Regarding the noise reduction and sharpening, I would suggest setting it to -1 or even -2 for a better non-digital look. You can always remove noise or add sharpening in post, but you can't undo what's already baked into the video.
Excellent video, clear information. I've seen a few of OP3 tutorials, and this is hands down the best. I've been looking for a clear explanation of the shutter speed settings and how to manage EV, as it can not be locked if you set a shutter speed.
Thanks. Why 30 instead of 24 fps? Doesn't 24 give you the cinematic look? For UA-cam videos, what do you suggest? And do you use your phone with the apps much and if so, what for? Thanks again!!
The magnetic flters are not in stock yet, most are on back order, so the 180 rules in shooting in daylight is not realistic for me yet. but as soon as those filters become in stock, i'll have to shoot in suto shutter speed but everything else is manual.
Are the magnets any stronger on the Pocket 3 as opposed to the Pocket 1/2? Every time I put the Pocket 2 in my pocket with a filter on it, it pops off because the magnets were so weak.
There is more surface area of magnets on this one so it should be better. Also when the camera is off the camera lens faces inwards so it wouldn't be able to catch anything in your pocket as you are pulling it out
Great video. Question - when doing cimematic video on pocket3, any suggestion on how to get the big bokeh effect for max "shallow depth of field" effect achieved on those pro camera? Or that's just not possible with the fixed f-stop on pocket3?
Top video, thank you ! I only use my Osmo Pocket 3 with wild angle on, as I find the regular too narrow while vlogging/« portraiting ». Problem, I did not see any wild angle filters available or even in project … opinion about it ? (Filming only with wild angle)
Stupid question but what ND filter do you tend to use the most for a normal sunny day then for say like overcast. Or should I just run no ND in overcast
Great to see these are coming out - fills most of the gaps in the set offered by DJI, apart from ND4. What actually is the native ISO of the camera? Haven't been able to find this information anywhere. The previous versions of the pocket were ISO100.
I have not seen any data on the native ISO, I would guess 100 but ISO100-400 is super clean. To get and ND4 Filter effect, put the ND8 on and push ISO to 200.
How do you feel about useing the range iso of 50-1600? If I use the settings you suggest, my image is very dark. But if I use 800 or the range, the light ev is exactly where you suggested.
If your shutter speed is double frame rate and your image is too dark you have to shoot at higher ISOs (some scenes will be too dark to keep ISO at 400).
So when you say if you're not going to color grade your video then don't do it.. Do you have a video explaining how to color grade I would like to get the best out of the camera but totally new to that.
A user discovered a very interesting fact. DJI confirmed the finding. Normal color profile is indeed also 10 bit. Of couse the workflow would be different if you reky on LUTs - grading the normal profile will be a manual grading affair only. I appreciate the concept of using ISO to halve an ND filter # of stops!
Thank you, Jeff, for the clear and concise video! Do you still recommend the same EV and Sharpness settings when you're trying to match footage with other mirrorless cameras?
Hi, PolarPro I have a problem with connectivity... so when pocket 3 connects with my cell by Mimo no problem, but my cell loses wifi (internet)... I do everything (reaset my router...call DJI =ZERO help I spent $40 for nothing...). My cell Samsung 23FE , router Tplink Please help me. Thanks.
@@PolarProFilters i read that, i hope you guys dont have delay, i will be on tour for over a month from mid december and hope i get them before i leave.
I love your ND filters but as of late it seems you choose intentionally to make them in strengths that don't match those filters sold directly by the camera manufacturer, in this case you avoid ND 16, 64, and 256 which are available from DJI. I assume this is so you avoid overlap? I want to get a FULL set from Polar Pro, all one company, all one case and its hard to do that now unless I go to your competitors. Please consider making comprehensive sets again, thanks.
We did the ND8/32/128 because we did not see any need for the 8 stop ND256. This allows us to include the ND8 instead of the ND16 which is better for golden hour. You dont need ND16/ND64/ND256 if you buy our set. You use ISO to accommodate the stop differences. Ex. If you need an ND64, install our ND128 and push ISO from 100 to 200. If you need n ND16, install our ND32 and push ISO from 100 to 200. Using ISO under 400 is way better than constantly switching filters when you need to change exposure by 1 stop
Thank you so much 🥰 I just bought this and this was helpful! now I have to get a ND FILTER.

Thanks for this tutorial! Is there a good setting to blur the background for a talking head video?

Does this have an option for blurry backround when shooting cars?
Are you able to leave one of these filters on the lens when powering off the pocket 3 for storing away in the plastic case? Thanks in advance!
Yes you can
Do you guys have a wide angle lens that will stack with the ND filter pack?
The Wide angle lens actually magnetizes to our filters but it creates a gimbal overload. So I don't think you can stack filters on the Pocket 3

Many thanks for sharing. With ND filter, what is the video setting for shutter speed? Without ND, it is 2x fps.
The concept is to have your shutter speed at double frame rate, always. Usually when shooting outdoors you need a filter to help achieve this.
@@PolarProFilters thanks so much
Can you stack the cpl on the nd filter as an option instead of getting the nd/cpl filters?
No that would be to heavy for the gimbal

The closer the subject you are focusing on is to the camera, the more bokeh you will see in the background
thanks for the quick but very helpful tutorial.

No wide angle filters from us, they would be a bit too
heavy for the gimbal
@@PolarProFilters thank you for your reply 🙏🏻

Nd128 when sunny and ND32 when cloudy

what best white balance when night ?

We have resellers in EU, but they do not have stock yet

There are excellent videos already on UA-cam about it
Do the original pocket 1 filters work on this new pocket 3?
They do not, the Pocket 1 filters are a little smaller
How long until I can order a SilverMorphic or BlueMorphic, or GoldMorphic FX pack for the OsmoPocket3? Cheers.
If we see good sales volume we will start rolling out our other filters
I am leaning towards buying the ND/PL filters. Will you be making a mist filter as well?
As of right now we dont have one in the pipeline, but the ND/PL filters are my go-to for sure
Does the D-Log M typically need sharpened in post?
Yes you will need to fully grade that footage
hi there, can you please make a video using the ND and PL filters on the pocket 3 ?? Very tempting to order them 😊
great stuff,
are there any low light settings you would recommend?
Probably best to find a specific video on that. Would be tough to type it out
When will the filters be available for purchase?
They are available for purchase now: www.polarpro.com/collections/osmo-pocket-3/
Hi. Dji pocket3 mimo app for android...I could not find it in samsung andriod play store? Why am I not seeing Dji Mimo App in Samsung phone? Thanks
Not sure, I would try to reach out to DJI

Let's see some footage!
We make the filters, you get the footage!
Very nice, but where can I buy filters??? All on Pre-Order.... Need them now!!
The Pocket 3 filters will be shipping November 30th

haha
Great video Jeff
Thanks 👍
I bought the nd filter right away. I'll be waiting for the delivery to Korea 🤩
Yooo! I see a T7 sneaking into the shot there! I didn't know you were into ADV/Dual sports. We should make a film together at some point!
