Hello, fresh baked! We ran into you about 2-3 weeks ago and got a photo together inside of the Toy Story parking lot with my family. Thank you for making my day. Keep up the good work.
This ride shouldn’t be breaking down this much at this point. Like seriously what happens overnight that a ride is left in working condition, but somehow cannot open the next morning for hours and hours?
We were there yesterday (12/13). Broke down once when we just got into line (Standby), so we left. The second time we tried, we made it all the way to the last switchback before loading (that cave tunnel area) and it broke down again. They had us turn around and exit out the queue. Terrible experience. Don't understand why a ride on an existing system keeps breaking down so much.
Young and inexperienced engineers led by a group of inexperienced and out of touch management unfortunately. I know some people in the company over on the Florida side and the person heading this project (I won’t name names) was more for the “look” rather than the substance / experience for this size of an overhaul. There were many large oversights and rush jobs / budget cuts.
Why does this ride continue to experience suboptimal outcomes ? Has anyone diagnosed the proximate cause for the continual breakdowns and Who is responsible for this perpetual terrible inexcusable guest experience ? What is wrong with the design of the attraction that this keeps happening ? Has this been resolved at WDW?
Agree standby looks brutal - If you can’t do lightning lane, I recommend doing standby after 9PM - just like with splash mountain, people don’t want to be wet and cold especially at night in the winter !
You can always count on fresh baked to make you feel like you are there. Thanks David . I really needed this today even if standby was a mess cause I was supposed to take a 5 hour plane trip and get in at 4:45 pm then spend Sunday in the park and home on a Monday night red eye. At a month from 77 you never know what body part will be out of warranty and on early Friday morning it turned out to be my back and hip. Sigh. Thank goodness for fresh baked to bring me right into the parkanyway
43 lightning lane people let through with only 8 standby going through... 43 of 51 riders were LL, which means 84% of the ride capacity was LL. Tell me lighning lane hasn't broken the park without telling me.
FreshBaked. David, did the old "Splash" ride go down so often? I don't think it did. I wonder if both versions of "Tiana's" are having the same exact problems or does each one have it's own set of problems in a general mix of downtime. I can see the day coming David when you'll have to bring your own chair sit outside the queue area all day and night to record all the different permentations on this ride. Cheers, Chris Perry.
I remember it did, the last time I rode it we used our fast pass at the end of the day because it broke down so much and right before we got on it as well
@ same I never noticed the cards come back but I’m probably so used to it not working that I wasnt paying attention but I’ll be at the parks tommorow aswell so I’ll check again
Love your videos! Park science videos are my favorite. I went to Disneyland and rode this ride for the first time. I have to say, the story told during the ride was a underwhelming. I am a splash mountain fan but thrilled to see Tiana get her own ride. I just wish the story was more exciting. 🤷♀️
I've noticed most of the breakdowns are first thing in the morning. This is a classic case in which rope dropping this attraction is not advised because of this reason.
@@FreshBakedDisneyBuy why? We need some investigative reporting! Because I cannot figure out why a ride would have so much trouble opening in the mornings when presumably it was running fine the night before.
I just got back from Disneyland on Saturday and I'm already watching videos planning my next trip for September. Thursday was okay, but Friday was a mad house. Was butt to belly button.
Anyone else ever have literally an awful day at Disney? 😢 My wife, daughter and I went yesterday. Maybe just had luck and timing on our part, but the whole day was extremely frustrating. Long line for parking, extremely long line for security, Rise broke down twice while we were in line, food order issue at Red Rose and a few other things. Honestly, all three of us just felt like it was our worst Disney day yet. We witnessed a lot of frustrated guests. We felt bad for those that bought full price tickets and had a rough experience. Ever just have a bad Disney day? 😢
We were there yesterday as well. Very crowded but surprisingly tamer than July 4th lol. Our first time not buying lightening lane in the past 4 years so the lines were a struggle, but we were surprised we got to ride 12 rides WITHOUT rope dropping. Thank you Freshbaked for teaching me when to skip out on a queue and come back later!
The ghosts of Splash Mountain are continually haunting Tiana. This ride has been having issues the day it opened. The price to get in are expensive and DLR customers deserve better than coming to the park and see an avg of 2-3 rides closed. They already suffered a lot of closing from HH, Pirates due to refurbishment, etc and price hikes on top of depriving 2nd half of December even when you paid the most expensive Magic Key. They did not do this before and did this now. DLR pls do better from people who have been buying the top tier MK passes every year. At least make top tier passes require no reservations and do not block out 2nd half of December. Wishful thinking; I know.
that would be scary if Tiana broke down just as your boat is going over the large waterfall.....you better hope no one is stuck at the bottom as your log boat is going down the waterfall.you don't want to crash into a stuck log boat ahead of you.
had a lightning yesterday (sunday) at noon, tiana broke down right as we got the loading area. was a cold day, so maybe we were saved from being frozen. we used the passes for runaway railway instead.
if any ride at Disneyland is down I would not be hanging around waiting for it to open again....I'd go to another ride.....you mention at the time of tapeing the show the ride had been down for 4 hours......during that time you can get on other rides....that is the best thing to do.
The attractions at the parks are just having issues. I've seen live streams and been myself where 3-5 of the Big attractions are done at once. This affects the park every E ticket that is down floods the rides around it with long lines and also just makes your 200 dollar ticket less worth it as you get to ride less attractions. I went and focused more on shows one day and had a better time then trying to go on rides because many of which just always have issues, like half the time I go Alice breaks down at or near rope drop. ROTR, Mickey and Tia's ride seem to go down daily now and Indy and Matterhorn also seem to have many days where they have to be shut down for a long time as well
At what point would they hand a guest a MEP? Only those on ride vehicles when it breaks down? Didn’t they use to hand them out if you got past at least the merge point with LL?
We got lucky on Wednesday. I think we waited no longer than 15 minutes. We got soaked! I don’t remember Splash Mountain being as clunky and as fast. The big drop seemed more intense!?!
I REALLY miss the old French Market. I know things change but back in the 90's (even before) they were the best. We had the old Premium Passes and living 5 mins from the park, we were there all the time and ate there almost every time. They had the best fried chicken in the world... the recipe changed in later years before disappearing altogether. Have tried everything at Tiana's and aside from the cornbread, not a fan at all.
They aren’t giving LL passes during breakdowns to those in line? Maybe they wait until after LL mix point to give those. I’ve always gotten free LL when rides break down but we always only do LL so we are after mix point - they always give free LL to someone who used LL and did not get on ride.

What is the point of such technologically advanced rides like Tiana's and Rise when they consistently break down? It's such a frustrating guest experience, especially on higher tier days. I don't see Disney fixing it long term, though. Rise has been open a few years and still has this issue.
Why are they not using that full garden space? I'm so confused! They made that beautiful line but not using it? Breakdowns are kind of expected, but figure out what is going wrong and fix it. Or...don't make the animatronics that complex? Splash was simple and they let it get run down by not maintaining it (from what people said about it anyway)
So done with Disneyland. Every time we visit all we can do is ride the Bust to the entrance eat and good luck actually ride several rides as everything has extremely long Lines. I guess all Disney cares is to pack the park with people and that’s it. It’s also our fault that we keep paying every time they raise prices. So we decided to cancel our passes. we will be 4 less people you guys have to worry about when your in line 😂
Tiana's is a creative-technical-political blunder. The Disney Co invested millions of dollars to strip down a perfectly good attraction & replace it with one that alludes to where slaves toiled away (a Louisiana salt mine) & audioanimatronics speak with a stereotypical black dialect (hey, gurl!). The kicker is that some of the electronics in the ride apparently are also buggy or wonky.
I like it. 🤷🏻♂️ In fact I like it better than Splash. So for me it’s not a blunder at all, though I would make a few changes to it and put some polish on it.
I loved the music from splash, but it always bugged me I never saw the IP it was connected to and that it’s no longer available to watch… but I’m not sure why it’s such a bad thing to make rides more relevant in theming? Now my kids won’t go on it being confused and will know the characters which is why we come to Disneyland? To see the characters we like from the movies?
