Normally, the score is for the routines, not the routines for the score!!! I'm sorry Sabrina lost points. And that instead of gymnastics, they have to be careful how the points are calculated!
Since they allow LOSO + LOSO to fulfill the acro series CR, they should allow switch leap + switch leap to fulfill the dance series CR and give it the 0.1 CV.
Pause at 1:07, we can see that at TF her feet (and low body) were slightly pointing sidewards when she landed on beam. For us at the opposite side is a bit subtle, but for the judges that are on that side it's more evident. Sabrina definitely should get back a backup connection, like a split + wolf, as she used to.
That switch leap 1/2 is so poor in quality: no full split, bent knees, flat feet, poor arm position and under rotated. 😮. However the decision to downgrade the element was ridiculous and an example of throwing the book at a gymnast. Similarly poorly done switch leaps are done all the time and they don’t get downgraded, just clobbered with deductions.
Her switch 1/2 in the earlier round isn't bad at all, she does get a full split and legs are fully turned 1/2 in the air, with a solid landing. Her upper body is also in line with the split, many people do that wrong. She doesn't get as good of a split in the team final, but it's not the worst, and they need to change the system when it comes to these downgrade scenarios, she clearly did more than a regular switch leap.
I understand the downgrade here but not crediting the leap series is a bit ridiculous. You can complete the same acro skill connected and receive acro series credit. So yeah, she wouldn’t be able to count the second switch leap in her difficulty value but she still performed the leap series. But that’s what the code says so what can you do
This does not account for the fact that se only did a tour jete half, not a tour jete full... which would also lose her 0.1 on her D score? Does she not still get the 0.1 series bonus because you are allowed to repeat skills for that one?
I thought the same, but apparently the tour jete full was never credited in the previous days either, so in the TF she just went for a half one to be sure. Also, the tour jete is a different element than the one showed in this video, though they look very similar.
@@coradyne I did not realize it was never credited. A few people did clarify that it was not the source of the repetition, but I thought it was still causing some impact due to the downgrade.
This is not specific to get.. but I dunno how coaches of the last 2 decades just ignore feet and knees. Being able to do a 180° split leap should be standard for a gymnast. With straight legs and pointed toes. Even on beam. But 95% of gymnast can't do it. Which is just shocking to me.
Maybe she needs an additional coach or a different coach? Since they do not show the Romanian gymnastics much at all on UA-cam for the Paris Olympics, I suspect this as very suspicious.
The downgrade was accurate, although I'm surprised they don't downgrade to a Johnson (switch leap 1/4), but that's probably because that skill needs to finish in cross position. Harsh, but accurate.
Switch half is a cross split element, Johnson is a straddle element (side split), they're not of the same type. Also, the Code only recognises half turns, and states that a switch 1/2 must be devalued to a switch.
elementul a fost retrogradat, nu repetat. Prin retrogradare, a ajuns sa fie considerat similar cu prima saritura din serie (cea simpla, fara nicio intoarcere) si atunci a fost ca si cand a repetat elementul.
Yikes! This is a cery clear example of the importance of having a deep understanding of the code when constructing routines

That should’ve been contested
Agree. These leaps are badly done but downgrading them was totally absurd.
It was, but the inquiry was declined.
Those judges were doing too much. Downgrading that is a bit of a stretch

To me, there seems to be no difference in her routines. Probably because im not a judge.
She needs to first half turn on air and then do the split. In team final she starts splitting before finished the half turn.
@@leykimayri No she doesn't, her legs are fully turned 1/2 and in split position at that point. Pause the video and look closely.

They only downgrade switch halves to a Johnson if it passes through a straddle or middle split instead of cross split
