This tutorial was so good that now I'm struggling with single tapping after just 5 days of doing this 😂😂. I was a hybrid single tapper for 90 hours total playtime. If anyone is curious, I basically followed his steps but didn't do it for a month because ain't nobody got time for dat. 1. Switch to your non dominate finger for single tapping for 2+ days. Only alternate if needed such when you need to do burst or streams. 2. After the third day, I started easing in full alternating in lower stars, 2-4 stars (which was a struggle at first but I then got used to it the next day and it 85% muscle memory now). 3. Profit with better finger control which helps stamina and can help with finger control with bursts and streams! Though be warned, going back to single tap will feel weird and "wasted" and you will lose a lot of accuracy at first
yeah practicing it really slowly is the way to go. i once challenged myself to learn 1.5 star maps where i alternate from button 1 to button 2 to mouse button 1 to mouse button 2. it's like 10 times harder than normal alternating but the slow practice is everything.
I mainly singletap but I now alternate high bpms (250+) I learned alternating by playing burst maps with full alternate. It sounds weird but it helped me alot. Burst maps like cheatreal, burn this moment into the retina of my eyes, etc.
thanks for this!!!! i just needed motivation to start alternating, and watching this defnitely helped. my mindset has been "oh alternating will just come as i get better, plus im already good at single tapping.." but like.. as im improving i have to strain myself more to single tap really fast maps and i find myself failing, yet im still holding onto this mindset. ive started forcing myself to alternate and focus on my non-dominant, and its helping!! i still have a lot of practice to do tho hahah
The best part is. 5 years ago alternating was considered inaccurate and bad, now we're reaching a point in dif at the highest level where you HAVE to alternate unless you have inhuman finger control
Man single tapping high bpm then trying to learn alternating is like the hardest thing ever cuz basically you have to get your non dominant hand to be on par with your dominant hand and that could take months.
I found save that shit really helpful for learning how to alternate and after getting more used to it I found harder, better, faster, stronger far out remix to be helpful

I've been playing osu on and off for 7 years and still don't alternate. Granted, I play the game more for fun rather than trying to beat scores but I feel like I need to learn this so I can finally play harder maps. I've been stuck on maps that are about 3.5 stars for years

seriously, 4 days i told myself i am learning alternate. I played for a while but I always switched to one tap in middle of a game. After that, I did a little better and even better with low stars. 4 days later, i.e. yesterday I turn on osu and suddenly instinctively on a 5 star map I started alternating XD So kids, alternating is not that difficult, at first I was missing everything and my head was empty i actually dont know how to click this XD and after just a few hours of playing I can't imagine how I could be one-taping only player (except streams bursts)
sometimes i alternate my fingers without even thinking but when there are fast jumps i try to single tap them and end of missing a bunch. hopefully this video will help me break out of that habit and alternate on faster bpm jumps
watched this video when i was shit, full alted for 3 months till i took 1 year break. I now single tap every jump (even VERY fast jumps) so this can help me.
I single tap most of the time but ALWAYS start doubles, triples, and streams with my middle (non-dominant) finger, so whenever I get into back-to-back triples, I always have a hard time getting through to it. So I've been practicing starting streams with my index (dominant finger). But I end up STILL starting with my middle :(. Which brought me to the conclusion of not playing maps with back-to-back triples :).
Also if someone has trouble focusing whilst alternating like me for exmaple. When i started alternating after watching this video my aim would worsen by 65-ish % and i missed almost every note. Try just playing normally as you always do on a 4-6 star map depending on your OSU ADHD levels [ I can't stand slow levels ] and help out with your alt finger. Keep single tapping and sometimes try to help yourself on those combos or jumps even tap-slides as much as you can instead of trying to alternate the entire time. Help your dominant finger out with your alt finger sometimes, but often enough for you to get used to the feeling and eye to hand coordination.
Just use the alternate mod on osu lazer and play really low star maps and keep working your way up in difficulty until you get to where you were before. It will not be fast but it works pretty well
Single tapping is normal to me (im only used to using one or two fingers per hand, ADOFAI moment and even then i suck at that), and I understand what you mean about “forcing yourself to alternate”. I kept forcing myself to alternate on 2.5-3 star maps and I immediately noticed a drop in accuracy

Damn! I can’t imagine single tapping every song. It hurts your finger if you keep tapping on the same finger. Still, I suck ass at alternating though, and I’ve been doing it ever since I played 2 1/2 star maps
How I learned alternate tapping. I used a very hard keyboard that my fingers would instinctively alternate even tho I normally single tap to the point that I mastered it. Still took me a week tho.
I had this problem where when I would do jumps I would go back to single tapping since I was more comfortable but I just slammed jump maps and forced myself to alternate then I defaulted to it. It took me around 2-3 hours.
Bruh it literally took me 1 day to switch to alternating and being able to play 4 star maps. I guess beginners really do have an advantage in terms of switching things up.
Yes, beginner does have such advantage. - Fast when it come to switching from old habits. - have better motivation than experienced player. - You can explore new songs since probably you don't know any songs to play. - And you can pick a "path" Where you want to go, how you play, your style, your favorite mods and gameplay, etc. So enjoy the game, at least.
