After giving it a quick go the sense of influence you have on the fish is deeply vague and barely adjusts any fast movements they make. You can turn a great deal to one side and slowly bring in one veering off, but if it chooses to go that same direction, it just will and your steep angle doesn't seem to matter. Not well thought out.
Soft criticism here but if you ever plan to return to this concept, please make the story more understood, like maybe dialogue from the player, reminiscing, etc. and the fishing mechanic easier to control. Loved the bloody sea and rain.

Thinking it over I believe I figured out the story, the main character/ fisherman had a wife that he suspected was cheating on him with a friend of hers or someone she knew and some time later she got pregnant and had a baby. But the main character/ fisherman still suspected she cheated on him and got pregnant with her lover's child instead of his, so in a jealous rage he killed all three of them either by drowning them or by cutting them up and then desposing the. bodies by dumping them in a river. And after doing all that the main character / fisherman tries to get his mind off of what he done by going on a fishing trip, but his guilty eats at him and he sees what we witness in the game.

The poem at the end was deep. What i got out of it was that a man lost his wife and child because he believed she was not loyal to him. Now he has nothing. It's possible that the metaphore to this is that he's lost at sea (the world) constantly trying to get his life back and the fishing represents how much hes struggling trying to get her and his child back. Maybe thats why the gameplay is so difficult. It shows how persistent the man is at trying to get his life back the way it was no matter how difficult. But hey that's just a theory.
