Great video! They really are a great bike i love my RSV. I feel like Coleman listened to their fan base and really delivered with all the upgrades on this model.
Absolutely they did. I worked on the throttle yesterday.....big improvement! These things can boogie pretty good all stock.
I just bought one Saturday. Haven't ridden it yet. You can fix the headlight flicker by adding a capacitor to the headlight wires in the headlight bucket (hope there is room in there). It goes in parallel with the wires, NOT in series. Match the polarity on the capacitor with the output of the rectifier. I am putting a HF Ghost in mine. Waiting on lighting coil kit, Juggernaut clutch, exhaust, air filter etc. to complete the conversion. My neighbor thinks I am crazy - he's right.
Crazy......about mini bikes!! 😆
They are models that you can ride when you're done.
The bike looks pretty Stout and I could see how smooth it rides through the woods. Great brake system too. Great choice buddy 🔧👍
So far it gets the job done. I'm trying to catch up on things so I can ride it some more.
Was this a special order from Tractor supply and ballpark retail price? I see this on Coleman's site but not clear where to find it.
Man! I cant wait to get mine...if they dont carry the red one I will gladly take this one in a few months...my review will be coming soon👍
It'd be a nice bike for you to get around on out there. Very comfortable and well equipped for serious cruising.
awesome vid dude ...i got same one in red these boyz are boss hass especially with the cvt .. i run mine the same way you did in this video they are tanks to top it off i adjusted my govenor and getting 43 mph luv the bike
Glad you enjoyed it! I keep it raw and real, not much into editing or acting like I wanna be famous. One of the best upgrades I made so far is the tires. I also hopped up the engine a bit.....and added a battery pack with switch for the headlight. Awesome bikes.
Got one of these so far I’m loving it gonna do some future mods to it.
They really are quite nice when you get to working on them. Whoever put the design together payed attention. I've heard of a few parts being loose or needing adjustments but it's definitely not mine or the majority of them. I've done a few mods but I still have the governor and loving mini bike life.
Thanks for the review! I ordered one from TSC, online yesterday ,as none are available within 200+ mi . It will be here next week. The bike is shipping from AZ to my VT local store ?? Looks like there is limited inventory at this time.
They do seem that way. I highly recommend this bike, they have the strongest frame and best value for parts out there right now. They weigh in at about 160 pounds but ride very stable. Worst part on them might be the stock tires.
Fatbuddycat. It is good see you back. Doing a new video as always thanks for the videos keep them coming
I'm going to do single modification and ride videos to knock this one out rather than trying to cram everything at once.
Thanks can't wait
colman is realy steppin up the mini bike game. that bike is sweet .
It's very unique. I think it's a good fit for guys who have other projects going and just want something that is already complete. I'm going to upgrade a few things but not really modify it too much.
@@fatbuddycat FBC imagine seeing you here... 😂 Lol
@WesleySnyder I'm working a lot but I'm still trying to put out some content when I can.
BACK TO A 3/4" SHAFT! WOW!
It's actually a different brand on the engine altogether. The new Colemans have a Tao 196 instead of the Hisun that they ran for years.
That bike looks awesome. I think tires would be a huge improvement. Those look like the tires that came on my MM212. They are terrible. If you lean over at all it would spin out. Zero side traction.
That is exactly what happens! Vtreads not for me treads!
What do you have to assemble? How much of it? I remember an older Coleman I had was the tire and the handlebars only to assemble
I bought mine already assembled at tractor supply. I think it's just the front wheel assembly and handlebars.
Definitely looks like a good platform to start with. I think there were a coyple at the gps180.
May have been. I know the ones modified from hard tails did well. I honestly think the red frame ones are better for racing than the RSV but in the right hands anything is possible.
@fatbuddycat I agree, and it is hard to say exactly what bikes were there. Lol. Either way, it's a damn nice starting point. Especially for people that aren't looking to do any fabrication. Me personally, I can't leave anything alone!
@lucassarchet6712 that's why it's a good fit for me. As I modify my BT200X I can chill out on this thing.
@fatbuddycat I hear that for sure. I would like to get a mega moto for that same reason. I'm doing a couple videos for the Strictly Custom channel on my Gen 1 trailmaster upgrades. Bummed I can't tide it for now. Lol. I have plenty that I can but this one is so much fun.
Great review, I just picked up a unit in the box from Tractor Supply a couple weeks ago and have to assemble it (didn't want them to do it). My plan is to put on 21" tires and a bigger rear sprocket for climbing up and down steep hills exploring prospecting claims. I'm going for a modern Tote Gote type bike. Don't care about top speed, just low end power. Do you see a problem with that? Looking forward to what you're end up doing.
You are 💯 on that plan, my friend! I, too, feel like this bike is best set up like a new age, Tote Gote. I'm not sure if I said it in this video or on a post, but that is exactly what I compared it to. Tote Gote meets Heath Kit Boonie Bike with a modern design and components. I'll probably go 20 inch on the tires. I'm trying to choose but leaning towards an old-school looking knobby.
It may have a hub with 3 holes for the sprocket. I don't think anyone is selling larger 3 hole sprockets that will fit. You may have to get a 4 hole and drill for the three hole pattern.
You could run a 9 tooth on the jackshaft but it will not be enough of a change that you are looking for. The 8 tooth is not very robust and quite a turn for a 420 chain to make. I have one on one of my bikes and it is a concern but has held up to more than stock power.
@Deucealive75 chain clearance around the swingarm would have to increase in order to go smaller at the jackshaft. I have the 3 hole adapter but wasn't planning on using it.
@@fatbuddycat Look forward to seeing what tire you end up with. The Greenworks electric mini bike at Tractor Supply has the same size 19x7.00-8 tires as the Coleman RSV (different tread pattern) but they are at least 1.5" taller in diameter. The brand was Junkai. Couldn't figure out the huge difference in diameter other than Chinese quality control drama.
@@georgecarousos6735 I have those tires on my BT210X.
What type of fuel does these take
Hey guys just finally got my rsv delivered , hey fat buddy cat your opinion should I put a zip tie on governor spring or am I at risk of damage ? Thanks you have always responded with good info , thanks Joe G
Depends if you plan on upgrading at some point. I'm running a Ducar 212 with the governor removed but I installed a 5250rpm limited coil. The torque converter will help keep rpm down while under a load but when you start getting around 4500 you are risking the flywheel most.
So you think by zipping the spring it could potentially exceed a safe rpm ? If that is so not worth it .plan on upgrading motor later on but I want to keep it reliable for now . Thanks for your input
@joegenova1198 the stock engine is just as good as any. I only changed mine because I wanted to test out a limited coil to see if I like it better than a regular governor. I bet I could build the stock engine better using one as well.
waiting for mine up here in Minnesota, whats the stock top speed on the bike, just wondering how much the Torque Converter slowed it down, thanks
I've heard between 38 and 50. It definitely has legs top end.
@@fatbuddycat Thanks what motor is in the B200rsv
@sandykollmann4970 Tao 196. It's a gx200 clone. My favorite engine to modify.
can you put a 212cc engine on it? and whats top speed without govener. nice video btw
I don't really get caught up in the whole top speed thing with minibikes. It's got a Ducar 212 with the governor removed and a 5250rpm coil installed on it presently. I probably get it up around 35 in the yard and top out somewhere around 50 if I had enough room to stretch her legs.
How do you take out the air filter on this bike? I cant take off the cover because the frame is in the way.
Gotta use some finesse, it'll come off. I had mine off and on twice now doing modifications.
@@fatbuddycat I tried for 15 minutes and gave up. My first mods were a 1/4 turn nibbi throttle tube, NGK Bp6es spark plug, some nice pro taper grips and one of those mini windshields lol. I want fork boots and some sunf power ii tires and a gold/black chain.
@marchufnagel9068 I totally want fork boots too!
Awesome, i bought 2 of them about a week ago.
Good times ahead! These would be cool bikes to hit recreational trails on. Nice and quiet but well equipped.
Yeah, Didn't notice till I got them home that one sits little taller then the other so I'm trying to figure that out.
@@dwaynesmirl3109 are the rear shocks attached at the same holes? I know someone who used the 2 lower holes. It puts the shocks at more of an angle but lifts the rear up about an inch. I'm not sure if he drilled the holes but it is a thing that has been accomplished.
@@fatbuddycat yeah they are in the same holes.
I didn't like the initial re-design but this thing is F$#CKING awesome!
I felt the same way. When I saw this in person I had to get on it. Looks like a fighter jet but moves like a utility machine. I dig it. Needs a few minor tweaks like tires, throttle linkage and maybe a little more power.
I just bought one few days ago and mine is missing firing not sure why
It's not anything too serious I'm sure. A misfire could be spark or fuel related. Bad gas, in correct coil gap or the spark plug. I start with the easiest and work my way in when diagnosing such issues.
I was wondering how the chain tension varies with the suspension actuating?
When you sit on it the chain gets a little tighter. It doesn't move far but it absorbs bumps that I'd otherwise feel for sure. This mini bike is perfect to have around a campground and for recreational purposes where modified bikes are frowned upon. It's a very practical setup that has a distinct ambience, high class meets utilitarian money saver.
@@fatbuddycat I like that idea; It's nice to also have a fuel efficient mini bike around and an unmodified 196 is about as fuel efficient as they get!
They look pretty nice. How does it's ride compare to the Trailmaster?
Very different. This is better suited for well minded adults with intentions of doing mild recreational activities. It's an amazing value and really setup quite nice. It's got more class than a Trailmaster.
Trailmaster is better for the modified crowd for sure.
I own a bunch of Coleman mini bikes I just purchased this one mine shakes a lot more than my other one’s
They need a crank shim added to clean up the end play on the shaft.
Which is better, this new Coleman or the Trailmaster MB200X ?
@franknapolitano9144 I owned a Trailmaster already. I prefer the Coleman. The RSV is tough. There's a dude on Facebook (robby morris) who makes a swingarm relocation kit if you wanted to lift it up higher like a Trailmaster. Stock I had issues with the MB200-2, they look cool till you touch them and realize how cheap the plastics, foot pegs and seat are. If you dump about 2500 into a Trailmaster with some custom upgrades they improve.
Very Nice High Quality Mini Bike!
It even has anti vibration risers for the handlebars. I didn't notice it at first. They added a lot of cool features to these right from the factory.
Hey Buddy; Happy New Year
To you as well! Hope the new healthy lifestyle is still going strong brother.
Awesome bike but I was just on their website it looks like you have to order this bike piece by piece????? How much did it cost????
Tractor Supply. Whole bike assembled was just under $1k.
@@fatbuddycat thanks
@stevewoodzell1618 you're welcome. They are difficult to find right now but I have a good feeling that more will be rolling out at the stores.
I searched around d couldn't find a price or even a location to get one near me
They are 1k at Tractor Supply. There's other stores related to TSC that I've heard of selling them too but that was west of the East coast.
@@fatbuddycat look pretty nice next to my hurricane
Hey RSV owners , just wondering how your supposed to service air cleaner without taking carb off ? That’s probably why I’m gonna need a better carb ! Welcome to my money pit oh well, someone explain that to my wife!!!
ISeems to be a nice deal for 1K. What's the ground clearance?
I'd have to measure but it's not huge. It will improve with better tires.
That's the only complaint. I don't like those Tires
@greggory448 they rip but they definitely don't grip! 😄 so muddy!
Cant get one in Washington state unfortunately 😢
Good video. Just subscribed. 💯👊
Thanks! I'll be go over my upgrades one by one. Nothing too serious but I can definitely squeeze a little more out while keeping the stock look.
Nice bike
It's not the worst. They definitely aimed it towards campers rather than the performance enthusiasts. It rides like a classier version of the 212pro. I'd be comfortable admitting that the red hard tail models would be better for racing and such. The 12mm axles are the part I don't really like.
awesome.God bless.
Thanks! May God bless you as well.
Y Hey Buddy ya was supposed to use 15-40 weight oil. It's got all the vitamins in it .
I add my own vitamins. I've been running 10w30 with zinc for a while now. It gets cold up here in the winter, 15w40 stays a little thick in the pot sometimes. Where these are oil sling engines, I get better lubrication before the engine reaches optimal running temps. When the weather gets warmer, I might run a heavier weight.
I think they were smoking the good stuff when they wrote 15W40. I wouldn't use that motor honey in any of my engines minibike or not. It may be something to consider if you are doing an endurance race in 85-degree weather.
@Deucealive75 💯% correct. Tao motors pulled some stuff like that with recommendations for my TBR7 250 dual sport.
What Retailers sell this online?
It's not available online yet last time I checked. People are getting them at Tractor Supply for the most part.
Only found at selected tractor supplies.
@ElijahMiniBikes I'm surprised it showed up in NH let alone the closest one to my house.
Beaver creek froze over
It had water in it again last night. Lol one side of the driveway along the road is washed out. It's super tempting to try and ride a mini bike through even though I know it probably won't end well.
That thing needs a hot 212. Or a wildcat!
Wait till I get to working my magic! I can pull some more power out of this 196 for sure. I'm going to ramp up the compression and add a different throttle linkage first.
@@fatbuddycat step by step
@mklein5179 first the linkage to get full throttle working. Once I do that we can test the full stock potential. I'm going outside to install one now. My new job takes a lot of my time and physical energy. Weekends are boss though!
😢dang I wish i would have gotten this one before I bought the other five older ones i would trade to new 200 for this one 😢
Coleman did a nice job putting it together. These should be around and more available soon. At a thousand bucks you are getting a lot of good quality mini bike to ride. The red frame, hard taill ones are getting really nice as well.
I want
It has anti vibration risers for the handlebars too. This is my favorite stock mini thus far. My
Super comfortable bike to ride. It's like a high class utility mini.
Coleman needs to make 2WD.
Fatbuddycat. Applied the wrong brake🤣🤣
Lol yup! 😆 it kinda makes sense that it's the rear on the left.
Done the same thing myself 🤣🤣
@@albertpeterson7134 I was totally testing the rear brake out just to be sure.....🙄.....😆
😂rear brake
😆 totally not use to having 2 levers!
What type of fuel does these take
you can run 87
