    I try to do a few minutes of LOS at the end of my sessions. It feels like throwing away all the skills I had built, and going back to zero.
    3-5 minutes of LOS at the end of my regular sessions has made a huge difference. Its so worth it!

    It's probably easier to fly LOS if you are using headless mode. I think quadmovr uses headless mode. That way you don't have to worry about what direction you are facing, you can move yaw any way you like and it stays consitent.

    if you want to start from you hand you need 2 stage arm first stage without gyro 2nd stage full arm
    than you grab it from the top stage 1 arm throw + stage 2 arm thats the safest way to do it if you can call that safe
    if you fully arm it while you hold it the drone can go crazy and chop your fingers of
    mrsteel did a video about that

    If you really get in to it you could build a dedicated 5" line of sight quadcopter that would have no camera or FPV gear to save weight and a symmetrical X frame layout to fly better. Then stick coloured LEDs on the front and back arms to help with orientation, it'll make it easier to fly. You won't need as powerful motors for your line of sight quadcopter so you could easily build it out of old spare parts and maybe go 4 cell to keep it cheap if you liked.

    different color props help with orientation too! (I´m for cinematic 6" would love to see some epic shots ;)

    I think it’s a power flex that you show your dirty room. We all know we all get a little dirty. Only the fake ones clean up before recording. Great vid as always Wyatt! Keep ‘em coming!

    If you haven’t figured out the battery voltage… turn on telemetry in Betaflight if not on.
    Scan for sensors on your radio, you’ll see quad battery voltage, add a screen with the voltage and whatever other sensors or values you want to keep an eye on… now you can see all the data on your radios telemetry screen/widget
    TaDa 🎉
    😜
    I started learning LOS recently. 😊 very much prefer FPV, but launches and catches ARE hella fun 🤩
    Oh, also I removed my cameras and VTX on the LOS practice quad, no point nuking an extra few hundred $s 😜
    Also Vlogs on the iPhone are great occasionally, not every video needs massive production, better make anything than nothing, I’m a perfectionist and struggle with this personally. Especially when I’m not doing the best, I try to make sure to have the balance of not going overboard on one project and ignoring everything else.
    Have you tried light 6” bi-blade freestyle, it’s my favourite for flow, for twitch freestyle I fly 4.7-4.9” tri-blades.

    • @wyatthumphreys
      @wyatthumphreys  Рік тому +1

      Oh I didn’t know that that’s awesome. Would be so helpful to see that on my radio! Also I’m glad you recognize my struggle as a perfectionist! Glad you enjoyed the video despite the drop in quality!

    • @wyatthumphreys
      @wyatthumphreys  Рік тому +1

      My 6 inch is set up with triblade and is feeling amazing. I’ll have to try biblade at some point though that sounds interesting!

      @@wyatthumphreys it’s easy to recognize people like ourselves, that’s just how we humans are… DO make sure to take care of yourself though, that’s the most important thing!
      Personally I enjoy the content of the material… especially personality and storytelling! Production is nice, and I can appreciate it, as I have an eye/ear for it… coming from both the music and movie industry. But it’s not the most important thing!
      Flight wise, I prefer bi-blades on a lot of builds honestly. I enjoy fast response, and like the way a super fast bi-blade feels. A good lightweight tri is also great (especially with the recent 4.7-4.9” development), and I do still fly up-to 6/8 blades sometimes, they sure are super easy to break though 😜
      I enjoy many styles of flight, I don’t really put myself in a box, which likely means that I won’t excel at any one thing (which I’m perfectly okay with), but I can basically get any quad to do anything I can imagine (within its capabilities), so ultimately I’m super happy.
      I used to fly heavier builds in the past (mostly because there wasn’t as much choice and I just didn’t have the skill to really take advantage of it 😜), but recently I’m really into the lightweight high performance freestyle stuff and racing.
      Development the past couple of years is crazy awesome! …props, motors, and batteries (the foundational stuff) all made a huge jump and the firmware, control links, and video systems are all a million times better than just a few years ago!!!
      Anyway…
      Happy flying! …and be good to the one you see in the mirror.

    Its actually super fun. I fly with a screen because i hate goggles and the idea of strangers sneaking up on me. When you fly with a screen, you randomly go line of sight every now and then. Its super fun and makes you feel like a 3D helicopter pilot.

      Omg i relate to that so much. Number one reason why I don’t fly bando’s alone. Also seems like it could be fun to fly with a screen so that I could fly and talk to the camera at the same time!
