The door may not have been hiding a bunker, but there was a pretty advanced fire protection set up installed there with the pipes and valves working with gravitation. I would say extremely impressive. Thanks for going inside the small bunker you two and giving us a idea of what it looked like.
Me Too! I feel the excitement and curiosity and respect for leaving things be where they were found. I understand this German [I am American], but it's nice to see respect for people that are no longer here. I Can Not Imagine What The War Was Like. My GranDad told me one story, one, when I was a kid. Mom said not to, that it upset him, but I wish I did ask later as a teen. He was a terrific gentleman and I miss him a great deal. I still have his memorabilia from the war. Peace and Love to EVERYONE.
@@aduck558 Bro. If it is a freaking bunker. Or anything to do with WW2 military and it's in Germany? Then odds freaking are it's the Natzis. Use your freaking head dude!!!
In my mind, you are very fortunate to be able to do this. Every video I have seen so far all I can do is imagine the events that were going on at the time the items you find caused them to be in the situation you find them in.
That’s a lot of pipes under that cover. Could be a water system. I would try to estimate the directions of the pipes leading out and follow them to see were they went or ended up at. Am sure you get all kinds of advice from your viewers on what they would do but we’re not there. I wonder if the wood in the doorways were put there to form the concrete for the steel hinges. Once the concrete dried, the wood would be removed and the steel hinges were put in. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that before when watching your other videos. What an interesting bunker. I hope you go back to this location with your Olight so we can see better. Still exciting to see this bunker.
Great to see that you have returned there! Just a question, are you going back to try the bolt shutted hatch? Or do you leave it in peace now? Anyhow really nice video and I hope the next will come soon. Cheers!
From the very first video I discovered of WW2HistoryHunter, I have become addicted to watching them from start to finish. Absolutely amazing videos. The man hates spiders for real!!
Its kinda sad to think about the horrors that people went through in there, I mean imagine how loud gun fire must have been, then you have other fears of fire and the like, German , French , English who care its still a person,
Did you find any evidence that the pipes were for fire protection? Did you see any hydrants? I wonder if there was more than ammunition storage going on there. You were there and would know but it’s unusual to me that the would go through that much trouble for fire protection. The bunker was nice to see. Maybe you can go back with the Olight to light the bunker up better. Still a nice adventure.
Its the same in Germany. 250000 - 300000 tons of explosives lying around germany till this day. Weapons disposal service assumes a duration of around 70 years to find and clear most of the ammunitions and explosives.
My son and I are enjoying your video explorations. I lived in Europe for awhile when I was younger and I still talk about the tight historical spots we got into at times. Here in the USA I'm a wreck and cave diver and I've dove on two u-boats (352 off North Carolina and u-853 off Block Island, Rhode Island. I love history and exploring it and you're doing a great job of it and thanks for putting them up here where we can enjoy it too.
The pipes and valves are definitely fuel related there was an old airfield near where I lived and i remember seeing something just like that on the perimeter area when we were kids getting into all sorts of trouble :-) .Thank you for the fantastic video 'And take care out there .
Omg you freaked me out here! You just show up there all by yourself, start exploring all by yourself, then SUDDENLY you asked questions in the dark that magically got an answer! And you acted so flipping calmly to it! Then it hits me: "there's someone else with him...." gah stop freaking out my brain man!
You do a great job with these videos! Keep up the good work and I commemorate you and the time, effort and dedication you put towards discovery and acknowledging and respecting history. Good work!
Awesome!!! The thick wood around the turret holes is for exactly what you thought, to stop bullets from bouncing around or ricocheting and possibly hitting the german. So the wood would "catch" the bullet. That bunker was a great find. I hope you go back with a better light and also look at that sword thing lol
Cool videos @WWIIHistoryHunter ! I'd recommend to buy a stronger flashlight or (if you use a big camera to get your shot) you can get an attachement LED panel, which would light up the entire room :)
this video has my heart racing with excitement but stricken with horror due to the fact that if that was me and my light crapped out I'd loose it but good on ya for being so chill
Well, Mr. HistoryHunter I watched this video again and still don't know how I missed the one before this one. Seeing these underground bunkers makes me think of our two kids when the were in college at Abilene, Texas in ACU near an old SAC or Strategic Air Command Base where there are empty missile silos. Well after our son and daughter were out of school, married and gone they told us about going down in one of the empty silos and where the missile was supposed to be was a big black hole with water at the bottom. We could not believe they were down in one of them. I told my doctor about it because he went to the same school and he said his room mate let him off there so he could go down in one. The reason he let him off is because if the police saw a car they would wait and give them a ticket for going into the silos. Anyhow, just a bit of trivia. You and your kids keep up the good work and be careful about holes in the ground. Thanks again for the great videos! Chevy
