agree with loving it, agree on the influence, agree on it sounding somewhat like Thrice... disagree on direction for the album haha. I mean it's TWY and they can do no wrong but I much prefer the pop punk version of them.
Fr. I have part of the bridge from Came Out Swinging tattooed on my forearm. I’ve struggled with depression and suicidal ideation for most of my life (I’m 28 now) and when I heard that song and delved into the lyrics it kinda became my anthem for a couple years. The tattoo is the lines “I spent the winter writing songs about getting better and if I’m honest, I’m getting there.” It’s a consistent reminder of not only that progress is progress, and even the best progress has its setbacks, but that I have to keep reminding myself of how much progress I’ve made.
I love how TWY pays tribute to pro-wrestling. Awesome footage in this video, and we saw it in "I Don't Like Who I Was Then: "And I'm working baby face Out of Mid-South in the '80s I kept a blade hidden in my wrist tape" IYKYK ❤ good ol fashioned rasslin'
I dont know if you guys will see this, but back when I was younger and it was dark, waiting for the next album was one of my reasons not to end my life. So now every time singles come out for a new album, I feel both excitement and relief I’m still around to hear the new stuff.
I'll never get over how creative TWY's lyrics are, same with Aaron West. "IF this is when the reign falls" with both versions of rain/reign fitting in the context of the sentence is clever and just one of the many reasons TWY will always be my favorite band.
@@Sam-jy5tf He really is, no doubt about it. I loved how AW20 (thanks for the acronym btw, head cold currently, hard to think 😅) is just amazing storytelling with the lyrical genius of Soupy. I was driving home from work when I heard “Routine Maintenance” for the first time and I almost burst into tears. I pulled into my driveway and just sat there. I played it like a dozen more times before going inside. I’m really looking forward to seeing more of Aaron’s story.
I love how throughout their career, The Wonder Years have pulled from different influences but always made it their own. When they started pulling from post-rock more than pop punk, I still liked the albums, but Sister Cities didn't hit like the rest for me. When they came back 2 years ago with The Hum Goes On Forever it was my favorite since The Greatest Generation. We were all the way back. Late-career Hardcore influence TWY is entirely new, but they're at the top of their game right now They're the best, TWY forever.
Never heard a song these dudes have done that I didn’t like, every track on every album is truly amazing. Fan since day 1, and truly loved watching them become bigger and bigger as time goes by.
I just went to there concert at the Mann center in Philadelphia. My wife’s favorite band. My first time. Fell in love with these guys! They put on the best show!
This is my first listen, and anyone who knows anything about good music knows that the first listen should NEVER determine if you like something or not, cause great music takes time to get into your head and make you love it. You might even hate it at first, but after some time, you find yourself going back to the song or album and listening to it more and more....that is how I've found some of the best bands and music of my life! So again, this was my first listen of this, I'm already a big fan of The Wonder Years, but this track did blow me away cause I'm used to their previous albums and love those songs, but I can guarantee I'll be back for not one, or two, or even three more listens to this song, but I'll end up playing it to death in the near future cause I already know how this goes for me lol. I liked this song but it didn't really grab me, but I know it will after a few more listens and I'm excited as hell for a new album from them!!!! I can't wait!
My God I'm so blessed to be able to see yall in July in Florida. I thought you only had the NJ show and got super depressed. Yall are a life saver. Love you till death . Thank you for everything ❤
Ladies and gentlemen, meet the theme song for NXT Stand and Deliver. This song right here. Why does NXT use rock music still but the MR won't even for WM anymore?
They found the warehouse that all those metalcore bands filmed their music videos. I love it.
Asking Alexandria likes this comment
they had to start over and gain fans again
mom said it's their turn to use the decrepit warehouse
I'm LOVING the blatant hardcore influence on this song. It almost sounds like a Thrice song. I hope this is the direction for the next album.
agree with loving it, agree on the influence, agree on it sounding somewhat like Thrice... disagree on direction for the album haha. I mean it's TWY and they can do no wrong but I much prefer the pop punk version of them.
I love pop punk, but this just feels a lot more raw and emotional. @@phildimopoulos6010
Just read an interview that Dan found the screaming voice for this song while covering a Thrice song.
Early Thrice with a sprinkling of Brand New
yes please
Sad soupy is phenomenal, but ANGRY soupy is just next fuckin level.
Im scared and im happy
if NXT got you into this song look up "I don't like who I was then" by the band. pretty much references a wrestler in the territories!
A Wonder Years to Remember
Came out swinging 2nd sucks
I've known Kennedy since I was 17, this is the most amount clothes I've ever seen him wear.
So much grammatically wrong with your comment.
Is it true he's a bad friend?
@@anonuser600 It's literally one word.
oh no, I disappointed a nobody.@@anonuser600
So much wong in your head to get that pressed about one word. Work on yourself and come back to us.
If you become a fan of this band because of NXT, just know that you're welcome with open arms!
NXT !! NXT !! NXT !! NXT !! NXT !!
I absolutely love how much heavier this song is. a whole album in this more hardcore sound would be incredible.
Thank you to WWE/NXT for inspiring them to make something like this. They knocked it out of the park. So good
hi
I know now because of Sami Zayn the lead vocalist of TWY 😂😂😂
NXT Stand & Deliver Official Theme ❤️
TWY gives me a reason to be alive...music... man. Powerful.

Same here...Absolutely! You matter, and you're loved!
@@GideonGrimmGamingstay well bud. My reason is 9 years old. I know it seems cliché but Life is happening FOR you, not TO you... so live.
This has a harder edge than a lot of recent TWY stuff. Cool to see them exploring new stuff.

The first Wonder Years breakdown since Get Stoked On It
I’ve never heard a new wonder years song that wasn’t an instant classic.
Ooh you growly man, love the hardcore influence in this song, the drums are hard as well

I'm not getting over the fact we're getting a new AW20 and also a surprise new TWY the same month. Soupy is Just a lyrical god.

over 15 years of TWY and they never ever disappoint. hard to beat these guys 🖤
When pop punk hasn't slept in days and is woken up, this is what it will sound like. Loving the harshness!
Let's go stand and deliverrrrrrr let's faking goooooo
I love this new post-hardcore emotional sound. I’m here, I’m for it.
You know it's gonna be good when it starts with "I ram my head into a brick wall."
lmfaoo tru
absolutely love the hard side of twy. can we have Hank hardcore ninja dance?
Hearing Soupy scream on record for the first time felt like every nerve in my body started on fire, absolutely phenomenal
So love the Guitar Feedback at the end , This Song Frigging Slaps, and I did not expect Dan Screaming On my Music Bingo card for 2024

Stand and Deliver 2024 Baby!
The contrast between this song and the new aaron west songs are amazing and they both work so good, this man doesn't know how to write bad music!
Still have 'I refuse to sink' tattooed on my arm. This band will forever hold a place in my soul.
the last two songs and last album are phenomenal
I just went to there concert at the Mann center in Philadelphia. My wife’s favorite band. My first time. Fell in love with these guys! They put on the best show!

Just started a one man circle pit in my room. This is gonna kill live.
