I loved this. I was searching how to foil my sewing machine and I found a photo, which led me here. I am excited and can't wait to get started. Thanks for showing this.
Just got some stuff I ordered from you today. I’m so super excited!!! So I tried cutting them with regular art scissors and it was kind of hard to cut. Any recommendations on what kind of scissors to use. Also I brought some stuff from you and I believe I also got the sealer. My question for that is I’m fooling my cap that has embroidery on it already. How would I seal it? If I seal something that foil is not on there is it going to just look like a glossy surface? I’ll said you a picture once I get home lol. Thanx
The foils cut super easy with a good new pair of scissors. The Final Coat will not be too shiny on a baseball cap, but you can brush it over only the area that is needed to be protected!
Can we spray to protect the foil . Can we do polyster?, polyurethane? , acrylic. But this tpye of finishing is possible when base layer has epoxy on it then polyster can be done. So without epoxy can we spray on foil. Or can we do directly spray.
Yes our foils can be used on fabric and you will want to use one of the Fabric foil adhesives we have - there are four to choose from and make sure to grab a fabric-friendly foil. There is a tab on the website that has all of the textile foils listed which is most of our foils. www.apsfoils.com
No, these are not the same foils as for nail art. Our foils on 12" to 24" wide and by the linear foot. We do have retailers all over the world or you can order directly from us - here is the link to see if anyone is close to you: www.artisticpaintingstudio.com/store-locator/
He Jen......What substrate will the glue adhere to, does it need to be non porous, can it be bare wood, canvas, paper, cardboard, mdf? thanks in advance
the foil adhesive will stick to most surfaces, but I prefer a paint color under the foils. I have done wood, canvas, paper, kraft bags, mdf, metal glass, plastic - but some of these surfaces need to be prepped!
a candle can be tricky due to the fact that it's wax but one of our customers has been pretty successful - she posted in our Foil Everything Group page on Facebook - go check it out!!!
The new transparent carriers have added a new element of figuring out which side is the transfer side! But the best thing to do is apply a piece of blue tape to the foil before removing it from the core - the foils are always rolled onto the core with the transfer side towards the core so the exposed side is the clear carrier. Also, if you have already taken them off the core, you can use a piece of tape (like scotch tape) to test, it will pull of the transfer side :)

Have you ever tried to foil silicone watch bands?
I haven't yet, but the would most likely need a primer to adhere to the silicone
Can you use bondago on fabric canvas to create a fabric foil pattern on top. I’ve seen you put it on a hat????????
yes, you sure can - I have painted my fabric first with Bondago to seal it :)

Most clear spray topcoats will work. We have not used/tested them all, but most clear topcoats have worked for us :)
Dear Jenni
Best regards from Dubai
If you use the foil on fabric, can it be washed? And how would you protect the finish in that kind of application? Thanks!

I love with your ideas thx also I ? How to protect if I want to use this paper on wood
Always top coat any foil project to protect the foils - make sure to create a sample to test the different sheens.

Will this work to wrap on a candle?
a candle can be tricky due to the fact that it's wax but one of our customers has been pretty successful - she posted in our Foil Everything Group page on Facebook - go check it out!!!
Do you have to paint the surface black for thy foils
We do suggest painting the surface first and a color that will compliment the foil is always best - most of the time black is a great option.
@@ArtisticPaintingStudio Thank You so much
Hi Jenn, Can we use clear varnish for the protective layer or clear glue?
clear topcoat is recommended for protection
What is the best base for mechanical bond for metallic foil.
Paint primer?
We love our Bondago paint/primer all in one!
How do I tell which side to keep up on clear twinkle, Monroe, fiona hologram?

Would the technique work on an old marble tabletop?
Yes, but you will need to prime the surface with something that will adhere to the marble top
Do u have to use the glue? Or will polyacrylic work as well?
You have to use the Foil Adhesive, this product transfers the metallic foils - it has to be a super sticky adhesive to make this happen.
Can I use krylon acrylic gloss spray
Yes, that should work fine :)
Will this technique work on ceramics?
Yes, just need to prepare the surface
Can this be done on tiles?
Yes, we have done tile trivets, tile back splash as well - you will need to prime that surface and then also seal with a good durable topcoat.
wow
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks!!!
Do you sell all these products
Yes we do - here is the website: www.artisticpaintingstudio.com
You say it needs 'protecting' but you don't say what with?
Just about any topcoat will work but our favorite is the Final Coat - you will find it on our website - www.apsfoils.com
