- Volkswagen showcased its first electric offering for India, the ID.4, at the annual brand conference in Jaipur. The ID.4 is scheduled to be launched later this year. The event also featured the unveiling of the latest dark and sporty additions to VW’s Taigun lineup, including the new GT Plus Sport and a new Taigun GT Line powered by the 1.0L TSI petrol engine, available with 6-speed automatic and manual transmission options.
With the new introductions, the Taigun lineup now offers three trim plans: ‘GT Edge’, ‘Chrome’, and ‘Sport’. However, Volkswagen also made it clear that depending on market feedback, the variants can be rationalized.
Additionally, a sporty concept for the Virtus sedan was presented, featuring black aesthetics. We spoke to Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Volkswagen India, about the launch dates and also asked him a question many enthusiasts want to know the answer to: Is there any Polo in the future? Please watch and share your feedback.

This guy should move out, he spoiling the once amazing vw lineup, the one they had in 2010
So, you are the one who buys Toureg & Phaeton
Vw polo once 10 rs now 50rs premium gets premium vw not for upur mind
He may be pulling Vw To Suzuki levels 😞
They doesnt understand indian market mentality
polo GT is gem still they are focusing on Tiguan which isnt not even getting noticed
He says the customers have the buying power and they don't want to make compromises. Bt why do VW cars still don't have features which are becoming benchmark (auto hold, EPB, 360 degree camera, ADAS....) these days
And no disc brakes in the rear 😅
What is epb ?
@@jijin973 Electronic parking brake
2,500 imports/year rule should not be limited for testing the waters..you need to bring in slew of cars to keep the customers engaged & diversify the offerings
Instead of bringing just the ID.4, bring in
. the Polo R-line (115PS)
. ID. Buzz (short wheel base)
. Golf clubsport
. Passat estate
. ID. 4/5
This is where you have done a longterm miscalculation 👇
You have really watered down the build quality over these years to bring down the cost/prop up your profit..compare the shocks, sheet metal, stabilizer links, rear axle of the initial batch of Polos with the newer one..the difference is day & night
Even the sound deadening has been drastically reduced, door closing doesn't have that thud sound, longevity of components like seat cushions are pathetic now..build to last feel is long gone
Localization doesn't mean you should water down the quality..maintaining quality should be your focus when localising esp. for a brand like VW as it's your main USP..(aim for @least 80% of the quality of euro spec parts)
No one buys with the expectation of owning a VW to be in-line with Maruti in terms of cost, expect you guys
Regarding variants
Provide a varient with the full on VW experience (with euro spec parts, ample sound deadening thicker sheet metal etc) those who buy VW for what it represents can buy this varient
Instead of chrome line & de-chromed gimmicky variants separate them by engine, transmission & offer packages like - sports oriented, infotainment oriented, safety oriented, comfort & acoustics oriented
Their VW and Skoda dealerships are struggling, unable to deliver the required quality in any aspects. Ashish is only the sales guy and no one looking at the overall commitment. So called premium brand is going down with their dealerships
Ashish behaving as if they are selling highest selling vehicles in India ...and they are market leaders ...boss pls talk with your feet on ground ...flaunt less of European akad ..😂😂
They need to just sell 1lakh vehicles an entire year yes they do act a bit weird 😂😂😂
We need polo please 🥹
Polo kab ayegi
I had two polos, one i sold off, and the other one is kept as a souvenir of how great VW was a decade back. 💔
And India is a small market😂 thats the most absurd thing i heard since virtus being the successor of polo. And polo as a suv?? 😂😂
VW ka india mei patan ka kaaran yeh mahaan aadmi hai
Never seen such a non chalantly blatant and incoherent opinion. One instance says we need to localise segment one instance moves to global product . Calls India a small market whereas it’s clear to anyone the market is huge. Customers crying for the Polo but blatantly ignoring the feedback and making cosmetic updates to existing line up literally 200 rupay wala paint job dechrome and misusing the GT badge .
Just bring back the old shell Polo with facelifts a 1.5 TSI evo manual and sell it at premium there’s a market for it .
This guy will bring VW down to kneels
India is a small car market that's why he says India is a small market.
@@Webcatchyou yeah! The 3rd or 4th largest car market in the world is a small market for Mr Gupta
Most car sales are under 10 lakhs(11000$) that's the reason. Compared to other markets which have sales of above 25000$ cars. Brands operate them with high margins. Please take a look at Germany where sales are much lower than in India but the cost of new sales is much higher.
@@Webcatchyou hence the sale of creta Verna vitaras are so high right; cars which start at around 10lakhs and go upto 22 lakhs. See me coming from a VW fan boy with 3 VWs in my garage compared to my old ones the new ones just seem so inferior when it comes to quality and the essence of it for which 10 years ago I chose VW as my go-to brand . Price is not the issue justify or atleast match it as per the old quality standards. As a VW customer I or anyone would shell the price but give us what we deserve
@@Webcatchyou and this is not about price of cars or anything it's VW not giving customers what they want. Give back the old one touches, the signature trumpet horn the underbody insulation
If any one is interviewing him again...ask about the poor interior quality...will they improve
Waiting for Polo GTI
Super confusing 😂😂
GT should be reserved for 1.5 TSI only.
What... Did anyone understand the variants?
No. All I know is there is GT, GT Plus, GT Plus Sport, GT Line, GT Line Sports, GT Line Plus, GT Line Sports Plus.........list goes on
Yes..in a nutshell, there are no new variants, no new products..just some gimmicky things
It feels like VW is going to be the next Fiat/Ford, very soon they will understand they can't keep a float without launching new models
Polo Suv? Hain? Please don't bring it if that's the case
Too late, it’s already here - the Taigun
@@newka5472skoda is launching sub4meter SUV. VW sometimes also consider it as under 10 lakh car.
ID4 is a bad car and VW wants to launch at a very premium price. European manufacturers should not underestimate Indian car buyers.
I don't know how they have him as head of VW. He doesn't know what he is talking about.
Spot on.
No tdi no sales for vwskoda... cosmetic changes never improve sales.... soon midsize suvs chapter ll be closed for VAG😂😂
Yes spot on..VW's decision to discontinue the brilliant TDi engine to sweep the emission scandal under the rugs have back fired big time
Instead they should have made it much more cleaner & more punchier than before..could have cleared their wrong doing this way instead
used car dept of VW DasWelt is worst..they discourage and devalue used VW cars ..they quote peanut value when going for exchange ..and sayy the resale values of VW cars is very less....in such case why would customer exchange VW car for another VW car which would not have resale value in future......
CEO Volkswagen India we need Global market cars in India roads Soon 2024-2025 FY Year expecting.
Volkswagen Polo New
Volkswagen GTI New
Volkswagen Golf GTI New
Volkswagen Jetta New
Volkswagen Passat New
It's he wearing lipstick!?
Polo suv😢
May be sister of skoda sub 4 metre suv.
One look and it's clear this guy isn't capable of taking VW forward. Infact VW service is deplorable at best. Shody service centres, with rowdy like drivers. No care for customers also with pathetic run down infrastructure and waiting areas.
Such pathetic customer care and post sale service…VW is surviving only because of its engine, everything else is crap…
PS : Switched to VW from Hyundai and this is my experience
