Josh looks so fucking cool. The hair, beard, earring and the new jacket just fits him so goddamn well. What a legend.
We'll always miss Mark Lanegan at SFTD, but Josh delivers an unique performance.
R.I.P. Mark.
yeah ol' scratch was great.
I have an autographed copy of Blues Funeral which is super precious to me. It's a sadder world without Mark Lanegan😥 💚💚
Didn't knew he died, so sad, RIP.
Mark helped lift a fallen mixing desk of my leg back stage at Glasgow Garage many years ago, seemed a nice chap.Boring but true.
Josh is awesome but this needs Mark’s vocals,it’s his song
Carnavoyer is an instant classic. Actually, the whole album is fantastic.
That's so true!!!
WORD!
The more u listen...the better it gets!
Made to Parade is the only thing that isn't infinitely listenable, and its still amazing.
love the made to parade outro@@seraph82
I don’t know how it’s possible that they’ve improved their live show, since they were already legend status, but it’s true. God tier✨
I am SOOOOO excited to see them in October (in SF, CA, USA)!!
This lineup is legit as good as it gets live, they’ve been playing a long time together now, Mikey/dean in band 16yrs now, Troy 20yrs and Jon a decade, their chemistry is just incredible. One of if not the best live bands out there, their festival shows are unmatched sound wise too.
With all respect to Grohl. John Theodore is a beast!!
@@thetylerfish9089both are great ;)
Exactly! Do you know how good you have to be to be that good! 🤘
Holy mother of god the moment when Songs for the Dead kicks in is almost heavy enough to generate a black hole
Gotta love that crowd. Mosh looks like the black hole sucking in the zombie horde
A song for the dead is still one of the greatest rock songs written in the last 25 years
Don't forget about God is in the radio 😉
😊
These gents deserve to headline every festival that they bless us with. The best live band since '98. It doesn't matter who is in the lineup.
Nothing like the moment the sun sets at a festival, especially when Song for the Dead is playing. What a vibe
Carnavoyeur gives me chills
Fantastic song
Gorgeous song.
This band, Josh especially, ages like fine wine. Always putting out great music and still performing at a high level
I honestly cant believe that his new album of theirs is so good. I have listened to it like 20 times and it just feels like so good
I totally agree!!!
The one thing I take from seeing this, is after the interviews I've watched of Josh lately, especially the neil brennan one. hes really healing after the last 5 years and is so happy to be playing live again. look at the gratitude at the end of the set. fucking hell that was a hell of a performance of SFTD. Saw them at Margate a couple of weeks back and was just as epic.
Whoever edit the cameras is a genius.
Thanks!
The level of talent on that stage is just astounding.
Nothing, nothing
Nothing inside
There's no reason to cry
Just fade away, like love
Clutching, hanging by a nail in this life
Desperate always, always looks that way
Free fall from the nest, then glide to the left
A shine catch the eye, so flow to the right
Flying high, realize, there are no more mountains to climb
And there's nothing l can do
Accept enjoy the view
When there's nothing l can do, I smile
Minutes, seconds, so little time
Give your secrets away
Well, whisper in my ear
Every living thing will die
From the king of the jungle to butterfly
Only sin is waiting too long
When there's nothing I can do, I smile
I smile, I
Free fall from the nest, then glide to the left
A shine catch the eye, so float to the right
Flying high, realize, there are no more mountains to climb
We live, we die
We fail, we rise
I'm a vulture so I hear goodbyes
There's no end to life
On and on, always life
Life, always life
TY
this bass!!! this album is a high point for the guys! so happy! I want to see them live ASAp!
They sound amazing live always 💯 respect for QOTSA, R&R HALL OF FAME.....
That bass ❤
Best live show I ever saw. Sound was amazing. You could hear every note from every instrument including voice. Top notch.
Jon Theodore, the best QOTSA drummer.. And the best Mars Volta drummer.. And the best One Day As A Lion drummer.
Dave Grohl disagrees. 😂
@@TerrorTeddso do I
Joey Castillo wants a word with you..... That was the animal amongst Animals
each drummer was perfect for each period. Joey was a total badass imo and Dave is Dave.
@@charbelmoussawer2107 I agree. Every album has it's own fell and groove. The first two albums remind me of early Nirvana with the drumming that's not great, but VERY unique. Some of my favorite songs are pre-Dave, like Auto Pilot, In The Fade, If Only. All songs with very understated unique drumming. Dave introduced the power drummer to their sound and Joey continued that. But Jon Theodore just has a special place in my heart because of De-Loused in the Comatorium and One Day As A Loin. He's just a master of being in the pocket and the groove, AND power. Total package.
They take pride in every note and it shows.
Ohhhhhh that guitar harmony at 8:08 😍
I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS LIVE
August 4th is my turn
3th of july for me 🙂
didn't think they could even get better over the years. Absolutely love them.
They don’t fuckin miss, the chemistry of this lineup is fuckin godly too, Jon is the most recent member and he’s already been in the band a decade, Mikey and dean 16 yrs and Troy 21. These guys playing together is just magical and a true beauty to watch. Long live QOTSA, doesn’t get better than them live.
@@puppetmaster8551 i had no idea they had a stable lineup this long. amazing!
@@alltheserobotsshallfall yup, in the earlier years there was a lot of coming and going around Josh but they really found their stable lineup when they hired Mikey and dean in 2007, those 2 along with Troy and Josh obviously are a great unit together and then adding a stellar drummer like Jon a decade ago and Josh finally found that stable lineup that would be together man years. It shows in their live playing too they’ve been absolutely incredible lately
Best Queens song, hands down
No one can sing it like Mark. Josh does a different job entirely of it, sounds great.
My god is in the stereo!!! And the stereo is playing QUEENS!!!! ❤❤❤
Best song of the album 🤘
Application to be a member in QOTSA:
1) Do you have an amazing head of hair?
Watched them (on tv) at glastonbury a few weeks ago, absolute masterclass of a live rock performance. They are all at the peak of their powers as musicians, the best live band there is for me right now. Cant wait to see them in person again at Manchester this November for the end is nero ☺
Alsjeblieft 3voor12, we need the full show 🤘🏻
One of the last true Rock 'n' Roll bands going - TOTAL 🔥
The best rock band in the last 25 years and beyond!
Together with Muse;)
Saw them at the Piece Hall in Halifax and the hype was real
Beste live performance van het weekend, punt.
So sad to see Jon Theodore wasting his talent in this group, playing cheap 4/4 beats… :(
But glad that he’s at least making a lot of money with it
@@gtube1477 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@gtube1477Hes is 4 different bands dude.
@@gtube1477wasting his talent?!? queens is the best live band on the planet your tripping man
@@Mikeys_Shows check out some of his live and studio performances with the Mars Volta between 2003 and 2005. You’ll know what I mean.
Damn, they are solid…This is the best rock band right now…I cannot wait to see them in KC on 9/20.
I'll be there too
What an absolutely brilliant band...
Them shoots are amazing!
That bass tone is pure filth, i love it
Incredible performance, best band ever ! LOVE IT !
that bass make the whole song stand out , damnnn
07:04 that's the most important part of the show. The new blood. They will carry the torch. There's still hope for rock and roll.
And: we'll never forget you, Mark Lanegan.
Great to see it🤘
Garcia should sing Song for the Dead sometime
They make me want to be in a band again. I miss it sooo much.
Favorite band
Good to see some youngins in the crowd. Getting them straight into the good stuff. W parents
Somehow, they've gotten... better live! Genuinely didn't think that was possible, but what an inspiration to see how far fine tuning, hard work and creativity can take something. True greatness.
no one else this late in their career releases such magic
Tons of bands have
Well? Errrrrr?? Only a few dozen 😂
@@homewithemma42 😆
TOOL
@@homewithemma42 nope. and the kitchen is there yonder....men are talking.
Saw them in Toronto back in 2018 with Royal Blood as the opening act. I've been to a million shows and this was maybe the best one. Amazing band to see live (royal blood too).
This band has aged like a fine wine! Just when you think it was already really good, the years seasoned them and it got even better! This lineup with Jon is the best since Dave and Nick were in the band. And of course, R.I.P Mark
I dont know what makes more happy...that crowd of folks having fun or this new material omg. 😘
There are fantastic! See them as often as you can
The best!
Fantastic musicians..very tight. Shows they take their talent seriously.
Right! I was fucking blown away when I saw them live for the first time
Goed is nog understatement , een van de beste live bands ❤
QOTSA has aged like fine wine, excellent live sound
what a day and performance it was....thank you!
Great, great performance ! Great audience too :)
Best rock band alive! 🥃🍷❤️
I'm seeing them live Friday Sept. 22nd in Indy, awesome outdoor venue, can't wait.
This is the song that got me into heavier songs. Still one of if not my favorite of all time
F me mate. Saw them at this gig live that day, now rewatching it feels like it was yesterday they rocked the absolute shit out of Pinkpop. Instant goosebumps. It was my first time seeing them live as well, safe to say: money well spent...
Thank you, so good!
So mesmerizing.... What a band, what a night!
Without doubt best band off last 25 years and their live performance is simply unlike any other your see simply phenomenonal
I have seen them twice one in 2003 and then again later with NIN tour. I didn't actually want to see them the second time. I was there purely for NIN and they were supporting act or vice versa. I can say I'm happy I stayed to see them play a second time. Homme knows his stuff and how to put on a show as with his band members.
Josh spreekt dankjewel werkelijk perfect uit
Vla Pudding!
ze leefden praktisch in kraakpand de slang in de spuistraat in amsterdam voor een tijd in de jaren 90, qotsa is daar min of meer geboren
Did anyone notice this sweet transition at 1:06? Damn, the director and the camera crew had an excellent eye!
Totally blew my mind off the map at Stage AE in Pittsburgh. I had to see them last minute at Anthum Theatre in Washington DC by myself. They are great live. New album is a major classic.
You've fxxxxing absolutely kicked oooffff!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Can't wait to see you in Italy❤️🔥
men they sound so so well
I can not properly describe just how much I love this song. Carnavoyeur has become one of my favorite songs of all time. I only wish Bowie could've heard it.
I wish i could thumbs-up every time i watch 👍
I love them so much ❤
Sounding awesome. Aug 4, Toronto. Can't wait.
Gives chills ❤️🔥
I love how dean's double keyboard just play its own tune throughout carnavoyeur (esp from 3:00 onwards) but blend soo damn well with the song
How much I'd love to see them live one day ... Unfortunately they won't visit my country this year.
finally getting over hearing carnavoyeur all day everyday at download and realising its a great song
Thank you, from a dude in New Zealand, for uploading this.
That bass is thumpin
The Sun also Rises. Josh & QOTSA with a kick ass and refreshing new album, "In Times New Roman." .Bringing the ☀Can't wait for QOTA to fiddle me timbers in the pit in Denver. Hit it, boys 🎸-Gary
I just really can’t believe these mf’ers have gotten THIS MUCH BETTER
And Jon Thedore is an absolute BEAST!!!!!
Was there, it was awesome.
Snap!
Not often a live version is better than album version but holy shit Song for the Dead
That bass tone
They are so good!
These boys got my heart forever
The sound of that bass guitar is amazing
So f'n hot! The most perfect blend of prog+rock+harmonies+soul crushing lyrics+drums to ensure you stay buried.
Awesome!
Awesome!!
R.IP. Mark. He would approve this performance. Sounding great!
Mind blowing; Blown minds !
They've been at their peak form since 1998
Dit was genieten
They were;On the level that day!
Mikey Shoes' bass tone is insane
❤
wat a fantastic drummer!!
About to go see this live. So fucking stoked.
Holy shit, that's the best version of song for the dead I've heard so far
The drop here 5:00 is insane
I used to only love when Dave was on stage for this song but Jon plays it even better.
