- A quick look at the new Power Plate from @RottweilerPerformance for the 2019 and 2020 KTM 790 Adventure R.
This simple part adds a prefilter to the system while increasing air flow to the bike. Its a win win and can be had at www.rottweilerperformance.com - Розваги
I just installed this today. Installation was really easy. It’s a well thought out design.
Its a great piece but the full intake is even better :)
Nice Vid Travis....I always like your videos - Thanks!!!
Thanks Keith. Always just having fun and enjoying putting these together
Sick shirt, loved sage forever your videos are A+ new to enduro riding and just bought a new bike (2020 beta) don't hate lol. Keep it up!!!
Thanks Man, picked it up at a show years ago. Have fun in the Beta, they are great bikes
Great video, thanks Travis. Having a look at the airbox area between the snorkels and air filter I am concerned with just how much dust gets pulled in even when riding alone. I have installed the Aus Uni-Filter which is working well but gets dirty very quickly. Will be installing the Powerplate next. Just hope the bike gets enough air through with both these mods. In South Africa some guys have gone as far as blocking off the drainage holes at the bottom due to the powder dust making its way through those little rubbers. They just remove them again when washing the bike
This doesn't make any more power. But my stock filter stays clean and I just clean the powerplate now. Works great
I see a trans saver on your bench, just bought one for my 790R, and the wind screen knob, no more tools to remove it! Rottweiler makes some quality stuff.
Yes they do. I have another video coming soon
Will be purchasing very soon. Good video
Thanks, I appreciate it
Keep up the videos Travis!
Thanks so much !
Nice Vid! One thing that I would have done differently is to remove and relocate that sticker with the suspension clicker information, that way it is still legible with the filter on. Looks like a solid product!
If it's something you plan on using its a great idea. I plan on going through and changing all that stuff so it didn't bother me. But I like the idea
Interesting now to see if it works I use the AUS unifilter it is kick ass
It should be an awesome combination between the two
Awesome! I wonder if anyone will make a short range enduro tank for a little extra clearance in the tight stuff
That would be awesome
Tank clearance through rocks has been my biggest concern so far
@@nikos-giorgos lol you're not wrong mate. It's not so much of a complaint though as much an option people might like.
Hey Travis, thanks for the video. Can you tell a performance difference with the more airflow? Are you running a decat exhaust? Thx!
Can't tell any power difference. But I just clean this vs buying a new paper filter now. I have Arrow Decat and slip on
Liking the 790 so far? I think your focus has been off-road but how does it work on the road?
I did 320 miles in one day a couple weeks ago. It was comfortable, had plenty power, and did everything I wanted it to
I don't have much to compare it to besides street bikes, but I definitely did not have any complaints
KTM sells foam filters... replaced it on my bike the day I got it. A little pricy but works great so far
Yeah but it's not going to open up the air box, I like the power plate, Rottweiler makes great stuff
@@jimenagulla9081 well it opens it up a little but at the same time restricts airflow by adding a filter.. only the dyno can tell if it actually helps. I wouldn't mess with the intake without remapping the mcu, its capabilities to correct with the mfu are usually quite limited. It really isn't as simple as on a carbureted 2 stroke
Rottweiler should have some dyne charts up very soon. they test everything they make
Did you oil the filter before installing? It looked dry to me
Not for the video. But I did after
Do you think that this airbox mod followed by a slip on exhaust with the cat still on would need any kind of tuning?
No I don’t. The bikes are smart enough and compensate for any changes you make.
@@EverySingleSunday thanks man
Any idea when Rottweiler will have it up on the website?
It should be this week. Im not 100% sure but that what they were telling me last week when I was there. Give them a call maybe if you want to ensure its the 1st batch.
Was the sound different after installing this?
I didn't notice much. Bike is kinda loud with a cat delete. sorry
You dont use filter oil for the plate?
I do. I use Maxima
Dumb question: are you supposed to put air filter oil on the foam before install (I know you didn'y here).
Yes you are
So, your trying to fix a problem of a paper filter getting over clogged by adding an additional pre-filter. Why not just design a high flow washable K&N type performance filter for less cost & higher flow than the stock paper which is a restriction point even if clean? Will it just get too clogged up in between cleans? Assume it’s more economical, better Cv which increases performance
K&N doesn't work well in dirt compared to a foam filter.
This also opens up the airbox to allow better flow. So, it does more than act as a prefilter.
Rottweiler will be releasing an entire airbox shortly with a different filter element. But that's still a ways out
Every Single Sunday good to know on dirt foam vs K&N. Just bought this bike, always put high flow filters & remove exhaust restrictions on my bikes, so will consider. Would say changing the box opens mass, but adding another membrane to pass through most likely nets airflow relatively close to factory. Will look forward to your future air box package, sounds like may be the option I’m thinking. Thanks for posting
@@THEelduderino it all just comes down to how much dirt vs street you plan on riding.
Also, if you buy this, Rottweiler will put the full amount towards the purchase of the airbox if you decide to get one later. So, it technically doesn't cost you anything to get this now
In Australia the 790 comes standard with a foam filter
how come you removed the stock filter? that seems unnecessary
Sorry, not sure what you mean
@@EverySingleSunday sorry. i omitted a word in my original question. i asked "how come you removed the oem air filter?" i just installed this power plate and i didn't remove the air filter. btw, thanks a bunch for the video! i followed your instructions. easy peazy. seeing how easy it was motivated me to buy it. rottweiler owes you a commission, unless you got the power plate for free. :-D
I removed it to see how dirty it was. It was pretty dusty so I replaced it with a new one
think i'll just reuse the foam snorkel socks from my 1190.
You can do whatever you'd like.... But this flows more air than the snorkels do
@@EverySingleSunday No dyno data so that doesn't prove any performance benefit. It is a pre-filter and that's it.
1st 😂😂
You win... A piece of burnt toast ?
Every Single Sunday lol fantastic
But you have to make it for yourself 🤷🏻♂️
Every Single Sunday awww man 😂😂
