question about the little smokies. Do you get the ones in the grocery store or a specialty store? When I read the ingredients, the ones at our local Walmart have corn syrup solids. Just wondering if that is something you try to stay away from?

    I'm a grandmother who homeschooled; and now my children homeschool their children. I watch this channel for the nostalgia of that season in life! From my older perspective, carnivore needs to be much more "clean." By that, I mean that I do better without coffee (plant based) and without all herbs/spices (plant based). Even the low-carb sweeteners that are assumed not to raise insulin (monk fruit, stevia, allulose) can raise insulin due to individual responses. Adding these categories at my age can slow down goals. However, if someone is a carb addict, they might consider never eating anything plant-based or sweet because it is similar to an alcoholic "just taking a little sip." And the question is, how many of us are carb addicts when considering that the average American diet is 70% processed foods? A carnivore-leaning diet is amazing at any level, but if you aren't reaching your expectations or are constantly finding yourself falling off the diet, being more strict and limited might be the best choice. Blessings to all who walk this pilgrim's lifestyle!

      I'm so glad to have you here- what a testimony to your job & walk! Amen- I notice I can cycle on and off with strictness... meanwhile we found my husband has DRASTIC differences if he's not staying strict. I love that Lord gives us so many ways to care for our earthly bodies.

    I appreciate this video so much! I’m a mom of three that is trying to transition the whole family to carnivore and I’ve felt like I’m the only one doing this! I think there’s a stigma that if you try to put your kids on a new way of eating like this you’re robbing them somehow. That’s a rough social obstacle but I think it’s awesome that you are rocking it and not being super strict with the kiddos. I’m only strict with myself, my kids get to cheat when they have to. Keep on keeping on, sister! ❤️☺️

    • @HeavenlyMindedHome
      @HeavenlyMindedHome  2 роки тому +7

      Aww, thanks hon!!! Yes- I know people get really weird whenever you look at this type of topic with your kids too... Why don't we have a stigma against giving kids soda? High fructose corn syrup? Sugar in a bowl aka cereal? But I say I'm feeding my kids all meat & animal products and that makes me nuts! 😅🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ Oh well!

    • @HannahNObanana
      @HannahNObanana 2 роки тому +2

      @@HeavenlyMindedHome That’s exactly right!! It’s so frustrating to be judged for feeding your kids something other than sugar and colors for breakfast! 🤦‍♀️ I’m transitioning my kids kinda slowly with the additions of fruit and honey but I’m hoping to dial those back a little over time. Their current favorite breakfast is a cottage cheese smoothie with berries! I only sweeten with a banana or a smattering of honey. I have noticed my youngest who is two has been asking for the fat off my steaks since we’ve started this and I know she didn’t like it before so I guess it’s steadily working. 😆🙌 I love how simplistic this way of eating is as well, meal planning elaborate meals has never been easy for me! 😂 I haven’t checked our budget yet but I think you actually spend less at the store when omitting the veg and plant based snack foods, imagine that! I think you mentioned that in the video too. ☺️

    i started to eat this way and I've lost almost 100 lbs....i had to have back surgery and then had kidnet failure and i got up to almost 300 lbs. at that time i couldn't exercise the only thing i could do was change my diet. just by changing the way i eat i dropped a lot of weight. i can move now much better... it got rid of my fatty liver disease, my immune system strengthened cuz my immune system is shit do l due to a blood disorder i was born with.... i have asthma and breathing became easier. i still eat mostly this way. i have changed it a little but still eat only meat (i eat the common everyday meats but also duck, bison, venison, lamb, woodchuck, rabbit, goat, goose, elk, alligator, frog legs, grasshoppers), dairy, eggs and i do add fruit in my diet though. i only drink water, raw milk, herbal teas, coffee (reg coffee but also roasted dandelion root and roasted chicory root, somtimes roasted and powdered mushrooms for coffee) i try to eat as close to the way God created it in nature.... i do not crave pop, sugar, sweets, junk food, highly processed/fast food. i make my own butter and cheeses from scratch at home. I've gotten off most of my mess and working on getting rid of more when it's safe to do so. it's not a expensive a some people think and when you eat only until you're starting to feel full and do not overstuffed yourself your body gets used to not eating as much thus not as expensive. i sleep better, move better, my body systems have normalized, hair and nails are more healthy and my skin cleared up.... best decision i ever made starting with the first Caveman diet book i bought and read while i was still bedridden many years ago.

    Not for nothing but they make baked cheese snacks that are only cheese and salt and they're baked. They're not fried so no bad oils. I believe the brand is wisps. Anyways, I find that they're a really great replacement for potato chips with my kids, so maybe if you're craving that salt and vinegar, maybe make a salt and vinegar brine and put it in a spray bottle? And when you're getting ready to eat those, those cheese snacks just spray a little bit on them so that you get that salt and vinegar bite with the cheese

    Two months on this diet and I got severe and painful constipation! It was awful! I have a friend who ended up in the same boat and she would go a full week without a bowel movement. Not good. Even though I felt better otherwise, I knew this would lead nowhere good. Had to swing back to my WFPB diet, increase my fiber, and minimize meat and dairy until my body got back to normal. I don’t hear much about this problem amongst the carnivore-diet folks. Just wondering if you and your family began experiencing this problem after eating this way for a time?

    Carnivore diet might be good but grass fed/non GMO(supplement grains)/organic no hormone/antibiotic meat can get costly for a family especially if they are mid-low to low income. Remember dyes are bad/ all natural flavoring doesn't mean it is/all natural meat doesn't mean its organic grass fed non GMO no antibiotics/hormones inexpensive ground beef has filler added etc

      Have you ever tried me and meet alone? Because most people try to do a heavy protein diet, but they leave in their fruits and vegetables and even some carbs like almond flour or coconut flour and stuff like that. But you cannot have those things in your diet. If you're doing a heavy protein diet for healing, I would say try it without all of the other stuff in there. Only meet eggs and small amounts of dairy to start with and then as you clean for like 30 days you go back and you start adding things in because it could be that you were pairing that meat up with something else that was inflammatory that was bothering your gut. Typically meat is an anti-inflammatory food and it's not going to inflame your GI track. It's always accompanied by something that does inflame your GI tract. I would say don't give up and try again.

This is an expensive option, especially for several children. And I hope your supplementing (vitamins, minerals) if not eating organic vegetables. Children do not need sparkling water. Neither do adults, but, it’s a nice treat. I know this diet works, but, be smart about how you are going about it. Organic greens and berries I feel are necessary.

But trying our best to source what we can and especially praying over our food that all impurities are removed is a must. Blueberries, as well as other berries in plain Icelandic yogurt, were mentioned. This could be a good "eating with the seasons" as tolerated addition to the carnivore diet. Some berries, such as raspberries and also many greens, like spinach, Swiss chard, and beet greens, are way too high in oxalates unless boiled and the cooking water off them is thrown out. Oxalates are in all plants, but the amounts we find in those greens and raspberries are pretty alarming. We have to realize that these are chemical defenses that plants have and while we can reduce them by boiling, sprouting, and fermenting, many are still causing toxicity issues as well as inhibiting proper nutrient assimilation.

    I had to turn this video off 7 minutes into it when you started talking about being strict with kids' diets being ridiculous and commenting that you weren't going to be a lunatic about it. My children were watching with me in excitement because I told them I found another family who was eating carnivore and that you might have some fun food ideas. I was really disappointed and wish you would have commented that your children are healthy in general and this is why you can stray. My oldest child has Mast Cell Disease, Dysautonomia, severe asthma, and Celiac Disease. Another has Epilepsy, Oral Allergy Syndrome and so is allergic to over 45 plant-based foods, and is allergic to all drupes, nuts, and eggs on top of that. One is allergic to eggs, oats, rice, sulfates (full body hives instantly), and has chronic constipation and chronic urticaria/dermographism. They see specialists for most of this and have been on medications for years. We found the carnivore diet and have been on it for about a month. We have been able to take my son off of two meds and shift another on to a lower dosage. We haven't seen constipation or hives in the one who used to have to take a double dose of Miralax every day. There have been major changes, and the couple of times we allowed them to stray because I felt guilty, the results were awful. My husband and I have had many hard conversations about them and with them because We just can't, in good conscience, believe that it would be the right thing to do to start giving them the foods that cause so much damage before. If something is bad for you, it shouldn't be seen as a treat. I'm not sure what else to say except that I wish your words would have been more gentle and less judgmental for the families who are relying on this in order to give their kids back somewhat normal childhoods.

      I'm so sorry you took offense to this. I think you would most usually assume that someone was not struggling with something serious if they hadn't mentioned anything about there being something serious. We also have vlogged for over 5 years now so our family is pretty well documented. The flip side of this would be all of the people freaking out that my kids had a strict diet even though they're healthy and not struggling with something serious. Everyone is quick to be offended over things on the internet... it's a hard line to balance. My kids are healthy, which I'm thankful for, so my being super stressed and legalistic over food would make ME a lunatic.... but that doesn't mean that's the case when you are facing serious issues & allergies. For instance, my husband is now facing serious health issues so I am absolutely being a lunatic over his diet! Sorry to have set off a trigger for you- lifting you and your children up in prayer!

    • @memtcjp
      @memtcjp Рік тому

      @@HeavenlyMindedHome Well, I didn't actually say I was offended. I said I was disappointed. There's a massive difference. To be bummed out about something is very different than to take offense. People who are triggered typically respond in a very emotional or spastic way. I didn't think for 1 minute that anything I said to you would cause you to be so defensive or be considered as a reaction that came from being triggered. Just disappointed and bummed that you chose the words you did. I do still think that using words like ridiculous and lunatic were in poor taste. As far as your family being well documented, I guess I would say that I don't research every person whose UA-cam video looks like something that might be beneficial, particularly when it looks like it's coming from a similar worldview. I am obviously capable of explaining our different situations to my children, but you can't unhear what you have heard, and so I was bummed. That's it. Not offended or angry at your use of free speech, but was hoping you would be willing to take into consideration in future videos that being flippant about things is usually not the most effective way to welcome people into your space. I'm sure, just like any other conversation online, we could go back and forth. Let's not. I didn't realize what I said was going to be taken as an attack or fit or however it was taken. Sometimes things just don't translate, and that's okay. Take care.
