This was your best video yet. But first of all, thanks for the shout-out. If anybody wants good advice on how to grow their UA-cam channel - sign up for DJ's patreon. I got way more than I paid for. Been working all afternoon on the stuff he suggested. Watching the subs roll in.
    Now - your video -
Love the eyeball advice - sometimes true scale measurements don't translate to the layout.
Love the repurposing of a kit. It's fun to just make stuff work.
Brick weathering was right on point.
I'm with you all the way on the Plastic Weld - But now I buy a can of MEK substitute from the hardware store (or Amazon) - a quart for $13, or a gallon for $24 - and use a pipette to refill the small Plastruct bottle - and I always kick a little fan on when I get this stuff out.
I feel like I made a friend today too. Thanks!

Very nice piece DJ. The way fact that you conclude so much about a single piece before putting it together is incredible, and you can see it in the finished pieces. The brick mortar is excellent, and the new flashing around the vent stack in the roof is 👌 touch. I may have added a very light blackwash to everything at the end, but nonetheless, excellent work.

JTT Scenery makes some good scratch building styrene sheets too and it's less expensive. Their brick sheets are really nice and easy to use.

Excellent video with widespread application. BTW, don't overlook the possibilities of cement block. The prototype might also have blocked the arched doorways and the windows. Not as attractive as brick, but quick, cheap and effective.

A hint for your viewers Check Craig's List garage sales that have craft or arts and crafts in the description. I have picked up cutting mats for $1-3 almost new Slightly worn cutting boards for $1 open acrylic paints and brushes really cheap.

Great video. That thing is a masterpiece. Looks like so many buildings I see around Pittsburgh. I’ll send some pictures of the building at my new job. You might want to drone it.

how can you mess it up? This is the reason why I make these videos. I'm not special, I mess up things, but then either redo it, or accept it. But not doing something out of fear is the worst issue with this hobby.ua-cam.com/video/5T9sZtV0BDM/v-deo.html

Nice video, DJ! Over the years I've used a lot of Evergreen styrene for scratchbuilding and it's very good. You can save some money by buying bulk styrene sheet from plastics supply houses via Amazon. Various thicknesses are available in page-sized sheets. And I've found them to be of good quality. Cheers from Wisconsin.

I have wasted more money on only getting a half a can or less, before their nozzles clog. I shake and shake and shake prior. Beyond frustrated with them.

@@djstrains I always wipe the tip with a paper towel immediately after spraying. Some paints will say to turn can upside down and shoot till the spray turns clear.
