Do you know if you can do a review playback of videos on the monitor + app? When I playback it only shows on the camera LCD
Hello. You can but only the proxys that you record on your smartphone. You need to turn this feature on in the app but personaly I always review the videos on my camrea. The ones on the smartphone are low resolution and fps.

I am using a wired connection between my Sony A6600 and the Monitor+ app using the included Multiport to USB cable running into the Lightning-to-USB-camera-adapter from Apple. But when wiring like this I notice that SteadyShot is turned off int the camera. Does this happen because I’m using the Multiport and not the HDMI port? Does the same problem occur when using the HDMI port?
Hello. Sony cameras have a weird way of turning off stabilisation or eye detect AF when using USB or HDMI. I experience the same thing. Thanks for the comment. Cheers!
I used the app with an android tablet to have a larger screen for live client review and did not have the camera settings to save to SD Card + PC Connection - I can see all the photos on the app, but do not see a way to export them. They do not show up on the device storage. Any idea? I can select them images and share to other apps, but looking to just import the files directly. Thanks
Hm! Not really sure. They have to be on the device. Maybe under the app folder. I always store everything on the camera so I really have no experience with this. Thanks for the comment. Cheers!

Thank you for your videos because you learn a lot with them. I upgraded from the Sony Alpha 7 III to the Alpha 7 IV in order to use the Monitor Plus APP. I have paired it, but there is a very uncomfortable delay / latency. I don't know if you have to buy the extension for those 20 euros, and with that solve it, or even if I buy it, it won't solve it. Could you tell me if there is any way to fix it? Thank you so much. Arturo Chico
Hello. Thanks for the nice comment. The delay or frame rate drop is there with the full version as well. The only way to have smooth feedback is to use the HDMI and an actual video monitor. This app is a quick and easy solution but not a "professional" choice. Cheers!

i got a Sony A7 iii when i connect my samsung galaxy s21 ultra usbc to usbc it works but when i connect my samsung tablet A8 it connect the picture show on the tablet but the it freze you have any idear when i can do ?

Hello. A7III works only with a wired connection. You can now connect an iPhone by using the Thunderbolt to USB-C adapter. I haven't tried it but it's supposed to work.
There is no problem for Android devices.

i cant seem to import luts ( i dont see open with suggestion for Monitor+ ) after importing the lut to my files on iphone
Hello. Hold the finger on the LUT icon. A side menu will appear.

Hello, I have a problem with portrait mode. when I change the camera orientation, the settings in the application are set correctly but the image is not. help :)
Hm. I actually never used my camera in portrait orientation for video. I don't think the app supports vertical video recording. Maybe there is an update of the app available.

I'm wondering if you, or anyone else here, tried an a7c with monitor+ premium version and can tell me if tap to focus really works! I don't want to lose my money if Sony just blocked this function in this model :'(
I used to work in product photography with my old a7II and imaging edge (horrible app xD), so I usually hanged the camera high with a tripod, and then made focus directly on the app. Now with my new a7c, tap to focus (at Imaging Edge) isn't working. I read on different places that it isn't compatible with this model, so I'm now searching for an app or method to replace my lost workflow.
(Sorry about my bad English 😅, I hope somebody understands what I meant!)

Monitor + shows my iPhone connected to my Sony ZV-E10 yet all I see on my phone is the connection screen. It does not show the live view on the camera. I find this app tremendously buggy and it makes me want to jump out the window (but I work on the ground floor so I'd just end up in the shrubbery). And yes, the lens cap is off. Any suggestions?
😆👍👍 I know that there was an issue with some app versions before where you couldn't go into live view. Maybe try an older/newer version if you can find it. Also try to connect with the cable, if you are connecting with WiFi or the other way around. You can now connect an iPhone with the USB-C connection using the USB adapter cable. What’s the experience like doing manual focus pulls in-app? I’d like to be in some of my own short films, and if this can save me from buying my own wireless follow focus, that’d be great.

Using monitor+ on a ipad (usb-c) or iphone (using usb to lightning adapter) now is so easy on the newest sony cameras like the zv-e1 its silly wireless is still messy at times but wired is now near perfect for video and photo mode.. guess thethered photo shooting could be better i should mail the developer but they are close.

For some reason it’s super glitchy when I start recording, but only when I’m recording not when I’m just looking at the live view feed on my iPad. Using a wired connection. Anyone know the fix?
i got a problem. the app is running and i got the camera connected too, but the screen on the phone is black but on the camera is good. its like the phone detected the camera but it doesnt show whats the setting is and the view

Is it possible to shoot vertically with the app? Mine, when I turn the camera to a vertical position (with the cell phone in "standing"/"stories" format), the view on the cell phone is in portrait mode, that is, it loses all the advantage of using the cell phone as an external monitor , and in addition the cell phone image is the opposite of the camera image. Is there any way to fix this?

While connected to the camera . Go to settings, and there are view settings ( auto, portrait, and landscape ). Select landscape view, and it will not rotate out of landscape view.

A wired connection works only on Android devices. Sorry.
@@M1R0_Life_through_a_lens You're wrong. A wired connection does work with iPhone, and it explicitly says it does on the Monitor+ website - even in the screenshot on your video it says wired works. You just need a lightning-to-USB adapter.
what model is that holding your phone as a the monitor mount ?

Hello. Yes but not at the same time. You have to activate the app on the device you are using. It's tied to a registered phone number/account where you receive an activation code that you can then use for activation on any device with an internet connection. Cheers!
HELP.i use Iphone when connecting, the phone screen only shows "no signal" and the remaining parameters such as ISO, shutter speed,... can still be controlled, but only the screen is no signal. Thank you
Hello. I'm not really sure but you're not the first one that has this problem. It seems that iPhone has issues with connectivity.
When I record video and have it save both to phone and camera. The audio will be recorded from the mics I had connected to the camera on the SD card but it will use the phone audio for the recording saved to the phone...
Hello. The videos recorded on the phone are meant for reviewing and not for using. These are just low res proxy files. I never record on my smartphone so I have no troubles 😆. Thanks for the comment. Cheers!

Does anyone know anything about the Sony a7sii and this app?
I have an android and this camera, and for some reason I can only get it to work without seeing any video. It says "no signal", but I have been able to change settings and start a video. I am about to get HDMI cables for it to see if that works, but am wondering if that may not work either? Does anyone have this setup and have any thoughts? Thanks!
Hello. I think the HDMI will not work because you need to control the camera with the smartphone. Is the a7II supported by the app?
hi, I have the same set up with the A7sii. Just in case you haven't figured it out yet, set the camera Mode dial to A or M. USB on the camera menu should be set to PC Remote and disable USB power. If your android support OTG, you will see the android screen come to life. you can then set the mode dial to Video. btw, this same set up also works for iPhone and ipad pro, with lightning or usb OTG adaptor. I have also used a $10 HDMI capture card. it also works. With the paid pro monitor+ version, the mobile devices are turned into a full fledge working field monitor, except when it is too bright outdoor. hope the info helps. happy shooting.

Hello. Are you connecting with your camera through the USB-C port? In this case you don't need an OTG adapter. Just a regular USB-C to USB-C cable. This might be a problem. Not sure if it works with micro-USB.
Also try connecting with the camera in photo mode. Sometimes that helps and make sure the PC remote is selected as an USB connection option on the camera. Try different USB connection options on the S10. In my case I have the Transferring files option selected. I know this is in the video but that's all there is. Oh... You should also allow any permissions that your smartphone asks about the connection.

@@M1R0_Life_through_a_lens i think ive gone through almost all listed most of the cables i have a usb A - usb C hence the adapter, the last thing i tried was my very short usb c - usb c cable that came with may mavic air2 s and still nothing, ill definitely try again tomorrow. Im exasted from all the trials and error today
@@M1R0_Life_through_a_lens it seems that the charging cable i was using along with the adaptor was the culprit after running back through all the instructions and just switching out the cable to my usb c to usb c cable that came with my drone it and rebooted everything it just popped up and is now working. will definatlyneed to order a cable now as not to mess up my drone cable asap but it works thanks man.

Does this same issue come up when using an hdmi based external monitor? This framerate drop during recording is a but of a deal breaker for me with this app.
@@WeastintheEast Unfortunately I coulnt figure out how to get my frames back when recording, so I did end up getting an HDMI external monitor for around $150 that works great without any loss in frames
May I ask what kind of phone mount you are using here?

I have the newest phone, Sony A7sIII ... and i can't just do a simple Playback of the videos taken ... Why? 😢
Hello. You need to record the video to your smartphone to be able to see the playback. But that's just for reviewing. The recorded videos are low res proxies. It is a downside of the app.

i noticed, that when i have my camera set to movie mode then the fps is around 15, when i change my camera to photo mode, then the fps is about 25.

Hello. Ok. Are you trying to connect to an iPhone or an android device? You can only connect the a6400 via USB and that only works for android devices.

Sometimes the problem is the cable. You should have a standard USB-C to USB-C cable. Also try swimming your camera to photo mode for that first connection and make sure PC remote USB option is set on the camera and file transfer or something similar is set on your smartphone.
Same here. I have a Sony a6300 and a Samsung A32 5g phone. I'm using a capture card, usb-c into my phone and micro hdmi into the camera. PC remote options is turned on and transfering files options on my phone. I got the monitor+ pro and the first pop up before connection seem normal but then the monitor and screen turn black. Then iso/shutter speed options etc disappear. My lens cap is off and photo mode is turned on inciailly. Been going at this for a few days now. Driving me crazy!
Hello. Try it with just a USB-C to USB-C cable. I'm not sure the app works with hdmi.

Did you set the USB option to PC remote on the camera? Also make sure you smartphone is OTG compatible. If you have an iPhone, you need an adapter to get to USB-C and then use a USB-C to USB-C cable.

How in the flipping flippity flip-flip 🤬 do you forget a camera via Bluetooth?!? I don't want to use BT, I want to use WiFi. The QR code will not scan (another what the whating what) and I have tried to manually login to the FX3 via WiFi. However, the app wants to use Bluetooth. There is no way I can find to tell the app to forget, stop, quit, cease and desist, or knock it the French Toast off. It tries via BT, then shrugs. FFS. What if I sold my camera and got a new one? Can I not remove previously connected cameras?
If not, it's 2023.
If yes, why do I have to sacrifice a goat and learn the secret handshake required to remove a previous connection?!?

@@M1R0_Life_through_a_lens I managed to brute force myself into interesting positions, including having a camera registered to WiFi but not BT... but it refused to connect. There's also some kind of dark magic at work - I removed the registered smartphones from my camera, and the app - which "couldn't" connect - connected and removed the smartphones.
Sony... I... SMH. 🤷
