"Sunday Drive" in the NA MX5

This is a bit like the "Slow TV" programmes from a few years ago. It's just a Sunday drive on the Central Coast of NSW taken from the same fixed point camera & angle (sorry about the buffeting winds). The 1989 MX5 is following our 1986 Ford XF Falcon S Pac wagon. A JDM vehicle, the MX5 is really a Eunos Roadster. Its production number 1537 (there were over 400,000 first generation NA MX5/Roadster/Miatas produced). It's probably the oldest one in Australia, although there's an older one in New Zealand. If you have an earlier one in Oz, please let me know. This car came to Australia when it was 15 years old with 17,000 kilometres on the clock; it spent its first years on Tokyo streets. It’s showing 125,000 kilometres now. It seems a crazy-cheap price, but we only paid $500 Australian dollars for it in May of 2019. A new battery and driver’s side glass, and she was good to go.

Thanks for watching. We were VERY lucky to buy this one for $500 Australian dollars in May 2019. It was crazy cheap, so much so that I thought I was scammed as I paid before picking it up in case I lost it to someone else or the owner realised its true value. Hopefully a good one comes up for you. They are fun, well-balanced things.
