i think they announced that they were doing a rx-78-2 one but didnt release any details excpet for a teaser photo of it of just a black outline of the gundam itself

You can put the normal Full Armor equipments onto this MGEX, more or less. No need for Premium Bandai unless you're a completionist/perfectionist.
The MGEX is already expensive even without the full armor

I had to make an unboxing because I wasted over a whole week because of one cursed gunpla..

The V Fin not being painted is unacceptable at this price point, this MGEX costs over $50 USD more than the PG and the PG had magnets and was painted.
Well if i would choose i go for PG instead.

The Pg v fins magnets is very weak and barely hold the v fins together.

I feel like Hajime Katoki gets a bit too much love from Bandai, I mean sure his designs are cool but I'd love to see model kits based on other artists MS designs
They should also let other artist give there ideas too.

i enjoy his stylaztions, but they are always SUPER close to the og.
i get the feeling that they like using him for his name power, but also cause he knows the limits. he doesnt make a full new custom vers. its just stylizations, or like an extra something

Mecha Gaikostu is awesome, he literally might own all of the model kits ever released by Bandai. You can always trust him when it comes to information for Gunpla, that is why I watch him so much.
Phenex is going to be $350 I'm guessing or more for normal

It looks like the frosted clear parts are clear parts that are on the surface while the normal ones are used with the frame so the light from the led unit can travel along the body
I was really hoping they would have allowed the LEDs to be powered my USB and not batteries... well here’s hoping we get a KO that dose it right!
Dammit i got fooled into thinking this was the actual review. Real talk though. Whether i get it or not depends on what Mecha says. I trust his judgement.
I have a feeling he's not gonna give it higher than a Gold Tier rating. From what I've seen, this does feel like they scaled down the PG to a 1/100 scale size and gave it the RG Unicorns proportions, but the LED gimmick also seems pretty restricting in some areas and I'm not sure this worth the $250 USD price tag. On the plus side though, its compatible with the MG Unicorns weapons so you can take the Full Armor weapons and attach it to this kit to make the Full Armor Unicorn.
@@elchito3 ill be real and i know im in a minority, im not actually a fan of FA Unicorn. I prefer it in its final for with the shields as funnels.

Looking at scizophonic 9s blog it seems like this kit is a BIG improvement over the regular, older, master grade in pretty much every way (unless you prefer the somewhat slimmer proportions of the old master grade.)
Not sure if mechas gonna rate this one at all yet though how can he compare if its up to standard eith other kits of the same grade? Its the only one :p
I really want to see an MGEX banshee gundam, with armed armors BS/VN, that would be so sick, I mean i guess it would be cool to have all the banshee's armed armors. But VN/BS are my personal favorites because claws are neat and one of my favorite gundam weapons
Yeah. If they make a MGEX Banshee that can do yellow and green LED's...I'm probably sold. It's the accessories that are the question mark. But if you've bought previous MG Banshees, those accessories may work with the MGEX...I heard a previous reviewer say he thinks the Full Armor may work on this Unicorn.
Best review of seen of this so far. So many guys are taking 30+ minutes without even putting in the LED it’s kinda ridiculous...

The unicorn’s vfin is impossible to be color separated since the gold part needs to be completely flat
Id love to see a true XTreem unicron with a backwards hat, a skateboard and turquoise and pink color scheme.

Don’t care how much it is, this is on the top of my list for my next Gunpla
I don't mind the v-fin not being colour accurate, because i have a very nice gold marker that i can use. I just have a pack of metallic sharpies, and the only one that doesn't really work is the bronze one. It's a good cheap alternative to paint markers. Plus, regular black sharpies with the super fine tip can work for panel lines (although not that well) and the coloured markers can work on white and clear plastic.
I wish so badly that they would make this kit without all the LEDs and extra junk, I really don’t care about any of that and I’m not willing to pay $270 for what would essentially be a regular MG to me
You should try a lot of the different Armed Armor and Full Armor parts with this, I do know the backpack works but no clue about the rest
this is so extreme and cost somuch that they decide to use sticker for the horn to counter the extreme price tag.

Saw in another video that the manual has you adding the foils stickers for the eyes and sensors as you build. Might want to hold off until it's together, see how you feel about the LEDs in the head
The clear parts are uv reactive to brigt more on leds
Will the full armor set armor fit onto this? I was feeling frisky and got it in clear on P-Bandai and now I want to fit it onto the light up MGEX with the massive boosters on its back to make a massive light up Clear Full Armor Unicorn Gundam. A friend of mine broke is Banshee and comined it with his Unicorn so I was hoping there is a lot of interchangeability involved here.

I think the opaque parts and the clear ones are interchangeable because in the package it's the clear ones with the shields but in the pic it's the opaque ones so I'm guessing that it is optional to whether the building wants the opaque ones or the clear ones to install

You haven't build EXTREME kits before you build the full set of 36 HGAC Maganacs + 4 Commander Units.
Hey Gaikotsu, when you review this kit could you spend some time looking at the backwards compatibility of the kit? I've heard that the Full Armor parts from FA Unicorn can attach to the MGEX kit and was wondering if the same can be said for the Perfectability parts as well.
