@4:40 the Strobel book "The Case for Christ" is one of the worst apologist books I've read on the subject. Anyone with even half a brain would see right through it. Quotes are out of context, the science being bashed is not even accurate, there are logical contradictions, invented "facts," non-expert opinions (you know, like interviewing priests about science, not scientists) and there's nothing journalistic about it; despite the author claiming the approach in the outset. About the lens, nice review... I actually didn't like the AF hunting @1:44 I wonder if it's just the old body or the lens? Would be nice to see the lens on an A7 III or A7R III. Thanks :)
Christopher Frost Photography I wrote a whole paper about it close to 15-years ago. I can substantiate the claims. Any time an apologist starts taking on well established scientific theories they'll lose. What he took on was flawed science tweaked by him to prove it wrong. Any scientist will tell you it's wrong, but he didn't talk to scientists, no, his expert witnesses were priests. Google his quotes by Einstein, you'll see those were out of context and Einstein was saying the opposite. The only place I've seen religion defended even marginally (but not really) is in philosophy. At the end it's well established that the Bible is a book written by men, many years after the main character has died (assuming he even existed). I can say the same about the Quran, Torah or a Shakespearian play. All works of fiction. This isn't the forum for debate and to be honest, that's no longer an interesting pastime for me, but if it's of interest to you, I don't mind educating you about any topic in the book you believe proves anything.
BROis I don't think we're thinking about the same book here, considering that Lee Strobel wasn't actually an apologist at the time he wrote the book, and he doesn't particularly look at 'scientific theories' in the sense that you're talking about - and also, I think only one or two of the people he interviewed were actually priests - they were mostly recognised and respected scholars. Are you sure you're thinking of the right book? Anyway, please feel free to forward me your paper to my business email address on my main UA-cam page, and I'd be delighted and very curious to have a look. But so far, any criticisms of the book that I've heard of have mostly been bluster from people who clearly haven't read it properly, and who have simply pre-determined to disagree with it.
Christopher Frost Photography Yes definitely the same book. I would love to, but this was so long ago, I no longer have it. Google the quotes by Einstein. Google all the 'facts' he has in the book and you'll see for yourself.
Thanks for this review! I have loved my Rokinon 14mm FE MF lens, no fringing but plenty of correctable distortion with adobe's profile for it. I think I am going to lean towards the new sigma 14mm 1.8 lens and adapt it with the MC11. You should definitely get your hands on and review that one :)
I do plenty of DSLR lenses - I did a DSLR lens last week. And you might have to face the fact that mirrorless cameras are here to stay, and they're only going to get bigger!
I really hope they don't take the autofocus path in the future. I love their manual lenses for video becuase they are great value for money and I don't care about autofocus. And electronic focus rings are a pain to use, if you want to focus manually. I also dislike the Sony lenses because of that fact. If you have to adjust focus constantly and manually, focus by wire is just not an option. I know that's because autofocus for video is a thing now, and they obviously want to promote that, but I still think that it's a bummer...
They have a cinema lens series and likely will be making manual DSLR lenses for a long time due to af on those being difficult to reverse engineer. Wouldn't worry too much about manual focus lenses going away with samyang.
focus by wire lenses are not made the same, for example latest generation focus by wire lenses from sony, fuji, and olympus are better at manual focus than the previous one
Manual is not for everyone especially photographers. I had the rokinon 2.0 12mm for my a6300 which was manual and ended up selling it. Even with focus peaking i lost a lot of shots due to the focusing which wasn't always easy to see on the screen or viewfinder. This af lens has been amazing and i hope they continue making af.

I mix it up these days. For video work I only shoot on my Sony a6300 (I'm sick to death of Canon's video quality)
lot of focus hunting
Not only was it hunting but clicking so loudly, it almost drowned out the reviewer claiming it was silent and quick.
Just watched the old video on the manual focus version - it seems that the old version is more optically superior.
I was thinking the same thing, maybe i'll get the MF 14mm instead of this one.
Corner distortion is better on the AF version, but the overall image quality/sharpeness is definitely better on the MF version imo.
so the downside of a 42 megapretzel camera is you need insanely expensive lenses? LOVE your vids kris.
Not necessarily. I've tried the Samyang 35mm f/2.8 and the Sony 28-70 and they can take advantage of the 42mp sensor
On sale for $500
there's no 14mm that takes filters without special adapters.
ed rader But 15mm
you mean the canon RF that's not on the market yet? that's the only one I know of
The case for Christ👌👌
Thanks :)
I occasionally hear atheists trash-talking that book, but they can never substantiate their claims very satisfactorily!
Google all the 'facts' he has in the book and you'll see for yourself.
...you haven't read the book, have you.
Maybe I won't buy this
WOW .. hope available for Nikon
The focus rack in AF looks absolutely terrible. Jittery, slow, hunting... Disappointing.
the case for Christ :) , very good bro
Just wanted to say hi lol
1st
Great job as always.
The autofocus is terrible
Please can you give the mirrorless cameras a rest and go back to DSLR
Too bad the down vote button won't decrease your up vote. I hope Samyang makes more AF lenses in the future.
I guess you'll always have the old ones.
