Yo honesty when my wife was filming she kept laughing as well at the jumps. We filmed this kata maybe 7-10 times LOL. But in the end got it done, oh and I am commenting from my Vlog channel btw

The jumps are made for competition,specifically for JKA.Theres a rule for JKA where you can get deducted points for not ending at the start of the kata point,so they made the jumps. And bro people made really silly bunkai for it like-

Chin te wenn man mit der angemahnten Rückfaust nicht durchkommt dann muß man den Rück Ellenbogen über die mahnhand gerollt deuten das befreit kurzfristig das Rückstand Bein schön ist wenn die Faust fest bleibt und das getroffene aufgibt das ist viel kritisiert mit der zurückgenommenen Faust aber das tradierte Karate stimmt vielleicht doch zumindest für die gesunde Art was aber auch viel als Fehleinschätzung kritisiert wird gesund soll nur Arbeit und Nahrung sein

JKA was upset that the kata doesn't finish the same place it starts (A lot of Chinese forms don't end where they start. They just don't have that requirement). So they added the jumps. Just my opinion, but dumbest reason for the modification of a kata ever. "Chin" is even in the name.
