These are fantastic tips! I received mine last week, and you've saved me a lot of time by highlighting all those excellent settings and functions. Thank you so much!
Wonderfully useful info, Jason, especially for someone new to the OP3. Thank you! BTW, has anyone ever told you that Kenneth Branaugh looks a bit like you?
Good tutorial friend, what techniques can we use when we walk with the camera to hide the steps we take, give us a tutorial on this topic friend. 13:28.
The gimbal does not stabilize up/down walking movement - for that you need to use a gimbal walking technique (AKA "ninja walk") or attach another stabilizer to the P3
If you mean the one I used to record the pocket 3 screen with my phone it was made with a little magic arm ant the phone mounts I talk about in this vid: ua-cam.com/video/EbK7BgsX5fE/v-deo.html
Great tips. But I would like to expand on your examples for use of the full lock feature which is turned on by holding down the joystick. (No.1 missing feature of the P3 is the ability to get full lock without having to hold down the joystick continuously). Here are two examples. One, try pointing the camera at the scene of interest. Then hold down the joystick and walk round the camera anti clockwise. The gimbal head will stay pointing at the scene, and you will appear to walk into the picture as you begin talking about the scene. It is like having the camera on a tripod, but you don't have to carry one. Two, you can point the camera at the starting point of the shot, then turn a bit while holding down the joystick, then pan in the direction you are now facing in, potentially allowing you to pan the gimbal further round than would have been possible from the original position. Cheers!
Thanks for the video. Great tips! One thing I have figured out, that no one else seems to have discovered, is that the camera actually has 4 mics onboard. The settings are Front, Front and Back, and All. Meaning there are mics on the front and back and the sides. 4 mics. Am I wrong? Thanks again. Blessings.
There's 3 mics DJi say "Pocket 3 adopts a built-in three-mic array, which can effectively reduce wind noise and record omnidirectional stereo sound. Even in noisy environments like concerts, it can precisely identify sound sources to give you more immersive audio"
@@JasonRobertsVideo If you and DJI say so. I just think it's a bit confusing when the settings are FRONT, FRONT AND BACK, AND ALL. I will say that I have gotten great results with the onboard mics in a concert I recorded in a bar situation. The immersive sound seemed perfectly mixed, and all I had to do is turn it on as start recording. Thanks again for your videos.
Depends on the effects that you want to get - for high energy dance where you want a more stylized video then you could go full FPV mode, for ballroom you might want more slow smooth tilt locked style.
Are you able to suggest a solution to a problem please? We purchased the Osmo Creator Combo package. As you know that comes with 1 microphone. However, we are often "chatting" on our vlogs and probably each have our own pin on microphone. Can we buy a Bluetooth microphone and just add it on to the second microphone setup? Not sure if we need receivers, etc. That would make the Osmo quite annoying to carry around. Any suggestions would be appreciated 👍
We just need the bracket you're using to hold your phone with the pocket 3. I want my phone out in front of me while I'm connected to the mimo app so I dont have to use the screen on the pocket 3
im trying to turn on the grid lines for my pocket 3 but i dont seem to have the reference line option in settings even when im in pro mode. anyone know how i can turn on the grid lines?
I’ve been struggling to save focus mode in custom settings. Something I consider important. Unfortunately I find saving your own custom settings doesn’t include the focus mode ! WTF !
Hi, I have one question, would you mind helping me? I just bought this new Osmo Pocket 3 from B&H. I have tested with two resolution 4K60 and 2.7K60 results are very disappointed. The video does not run smooth. It runs for about 2, 3 seconds then suddenly it speeds up for 1 second, then it runs normal again, then few seconds after it speeds up again. It is something like you are walking normal for few seconds then you run for few seconds, then you walk normal again, it repeats again and again. How can I fix it? What did I miss? Thanks a lot for your help.
Depends on the definition of "pro" I think, for example pro landscape photographer and UA-camr Thomas Heaton uses a Pocket 3 to film with (alongside other cameras).
You gave way better tips than the other videos I followed, thank you
Wow - thanks so much - glad they were useful :) :)

You're welcome! Glad you found it useful :) :)
What's that "bracket" for lack of a better word that holds the phone and camera together? I want one. waiting for your reply thanks for the video.
I just googled ‘1/4 mount clamp’ and loads come up. Looks like smallrig
No lo dice y son varios quienes le han preguntado. Con eso me doy cuenta que es una persona envidiosa.

Thanks so much - no they haven't but I wish I had his voice haha!! :) :)
Great work great channel as always informative, intuitive and not overly technical. I love it. Keep up the great work.10/10
Wow! thanks heaps for saying that!! :) :)

New to pocket 3….recommendations for settings for windshield video through Yellowstone Park?
Great video, especially liked the DJI Mic 2 audio tips and back up. thanks
Thanks Steve! Glad it helped :) :)
This is sort of repeating the last question posted, what (grip) are you holding your phone and camera (simultaneously) with? Thanks
Could you recommend a windscreen mount for the Pocket 3, to film vlogs inside a vehicle please?
Where did you get that handheld pocket3/phone mount at? I’ve been looking for something like that
If you mean the one I used to record the pocket 3 screen with my phone it was made with a little magic arm ant the phone mounts I talk about in this vid: ua-cam.com/video/EbK7BgsX5fE/v-deo.html
Very helpful tips. Especially single focus mode.
Thanks - glad you liked them :) :)
Could you give us details of the stabilizer with phone holder?

Great tips, will apply those tomorrow 👍🏼
Great to hear - thanks! - hope they help :) :)
Very helpful, thanks from Greece.
Thanks and hi to Greece! :) :)
Good Info, Thanks Jason
Thanks Ron! :) :)
Don’t forget that in Tilt lock mode, you can get a very useful jib effect by moving the camera vertically…
Thanks :) :)

Yes it is confusing! I'm guessing there's some audio processing going on to get the front/front and back :) :)
Nice tips and very useful
Thanks a lot Barry :) :)
Jason wich mode is good for dancing?
Depends on the effects that you want to get - for high energy dance where you want a more stylized video then you could go full FPV mode, for ballroom you might want more slow smooth tilt locked style.
Thank you Jason. Much appreciated.
You're welcome Johnny :) :)

I saw people connecting Rx from other brands using the usbc or even VideoMics from rode, and working perfectly.
Very helpful thx
You're welcome! Glad it was helpful :) :)
Very good video 👍
Thanks so much :) :)

Does anyone know how to make the background blur out like the iPhone15 pro max does on cinematic mode?
im trying to turn on the grid lines for my pocket 3 but i dont seem to have the reference line option in settings even when im in pro mode. anyone know how i can turn on the grid lines?
Great Tips Jason, Thank you as always! Pocket 3 Rocks.
No worries - glad you liked them :) :)
perfect content 👍👍
Wow! Thanks so much! :) :)
amazing
Wow! Thank :) :)
I never see no one with there phone or a monitor hooked up to the 3 mr hason, I need that set up I can't see if it's a phone or monitor sir
It's a phone that records the P3 screen so I can show what I'm doing :) :)
I’ve been struggling to save focus mode in custom settings. Something I consider important. Unfortunately I find saving your own custom settings doesn’t include the focus mode ! WTF !
Yeah the custom modes don't save every setting unfortunately.
What are you using to have your DJI Osmo pocket 3 sticking to the window ?
It's just a cheap no-brand suction cup
😮😮
Its very annoying that you cannot get the color correction straight from the Pocket 3 screen
Yeah there are some things that hopefully will be added in future firmware :) :)

Don’t have a cool bracket and no info on how to get one
pros dont use osmo pocket 3.
its a dad cam
