The red seersucker would be cute in a jumpsuit. ❤
I totally see a wide leg suit, pants and vest top with that plaid seersucker fabric, I think it would make your legs look so long and pretty and you have pretty shoulders so a vest shirt would be so pretty with that
You scored! 🦋🌷😊
What an amazing fabric haul, some lovely garments are in your future. The first thing we do when we visit a new place is check out all the charity shops for books and fabric. Initially it was for quilt covers to use as toiles but you can get some little gems sometimes if your lucky. I really appreciate the trouble the book owners go to when they leave personal things or quotes in a book. It makes you imagine their life. The stories those books could tell.... Thank you for a lovely vlog. I am binge watching your videos at the minute. Take care from the North of England x
What a wonderful haul of fabric treasures and no sheets... well maybe just one 😂. Those colours are stunning, all those pinks 💕. The books look fabulous but what makes it for me is the personal items in them from the person that had the book. Like you, I really appreciate the touch of history and adds to the wonder of who it was that had the book. Thanks for sharing your joy. ❤x❤
Thanks so much 😊 ❤️
I should consider myself lucky, I find great choices in fabric (some high end fabrics)in my area. Book treasures are lovely to find.
Wow! Free Spirit fabric in a beautiful tangerine color. Love that one in particular. What a great store. I seldom find yardage.
Lucky you! Congratulations 🎊
Lovely fabric haul, I am sure you will make something wonderful. I volunteer at a hospice thrift store. It is just amazing (and sad) to see what gets donated. Last week we had an entire quilter's collection donated. Dozens of books and patterns (never opened), kits (some never started) and fabric. Use your stash now 🥰
Somewhere In Time is one of my favorite movies!!! Would love to visit Mackinac Island.. Great fabric selections!!
My favorite movie of all time too, and I LOVE the music.
@@paulabradberry9943 Yes, the music! John Barry
@@moniquedawn5252 absolutely..........
Some of those log cabin designs would look so cute made with the selvedges that are on your fabrics that you showed….no waste when you sew with the selvedges and so unique
Great idea!!
We still have some of the computer paper with the feeds on the sides. I use it for scratch paper. Good job. I haven't seen fabric in a thrift store in a long time.
I live in Florida also, and wear dresses everyday. They are so much cooler than any other clothing to me.
Looks like you had fun😊😊
Pink…PINK…..you were so excited. 🥰 Do you know anybody who loves everything pink?
Wow! You found some great fabrics and books. What beautiful colors.
My girlfriend and I barely made it to the car before we burst out bawling after seeing Somewhere in Time. Mackinac Island was loved by my dad and I, but poor mom couldn’t handle the combination of fudge shops, horse manure, and diesel ferry smells. Good memories Jen!
LOL my husband would go for just the fudge shops alone -
Good fabric haul. . Robert Kauffman and Free Spirit are 2 of my favorite fabric designers for my quilting fabrics. I live the first 2 pieces ypu showed.
Wow great find of fabrics. Even though I'm trying not to buy more fabric if i see fabric in a thrift store that i love, I buy it. I know i will use it. Last year i found about 4 metres of pink plaid seersucker fabric. This year i made myself some pjs. I'm hoping they will be coolnto wear. This past week, with the humidex, it feels like 104 f. I live in Southern Ontario Canada and that is very hot for here, even though our summers can be hot and humid. Mackinac Island is one of my favourite places. Ive visited thr island 3 times, but only stayed on the island once at beautiful Victorian inn. I'd love to stay at the Grand Hotel sometime.
Awww I loved Somewhere in Time, the film and the music. Thank you for reminding me.
I keep neglecting to tell you how much I love your hair--beautiful!
You could make a quilted jacket with those quilting cottons. Using a sweatshirt rather than batting would not be as warm as batting.
You seem to wear and sew a lot of blue fabric and this red/pink stash might be fun to wear.
Love storm at sea. Look at it closely not a single curve in the quilt but so much movement.
I can see those Hawaiian Prints used as either a yoke or as sleeves and contrasting trim on a blouse. Just because it's small doesn't mean it needs to be the dominant print. I collect lots of 1 yards or less from thrift stores stores.
I just realized you live in Florida I'm in Central Florida in DeLand. Love when I find out I following someone local to me. 😊
You did very well! Getting closer to quilting...😄! The Dorothy Draper pink home dec fabric might make a nice duster, something with a little more weight than a thinner cotton or other fabric, to wear as an outer layer since you don't usually need heavy clothes in FL.
Maybe make yourself some cushions with the home Dec fabric and enjoy it.
Great finds!
My grandkids want me to come to South Carolina to see their new bedrooms. We ought to meet up. We are talking about Labor Day and the week prior
I am a sucker for seersucker! My husband and I stayed at the Grand Hotel a few years ago. I love “Somewhere in Time”, but the ending always makes me sad. Good haul! 🤗👍
Wow, you actually stayed there? I'd love to do that someday.
Hey Jen! Man, you really scored on that seersucker fabric!!!! I've been wracking my brain trying to come up with an outfit if I had found that fabric. Nothing comes to mind other than an A-line summer dress with some fun pockets, which would be cute paired with white sneakers or sandals. When I think of seersucker, I think of outdoor summer outfit. Some of those smaller pieces would make nice quilted zip cosmetic bags or quilted notebook covers. Have fun dreaming and designing!!! 🥰
I love the fabrics you thrifted . The décor fabric can be made into purses/ bags etc. Love the zippy cross body bags. Not sure if your daughter would like a pink nursery. My daughter just had her 4th girl and it was requested no pink. Pink shades are also different now. But maybe she likes retro. Time will tell.
Beautiful fabric!!! Love a score of fabric at 2nd hand shops. Got 3 different knits and made some Tshirts for one of my grand daughters 😍
Love your hair color btw ❤
That is awesome!
Jen I saw that movie and it is in my collection Love Love Love it!, what pretty fabric you found! Can’t wait to see what you make out of them! Happy Sewing 🧵 Virginia from Arkansas 😇
Hi Jen, I'm a quilter and a thrifter! You found some beautiful fabrics...rarely have I seen quilt quality fabrics at our local thrift stores. Storm at Sea is a favorite quilt design, although I have yet to sew one!
Beautiful fabrics! I read a wonderful book on Dorothy Draper, The Grand Design, by Joy Callaway.
Thanks! I should do the same.
NICE HAUL!! Its so rare to find actual fabric! Now I want to go thrifting!! Im still on a fabric freeze tho. Working VBS every night this week, so we will see if I get time to sew…. I placed our Temu order today. Hang in there with your snips till your new ones arrive!!! You look pretty!!! ❤❤love you!!
Try a Farm Rio style garment. A few years ago, from across the store, I saw a print I wanted for summer pants. I fell in love from across the store....it happens...then found out it was quilting cotton. Decided to make them anyway. Love them. After a few washes, they soften just the right amount. I have made those pants out of quilting cotton 9 times so far...another in progress. Those beautiful prints would be awesome as color blocked clothing
9 times? Those must be some nice pants!
@@TodayinJensSewingRoom I wouldn't call them nice. Comfy, easy to say, and already fitted to my body...and bonus: my kids hate the crazy patterns I sew them in
Just found you and you are delightful. I think I’m about the same age. I will follow!
Wonderful!
Love the seersucker plaid - so fun! I immediately thought of capris. 🌸🌸. AHH - Somewhere in Time is one of my all time favorite movies!! I've been to the island :). Great trip 🌸🌸
I need to watch it again!
