- From The Practice, season 8, episode 18, "The Case Against Alan Shore Part 3". Some of the best "Denny Crane!" moments, in my opinion, were actually in the final season of The Practice, rather than Boston Legal.

I love Shatner going "DENNY CRANE!" with increasing energy at the most random moments.
It's his version of "I am Groot!".
@@richardm3023 SO true.
The opposite of random😁
Reminiscent of Peter Griffin's "Roadhouse!"
It is funny
Denny was exactly right about the opposing counsel arriving late to try and force an issue of power.
I'm going to use that in meetings from now on
It is a fairly common tactic when trying to establish authority or dominance-- when you impose your schedule on others you are asserting power.
Another such tactic is in your office, always place your desk with your back to the window. People sitting in front of you see you framed against it and it's wide, it's open, not limited. It's a psychological ploy. saying you don't have limits and are not boxed in. You're confident and have authority.
The ending is so epic, it's not even a joke. That was his whole opening statement. He got up for the opening statement at Trial, looked at the jury and said, "Denny Crane" and sat down. How epic is that? Brilliant.
Wonderful 🤣
Even if David Kelley had never written a word in his life, casting Shatner in this role would make him a genius.
He was a genius when he snatched up that wife.
MaxwellsDemon9 - AMEN!
@@Pip-ti9xp DENNY CRANE!
I agree.
There's narcissism, there's ego-mania...and then there's Denny Crane.
"Denny Crane" is right up there with "I am Groot" at conveying emotion...
👍🏽🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We Are Denny Crane
Matt Damon.
Hodor!
I am pretty sure I am Grut is how Grute says Denny Crane................................LOL
I actually say DENNY CRANE to Strangers...just to see their reaction......and it's worth it Every Damn Time.
This is a a great idea 😂
Sally Heap!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He won 2.3mn and waived them from paying, it was not about money it was just about being Alan Shore
It amazes me how Shore simultaneously panders to and mocks Crane's ego.
And with that the greatest friendship was born...
That was the start of a beautiful and enduring friendship in a profession that has few friends... when an irresistible force meets an immovable object.... perfect harmony...
I kind of like how Alan has maybe the least emotive reaction to Denny saying "Denny Crane", out of anyone in the series.
I look them in the eye...Denny Crane...gives them something to tell their grandkids...Denny Crane.
I know this video is about Denny Crane but man James Spader is some different level of an actor. This, practice, boston legal. I fking love everyone of his monologues in the shows
This was such a great show. The Alan Shore and Denny Crane characters were awesome.
Sure love Alan Shore and Denny Crane. Funny, sad, a little of everything, legal issues, and issues that needed to be aired. Kelly is a genius.. Bring more of this great TV.....
Damn right
Best. Legal. Series. Ever.
I prefer boston legal
🎁
Let's just agree that The Practice is the best legal drama, Boston Legal is the best legal comedy.
@@BruderSeth They are both amazing
Boston legal is better
Excellent series. I may have to haul out my dvd's and watch them again. Thanks for the vid.
i watched this on a rerun one morning for the first time. This show is hilarious and touching. I'm so glad i can catch up
This and Boston Legal my favorite shows.
This is Boston Legal
No, this is the practice s8
Don't you just love the part where he says "Denny Crane"?
William Shatner finally managed to play a character with an even bigger ego than Kirk. The result is spectacular.
What was beautiful about the character was his vulnerability. The ego was a front for something much, much more human.
@@AussieSteveBoyle Of all the characters Shatner has played, Denny was the most....human?
Anything: *happens*
Denny Crane: *Denny Crane*
I’d love to see film clips of Denny Crane in court 15 years earlier becoming DENNY CRANE.
Alan is really so interesting in Bonton Legal.
frankly was NOT a Shatner fan...who knew the man was a comedy genius before I discovered it? Dude is sublime and deserved all his awards....love him as Danny Crane!! MEANWHILE JAMES SPADER AS ALAN SHORE WOW AND WHOA AND WHATEVER....THIS ACTOR HAS ABSOLUTE THE MOST BADASS, MAD AND INSANE ACTING SKILLS and deserved all his awards and more...INCLUDING NOW ON TO Blacklist and hope he gets more....overall I consider SPADER the best TV actor EVER....
We all know that Kirk was an epic and unforgettable role for the Shat but Denny Crane was tailor made for him. Best Performance of his career.
If I ever go to a live show, I WILL ask him to say those two reassuring little words.
I'm gonna try that, next time someone is late for a meeting. Gonna make them wait until I'm ready. Lol!
AMAZING where it came from this. To 5 years of amazing Shinanigans inspiring the OFFICE (Both versions)
Imagine him going around in his real life saying, 'William Shatner'.
Are we sure he doesn't? XD
Why would he say THAT? He says “Denny Crane”.
Rumor has it when he calls people they loudly proclaim "incoming message from the big giant head".
i have had the privilege of meeting/dining with him twice. He is a very humble man
Killer it Bill, killed it. You've never been better.
I'll bet he had so much fun in this scene lol
Lol! Man I miss this show. It was hilarious
i went into law school this year because of this man!!!! DENI KREJN!
This was long ago, but, did you finish?
@@larryhigginson3549 x2
Wow, you must have made a great lawyer.
"Some of the best "Denny Crane!" moments, in my opinion, were actually in the final season of The Practice, rather than Boston Legal."
100%
Denny Crane is like Groot but with good Vocabs😂
What would happen in the real work in such a case? If an Associate has no profit-sharing rights in his employment contract, he gets no share of the revenue he brought in. He can hope to get promoted, but that is it.
Alan only looks at the most powerful person in the room and he doesn't mitigate his gaze while addressing her underlings.
Denny stopped opposing counsel bullying his way into the room and put him in his place jajajajaj
Oh.. this first guy was in friends! "See ya pals!" The psychotic flatmate of Chandler when Joey had relocated to another apartment of his own!
I still can't figure out if Denny Crane is really a superlawyer or just the greatest 'fake it till you make it' success of all time.
Alan Shore clearly didn't want to settle the case, and didn't care about money. He just wanted to confront Eugene Young in court.
In real life, the opening numbers were not that far apart, and something in the middle ($1.3M, give or take) would be easy to settle on.
I hated those egotistical, self-important, whiny, proselytizing, preachy dips on The Practice, and I'm glad David E. Kelley started a new show focusing on James Spader's masterful Alan Shore and William Shatner's inspired Denny Crane. I loved Boston Legal. It was the antithesis of the Practice and couldn't get enough of it.
justwatching1980 1000% agreed!
One of the best parts of this scene is when Alan nods very slightly to Ellenor.
Ellenor is like "oh.. here comes the shit storm... ...and there goes our money".
Unless you were an indigent criminal.
I never watched the Practice can you explain?
@@jaxcaulfield7071 You aren't a successful criminal if you're both indigent and caught. It's like any career -- if you're a failure you should be fired and find a new career. The only difference is when you are a criminal, termination usually results in prison.
i actually liked the part with Alan Shore more but Denny Crane 's still the Boss hehe :) Thumbs up.
Where is the James T. Kirk meets Denny Crane mashup?
I truly hope in this day and age William Shatner somehow managed to copy write those now truly iconic two words...........
"Denny Crane".
Even MORE iconic than "Beam me up Scotty!"
Who knew 🤷🏼♀️
@mydog8u2 If I remember correctly Alan was awarded $2.3 million in damages.
Isn’t that Chandler’s creepy roommate?
How dare you
YESSSSSSSSSSS
I love Allen's "F*ck you" attitude
Great scene :)
And by that statement I am referring to Boston Legal.
Of course.
I love Denny Crane
@diveex actually this was one of the last episodes of the practice, done to introduce new players into boston legal.
Hah
hilarious
I love Boston Legal ♥
Nick Winchester this is The Practice...
After watching this video I am sure that Denny Crane was the inspiration for Groot
Consider those numbers when considering punitive damages as well as compensatory damages.
This scene was on which season and episode.. I would love to watch this show
@Hiromigo Oh awesome! Thanks Hiromigo! Now I REALLY wanna watch this season of Practice. Dammit where can I get the dvd?!?!? Lol Anyway, thanks again ;)
Jesus, Mary and Joseph!!!
ONLY James Spader can say sooo much without even saying a word!!!
David Kelly...doing a shared universe long before the MCU.
Love it. Saw William Shatner live in Melbourne tonight. He is a god amongst men.
I don't know this show. I do know one thing though. Denny Crane
Great acting
*Not-so-fun-fact : Vince Colosimo since this show has been arrested, chased by debt collectors and working construction but in the past 1-2years has got it back together and is acting full-time again. Nice guy who had a few speed bumps in his life*
Could anybody help me to to find out what is this episode ?
DENNY CRANE!!!!
Spader stole the show from Shatner. He was also very good as Ultron.
Don't forget Reddington!
That's the amazing part. I came for Shatner, but stayed for Spader.
I think this was more of Spader's show since he's the lead. Shatner was a supporting actor. So anything Shatner stood out was he stole the show from Spader.
I think there have only be a few duos in television history who managed to complement each other so perfectly.
The roles were written flawlessly and Spader and Shatner played them so well it didn't seem like they had to "act" at all, just be themselves and say the lines.
Boston Legal is the reason, why I started to work at a law firm.
@@BruderSeth No way did Spader steal the show, with Shatner he was content to be his straight man
Denny Crane. And Denny Crane again.
"I think we're going to trial"
So, you'd rather up the amount your Client would have to pay as opposed to the mediocre sum you could have originally agreed on? Alright..
@kazooga1234
No, he hired Denny Crane because he was legendary, Alan had shit loads of doubts about him, after he found out he'd hired a nut, who was going around saying his name in every other sentence :p
He even asken Mathew why he didn't stop him in hiring Denny Crane, but Mathew assured alan that ones in the courtroom .. he was Denny Crane the legend. Instead of the nut job ..
Gimme a pop Jerry... two if you love me....
*Pop*
*Pop*
After tht last line argument.. 8,9million ,I waited for the "Danny Crane" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
: Eugene. Poor, insecure, highly-strung Eugene. Ellenor knew what was up and how things were going to go all along, but she was in no position to run any kind of an assist to anyone. She knew Eugene was going to go over like a lead balloon and that Alan was going to win. She was the friend caught between two of her friends who were going for each other's jugulars. Great scene. Also, "Denny Crane!"
Danny Crane.
Why is it I only hear Ultron. Not James Spaders normal voice. Just Ultron
High School Never Ends
Have to say Denny Crane was William Shatners best role. Even with being a huge Star Trek fan.
I'm sorry, what's the name of William Shatner? I didn't catch it.
D E N N Y C R A N E
I sure miss Boston legal.
Was Avon Barksdale the lawyer they were negotiating with?
Denny Crane!!!!
i want a Star Trek episode or movie where Shatner plays Denny Crane as the captain of the Enterprise :D
Denny Crane!
I haven't watched this series yet but I sure am planning to. Can I ask why Alan was staring at that lady?
We could tell you, but that would take away from the enjoyment you'll get from watching the series.
Denny Crane
"The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." Denny Crane!
Denny Crane....nothing more needs to be said
@kazooga1234
eh, Denny guestioned Eugene (spelled) and helped in the last part of 8X17 :)
Denny Crane.

What episode is this from?
What episode is this?
@Hiromigo
Alan got 2.3 million
Once both demands were placed at 2:41, they could have split the difference at $1.325M and ended it. But then we don't have a TV show.
@mydog8u2 actually, he didn't get any money, he only wanted to be part of their team he was so hurt that they fire him, he respected them so much because they were so moral and the practice ruled by integrity, so he did the lawsuit only for pride and to proved them he was a better lawyer with his inmoral methods. In the end he refuse to take it, saying he was just angry at them because they didn't accepted the fact that he was a better laywer and more successful than they could dream on.
which episode is that ? please
Season Finale of The Practice, Last few important episodes that set the stage for Boston Legal.
How can The Practice and Boston Legal be in the same universe? The latter was clearly an outrageous comedy, while the former (pre Dylan McDermot departure) seemed like a serious drama.
So does Boston legal take after this?
Denny Crane
Was Fun ....
Can't a Denny Crane
Movie 🎥 Get Made
As an aspiring law student I will publically state denny crane makes me hot...this is coming from a straight man.
*DENNY CRANE*
Captain Kirk was Great but DENNY CRANE WAS THE FUCKING BEST EVER
