Mine arrived today and I'm wearing it as I am typing this. I binned the bracelet and gave it a nice alligator brown leather strap and it is sweet. A great looking watch for not a lot of money. Win/Win!
I absolutely agree! Along with the BB chrono this may be Pagani Design's best watch. It's nicely made, even with some attention to detail. I like the logo without the additional "Pagani Design" labelling, resulting in an uncluttered dial. The watch has a perfect size and comes with female end links. It's worth noting that the water resistance rating is higher than on the original Longines. I have to say, the puny hands on version 1 were an absolute deal breaker, but there's nothing wrong with this version give it's price. This is how affordable watches should be!
I have their chrono coming v soon on the channel mate and I know what you mean. Like you, I really like this one and feel it’s a real step in the right direction from Pagani Design, am hoping they build on it and continue to improve. Thanks for watching Alex and I hope you’re well 👍👍
They are mate and definitely a step in the right direction from a brand that were at some point, becoming a bit of a joke. I really like this one. Thanks for watching and I hope you’re well 👍👍
Great review 👍 - I have the Longines Spirit and this looks like a very decent homage by Pagani. I'm very curious to see it for myself so might have to pick one up!
With the upgraded hands, this watch definitely hits a lot of good notes and I can see it being a very popular choice. Am glad you like it and thanks for watching mate 👍👍
Crazy macros at the start Simon! Got to thank you too, cause by making this "extra" review, i can almost clearly see that the white dial is probably not for me, blue wins (still... many "maybes" 🤪). But will wait for some sale, prices got high lately. Thanks once more mate, be well, cheers!
Am glad you liked the macro shots mate, am trying and will only get better and better. There is a sale on in a few weeks so not too long to wait. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend 👍👍
Thanks for the review of the V2. It's amazing how much better it looks with the new hands. I cannot understand how PD messed it up in the first batch. Maybe their copier was low on toner. Is there any silver to the dial on yours or is it purse white? It can be hard to tell sometimes in these videos.
I couldn’t understand that either Kevin tbh but at least it’s sorted now. In regards to the dial, it’s a nice white and the silver is added by the hands and indices. I hope that helps and thank you for watching 👍👍
I would like to buy the King Seiko SPB281J but I realy dont want to lay out $2,650.00 as I'm retired and this year I will turn 76 years old. So looking at this watch & I have recently purchased a couple of Pagani Designe watches with the same movement and they are working realy good. Everyday I cant help admiring them. This is mainly because Im wearing one & I wind the other one up.
I hear you mate and that is a beautiful watch but like you, I can’t afford to shell out that sort of money. Pagani make some very nice, affordable watches now - enjoy 👍👍
I'm glad I waited for the version 2. The longer hands makes it look much better and more like the Longines. I tried wearing it with the bracelet, but it really doesn't match the quality of the case. I found it too tinny and I wish it had male endlinks. I don't think the female endlinks are necessary because of the small case size and relatively short lug to lug. After putting a nato strap with it, I think the watch now looks and wears so much better!
I've missed a lot of watch reveiws recently due to work and stuff, and obviously missed your last review of earlier variants of this model. But this looks quite good, right? Pagani and other Chinese brands often seem to design their hands too thin and/or too short. I own a few watches from AE I just wish would have bigger hands. I really hope they'll shape up with that, it seems like such a small thing to correct. Anyways, keep up the good work, mate.
Honestly mate I really like this watch and I fully stand by my comment about it being their best watch. Good point about their hands as along with their lume, they definitely need to be consistent with improving those areas. Thanks for watching my man 👍👍
It definitely looks much better with the new hands! Did they skip AR coating on this one too? They seem to be doing that a lot lately. The one thing I really hate about Pagani is that they are raising their prices, and taking away features that other brands in the same price range offer. It wouldn't cost them more than $10 a watch to put good AR and great lume on their watches, which is a shame in my opinion. This is a nice looking watch otherwise!
I must admit, I didn’t notice as much problems with the AR coating on the V2 compared to the V1 but I know what you mean, as it seems like something Pagani Design are omitting to add on some of their watches. As for the lume - it’s decent but not great. The hands definitely complete the look. Thanks for watching my man 👍👍
They should add an AR crystal because there is so much glare on the current versions and better lume and it would be 100% even if they had to charge a little more for it.V3 ?Thanks for the review .
Excellent review Simon, the hands definitely look better, the lume seems to be a bit better, interesting in the longevity of the lume. The dial is very good. Just the logo and no Pagani is perfect for this dial. Can I ask is it possible that the light colour hands against the white dial might be hard to see in some light conditions? Or is it very legible ?
The lume is ok and fairly bright for a Pagani Design but I can’t say I noticed a difference in the quality between the 2 versions. Good question about the hands and dial. What makes the legibility ok is the fact that the high polished hands can be seen and offer a contrast from the dial + the dial is textured. I hope that helps mate 👍👍
I've just received my 1717v2 in blue. Definitely disappointed at the bracelet (okay some san martin were also part of the mail call so that's probably why), I immediately switched it to a blue leather strap which made it wear drastically better. However, my main gripe about it is the crystal. It's a reflection nightmare and it's quite annoying to read the gorgeous dial (which should be legible easily safe for the crystal) because of it. I don't mind the cheap lume.
I thought the bracelet was ok tbh but yes, if you’re comparing it to San Martin then it can’t compete tbh. AR coating on the crystal would definitely be nice as well. Enjoy the watch and thank you for watching 👍👍
@@WatchtheTime thx for covering the watch though, I'll be patiently waiting the V3 with AR coating since PD has started to implement that on some crystals.
Good to hear Chris. I have left a couple of links in the description and I think one is a bit cheaper than the other. There is a sale in a few weeks though so may be a good time to look then. Thanks for watching mate 👍👍
All they need to do is use decent lume. If tandorio can then theres no excuse. Ive got the spirit chrono and they are different enough from the longines to be a watch in its own right. I bought it as a try before you buy the longines, although that is bulky compared to the pagani. But come on. Every watch they do is let down by the lume with everything else being far beyond its price tag.
Sorry to hear that Dre and I don’t think it’s too bad on this one but yes, it’s definitely the ‘Achilles Heel’ of Pagani Design, no doubt. Thanks for watching mate 👍👍

this watch with brown leather strap gonna look superb!
It sure would Ariel. In future videos would you be interested to see what the watch looks like on other straps? Thanks for watching mate 👍👍
This one has been on my wish list for a while now
If you grab one I’m sure you’ll love it mate. Pagani Design have done a good job with this one 👍👍
The longer handset has made a big difference to how this one looks, much much better.👍👍
They sure do bro and definitely improves the look and overall aesthetic of the watch. Thanks for watching my man 👍👍

The white is versatile but to plain for me, will go for a blue one. Love that there is no date.
I get that and I did feature their V1 blue dial version, very nice. Thanks for watching mate 👍👍

I wonder if this watch will take a regular Seiko see through case back....?
I’m not sure tbh, perhaps a Seiko 5 caseback would fit but I’m not 100% sure. Thanks for watching 👍👍
would you know what tool and size to remove the lid?
I’m not sure mate but it’s a similar tool to the one Rolex use. Good luck 👍👍
