Man I wished he kept the same gui as the last one. Either way, these are the best most unkown plugins on the market imo AND also the one of the most informative UA-cam channels around. Huge respect to Gregory Scott
Thanks for the video and review. It's disappointing that Kush had FOUR YEARS to add Apple silicon support to UBK-1, but they ignored customer requests. I prefer the simplicity and UI of the UBK-1 over UBK-2. Very disappointed in the company...
Played with this plugin for a little bit on a mix bus of a song I’m working on. I like Greg Scott and Kush Audio plugins. I’m glad I subscribed to his plugins for $12 a month. This plugin adds thickness and weight to your sound for sure
This sounds very good, the GUI is well done. Combining saturation with compression is a nice effect, as I use separate plug-ins to do this now. Since I believe I can get similar results from what I've got now, I'll not need this one though, saving the money for something I do need.
FOR FREE !!! lucky me did have the subscription a while but recently (enough) decided to buy just REDDI, Clariphonic MK2 and UBK-1......... So free upgrade for me
What would help me enjoy watching these reviews is more comparisons. Id like to know how this compares to a stock comp & any 3rd Party comp/sat plugin that u have installed and think sounds great. We all have like hundreds of plugins installed, this doesnt help me decide if i need another one or not
Although you make a fair point, it wont work out inreality, I have 30+ compressors on my system due to me being a review channel and I have access to those. In regards with stock comp: when I would do that in a video, 100% guaranteed people wil ask: why not test the stock comp of this and that daw which is also a bottomless pit. I will do such comparisons from time to time and also between 3rd party plugins. But you can never satisfy everyone. Thats why i say : try it out for yourself to find out if...
@@audiotoolshed Hmm, i see How about this: U pick one single compressor plugin that can do all the major types of compression, a classic one that many people have statistically, like Pro-C or anything that emulates many comps, for EQ maybe Pro-Q would do or Kirchoff In case it comes off as an Ad for those plugins u often clarify when ur not being sponsored in ur videos anyways, so thats not gonna be an issue, i believe I know this isnt ur problem but ours, i just think that itd fit in very comfortably within ur videos
There is a very important piece of information missing. Is it scalable... It doesn't seem to be. Like other Kush plugins, which unfortunately makes them useless on larger, high-resolution screens. Too bad. They sound great, but they are too small to work with comfortably.
it aliases like shit... I don't need it to do 100 things all poorly, I need one but well done... Why people are so obsessed with destroying the sound at all times is beyond me... if you want saturation either go for multi band Saturn or use a waveshaper and call it a day
Arguably u dont even need it to do one thing well. Theres so many good plugins that "good" isnt good enough anymore. We need something innovative, not another "good" plugin
First, it does have internal anti-aliasing algo and in the future update, according to UBK there will be oversampling options. Second, aliasing doesn't mean poor quality. Check decapitator, it aliases like shit as well, but everyone still uses it and see it as the holy grail of saturation. Lastly, people use different saturation plugins because they all have different sounds, why do people use analog eq when they have pro-Q3?

Yes, because of this UI, I wouldn't hesitate to continue using UBK-1, even if there are any discounts or free upgrade offers.

I don’t need saturation I need that hard punchy hitting sound of hardware sound.. something similar to Arts Acoustics CL compressor
A lot of plugins emulate odd harmonics, but hardware I find has more of the 2nd order and less odd. The 2nd even is that punch.
If ur on a budget, get Access Analog and let ur drums run through the SSL Bus Plus. Might cost u like 2 credits (thats like 2$)
