On the plus side, they listened to your advice about the Make lock.

Are you planning to review Vaultek DS2i Smart Station VS. DS5i Smart Station?

I hadn't really thought about it. I hacked the original Vaultek products when they came out in 2016, and I followed up on their products for years, too many. If I never say the name "Vaultek" again in my life, along with the names "Bulldog Vaults" and "Sentry Safe" and "Union Safe Company," I will be a happy man.

@@HandgunSafe - Thanks. My guess is they are over priced crap as usual. Too bad they don’t improve their products.

The whole point of the 'secret' latch is to lock the catches in place, you are always supposed to leave the safe secured this way. A fair test would be to engage the 'secret' latch and redo the test, I'm sure the outcome will be very different...

The point I made on video is that it doesn't matter. If the safe is not bolted down, one only has to try one position on the dial and drop the safe. If that fails, try the next position and drop the safe. Continue until open.

@@HandgunSafe Sure, if they know it's a safe in the first place and that there is a secret latch commanded by the knob... The whole point of the diversion is that they won't know. The user is supposed to ALWAYS engage the secret latch. In this case there is no way the safe will open upon impact. While you raise some valid point about the documentation, the drop test is misleading, it makes it looks like this safe will open by itself if dropped while properly locked :/

@@clarkguenfu You're describing what is known as "security through obscurity." In this case, the safe remains a secure diversion strategy for gun storage until it is no longer obscure. Once the safe is on the market, presumably selling through the website and maybe Amazon, and once it has been reviewed on UA-cam and elsewhere, the diversion is no longer obscure. Thus, the security is lost. Even without my video, the obscurity would vanish. I've advised companies for years to avoid this strategy for their devices.
