Great High Quality video! Thanks for making this as i somehow learned to tap lighter and feel more relaxed while streaming since i mostly tense my fingers a lot now that i think about it. (i love it when people like you make videos like this).
I've started playing with my keyboard in a vertical position and use left and right arrow keys to tap. This allows me to rest my entire arm on my minimal desk space and makes tapping much more comfortable.
Very good video Spare, I want to say the lighter tapping part was something I started doing a few years ago after I believe Azer mentioned it during one of the HappyStick interviews, I used to tap really hard on my reds and once I started tapping lighter (just enough to actuate the switch), I had my stamina almost double from 20 circle to 40 on 180bpm within a few days, so that's been the first thing I tell friends when they start streaming from a while now, I think bad tapping techniques and habits can lock a lot of people into slow or almost non-existent improvement, so I'm glad you covered it well! The raising of the arm when losing stamina was actually something I haven't tried before, and I'm keen to try it out. If I have any new friends that start playing the game I'll probably link them this video because it's really short and sweet, and easy to understand and take mental notes of. Great video, I'm excited to see you possibly make more of these improvement or generally more serious styled videos.
this video didnt only help me increase my stamina by A LOT in only 2 days but it also improved my streaming speed. i dont know why i didnt try tapping lighter myself way earlier because... well obviously if you tap hard you wont have much stamina but anyways this was so helpfull. im almost able to pass time freeze now, when i wasnt even able to come close to passing the first 3rd before. thanks for this vid ^^
Already did everything in this video and everything Ryuk said on stream and it really helped me a lot from not having much stamina and speed on 210bpm from now going to 240+ bpm for deathstreams I started that training when Ryuk dropped his video and everything in this one is also things I've done to help me. Good thing to teach others to do this as well! Keep up the work! c:
yo this actually works. deadass after i watched this video and focused on the aspect of not tapping as hard, i played some few heavy stream maps and crazy maps such as unpleasant sonata and burn this moment into the retina of my eye and my streams were more consistent, accurate, and fast. not to mention my single tapping speed got faster and my accuracy did improve on said maps since i didnt focus on tapping that much. you know those times where you just watch one thing or learn something immediately got better because you were just using the wrong technique? yeah. i just had that moment. thanks man
One of the things i do is try a map 1-5 times and move to the next map to do the same thing. I’ve gotten many of my fc’s this way and it makes the game a lot more fun to play when you’re playing a bunch of different maps
I'm a mania player coming back after a 5 year break and found myself able to read the harder maps but not having the stamina. Thank you for the tips and saving me from wrist injury.
Ryuk recommended to do Dr. Levi’s hand exercises before warming up to prevent RSI and it also warms your hands up to be more efficient when playing. I tried it for around 10-15 and it works. :D
i used to be a 6-digit farmer and now i’m going through rehab and going back to basics, playing burst/stream maps, gradually increasing difficulty, no sotarks/log off now/etc. I’ve only been doing this for the past 2 days and i’m already seeing improvement in accuracy, bursts, stamina, reading, and streams !! of course, i’m still not very good at the game, but it makes me happy even if i’m improving a little bit
Very cool. Ryuk's video on this matter helped enough. I am sure yours might be able to help me out on this a lot as I dream of being a good stream player. Thanks! :3
honestly, thank you spare. I've been 10-20k for almost 3years now. i cannot figure out how am i not being consistent in stream maps. my HABITS of tapping hard just to get good acc isn't going anywhere for me. just realized because you made this video. it's hard go get used to tapping lightly but it will conserve a lot of my stamina in 1 playing session. keep up the good work!
my 1mg switch actuation force is amazing for the light tapping part, Thank you sm for posting this keep up your amazing posts and hope you get more than just 13.1k
This is great! I was never really thinking about this but 1 month ago I realised that tapping lightly is important. I'm glad I wasn't wrong about that lol. so thanks for the video Spare!!
I like top players perspectives on things like this, because the way the info is portrayed has subtle differences which might help someone, and and clear and concise (usually xD). This video rlly shows that, as so.ething such as lifting your hand when running out of stamina isn't something 90% of players know.. and information from just as knowledgeable and experienced players that give the same info sadly don't go around much... thus it's typically the top players where the info comes from.
Got this video recommended and I'm very happy, that I watched it. Good tips Spare, they really help for getting my streaming consistency back. Keep up the amazing work !! Have an amazing day :))
After watching this I finally know why I find it easier to stream on my laptop’s keyboard compared to my mechanical keyboard (because I tap way lighter). Good video, Spare!
4 months of practice and instead of being a 4 star player, I can now do low 6 stars now, thank you so much, It was a long process but I am very happy with the results
I was watching this while playing osu. I tried some of the techniques and I have now stopped tensing and it’s made a big improvement even in the first few I did after this. Thank you. You also stopped me from feeling panicked when others are around.
thanks for this spare, recently after applying some of these techniques i ended up getting my first A rank pass on ROG, and got a 88% pass on Save Me (Tragedy). This reallly saved me on save me, my stamina just couldn't handle the constant bursts for 10 minutes and would end up dropping acc really hard on the last section, now i can go through it fine. Thanks man
Good video in my recommended, I'm glad this popped up in my recommended because people have been recommending me to play more stream maps. I highly recommend watching all the way through the video. It's very helpfull!
Heya Spare, I saw your video just now when I was randomly looking for videos for improvement in osu. I have been trying to improve my skill at the game (i.e. aim, consistency, streams, etc) bit by bit for the past two years. Progress has been slow as I play on and off, but I have noticed some parallels on the advice you gave and the stuff I picked up while trying to make my playing as precise and comfortable as possible. It's interesting, and somewhat comforting because I seem to be on the right track this time unlike myself with the bad habits like the inconsistent and forceful tapping, among others. As for progress, I couldn't even pull off 3 to 5-hit bursts in the first few months of the game, but now there are top-performance moments where I can surprisingly do a long stream in various 6-star maps that I "commit osu suicide" to via NoFail since those levels are still beyond my skill level (I have only beaten a small handful without NF). This might be another bad habit of mine, so I shouldn't probably play maps I can't beat too much. Oh, and basically I can't do deathstreams that well yet but I can enter high-speed bursts and streams most of the time now, so yeah I guess there *has* been some progress (Even if it's from 2018 to 2022, with me still at 4-5 stars *laughs). You've inspired me to "git gud" at the game again, so thanks for making this video Mr. Spare. Have a pleasant day :>
Can confirm most of what's said in this video. I used these types of optimizations to get to a top level of stamina ability in a matter of a few months shortly after starting playing osu.
I think I'll do my own video for this, but i found out that the sitting position is the MOST important thing to be aware of. No like the typical "have a straight back", but more like the sitting height and angle of your upper to lower arm. I always felt like I'm capable of doing long streams (not that speedy 240 ones, more like 200) and i've done them... but not on a regular basis. Recently I just changed my Height of my Chair (got new hydraulics if u can call them like this) and it changed my behaviour in a huge way. AND NOW i'm way more consistent and can easlily build up my skills with confident. Greetings, Maxlo
A website that helped me greatly with idenfying my streaming problems was this one: ckrisirkc.github.io/osuStreamSpeed.js/newindex.html With the website I learned that my peak streaming performance for 8-20 clicks was 120 bpm at most and even dropping down low 90s often. This was a problem that gated tons of 5* maps for me and making them impossible even though I had no problems with bursts and accuracy at all. To improve my issue I spent the past 4 months constantly playing stream heavy maps going from 4,2* to 5,1* maps and improving my stream speed to whoping 170 bpm with an UR of 90 while having very little progress at my rank and often deranking for multiple weeks (my rank progression currently is a mess) EDIT: you light tapping tip is by far the best I got, it's very weird to use but I think there is a lot of potential that I can grab when I master it, thanks!
I speak from my own experience that playing more will make you better. When i started streaming i could only stream 170 pbm but after a week of playing for 1 hour a day i could stream 180pbm and after a month of grinding i could allready stream 200pbm and youll get better the more you play. Also amazing tutorial!
you said there was no secret sauce, but i think this video is it, at the very least it's given me a motivation boost, and just consciously trying not to slam my keys with sledgehammer force has improved my finger control, speed and stamina all ready, now i just need to be able to tap faster than 180bpm and i'm set
hey, thanks for all the advice, i was stucked weeks ago, didn't know what to do to improve, i saw this video, and it's helping me a lot, im improving and im getting more stamina and consistency. Thank you again. Greetings from Chile.
Yo this is just amazing, lately i've been getting much better at 5 star stream maps because i also realised that if i try to relax i get more control over my streaming and i've been way better accuracy.
All this time I never realized my problem was that I was tensing up. I've been trying to get faster and more consistent for a few months now, really struggling to do well past 180bmp streams... And the moment I relaxed it just started to click for me. Single best advice I've had for improving!
I watched a few videos about improving on osu, including this one, and in around 2 months, I went from struggling with 6 star maps to completing them, getting an A rank on some of them
I'm going to try this technique to fc Ascension To Heaven [Death]. Thanks a bunch for all these tips, I think they'll work very well as I don't see any reason for them to not. I'll edit this comment and say if I got the fc.
I made it to the first tip "tap lighter" and had a revelation. I've been stream/stamina training for about a month and a half and always clicked incredibly heavily, thought by making every click obvious I'd be able to control speed better. Paused the video after the first tip and just went and broke over 10 scores with tapping lighter. A ranked a 250bpm map with ease, can get through the 190bpm bon appetit stream map without feeling like I've lost any stamina whereas before I'd make it about 60 seconds in and struggle to play... time to watch the rest of the video now hahahaha
As someone whos a 6 digit trying to build up to being a 5 digit, this really really helps so I wanna say thank you, ive been getting more 4 star fc's then when I was before
thanks alot when i first watched this i couldn't stream 150bmp but after using some of your tips and practiced for like a 1 month now i can do 200bpm bursts just need the stamina to stream it

I've had RSI for 3 months now due to osu. No regrets.
this video didnt only help me increase my stamina by A LOT in only 2 days but it also improved my streaming speed. i dont know why i didnt try tapping lighter myself way earlier because... well obviously if you tap hard you wont have much stamina but anyways this was so helpfull. im almost able to pass time freeze now, when i wasnt even able to come close to passing the first 3rd before. thanks for this vid ^^
Thank you for the tips and saving me from wrist injury.
same except 2 years
Ryuk recommended to do Dr.
Thanks! :3
I haven't seen anyone mention tapping lighter to improve stamina, but I started to do it a couple of months ago and it's honestly a game changer
bro went from choking this deathstream consistently to immediately going through it with ease ngl helped me so im happy
Thanks for the tips! I can pass we luv llama dt now
honestly, thank you spare. I've been 10-20k for almost 3years now. i cannot figure out how am i not being consistent in stream maps. my HABITS of tapping hard just to get good acc isn't going anywhere for me. just realized because you made this video. it's hard go get used to tapping lightly but it will conserve a lot of my stamina in 1 playing session. keep up the good work!
we love the spare content - we miss the spare owc :(
my 1mg switch actuation force is amazing for the light tapping part, Thank you sm for posting this keep up your amazing posts and hope you get more than just 13.1k
Best tip: W A T E R (also please don't be like me and strain your wrists I beg people
Water is yummy!
This is great! I was never really thinking about this but 1 month ago I realised that tapping lightly is important. I'm glad I wasn't wrong about that lol. so thanks for the video Spare!!
1:36 skin plz
glad you kept this video loved it . just started a couple months ago and have gone from 4.4m to 400k very helpful .
Jesus this is high effort
I like top players perspectives on things like this, because the way the info is portrayed has subtle differences which might help someone, and and clear and concise (usually xD). This video rlly shows that, as so.ething such as lifting your hand when running out of stamina isn't something 90% of players know.. and information from just as knowledgeable and experienced players that give the same info sadly don't go around much... thus it's typically the top players where the info comes from.
hey yo wtf I played some of the maps that u have in the description then tried some of my fav and I just sniped my scores wth
Got this video recommended and I'm very happy, that I watched it. Good tips Spare, they really help for getting my streaming consistency back.
Keep up the amazing work !! Have an amazing day :))
funorange trainer program dont even open, does anyone have the same issue? I tried on 2 computers ;v

@@SPAREOS Thank you Spare for helping but i tried really everything including few versions of net framework and nothing helps

After watching this I finally know why I find it easier to stream on my laptop’s keyboard compared to my mechanical keyboard (because I tap way lighter). Good video, Spare!
spazza17 is sweating rn
Hey Spare, thanks for joining our multi lobby a couple times last week! It was fun to have you.
I tried to tap softer and got better aim and more stamina instant even tho I dont manage to tap soft most of the time :D
thanks for this spare, recently after applying some of these techniques i ended up getting my first A rank pass on ROG, and got a 88% pass on Save Me (Tragedy). This reallly saved me on save me, my stamina just couldn't handle the constant bursts for 10 minutes and would end up dropping acc really hard on the last section, now i can go through it fine. Thanks man
when im run out of stamina, i dont really tense tho xd
Good video in my recommended, I'm glad this popped up in my recommended because people have been recommending me to play more stream maps. I highly recommend watching all the way through the video. It's very helpfull!
A much more better response than "play more".
Just fc'd freedom dive +HR with your entire setup thanks for these tips 🙏🏽
still waiting on mutual - Spire
I am just rocking with a membrane keyboard and 5$ mouse
Spare. Have a pleasant day :>
I thought I was watching bubbleman
Can confirm most of what's said in this video. I used these types of optimizations to get to a top level of stamina ability in a matter of a few months shortly after starting playing osu.

This actually helps and makes sence on how explained. I couldnt pass the 5* dj mag and after +-2 months i am closing to FC it.

pain
i cant stream 2 bpm
I can stream 180 on good days
I think I'll do my own video for this, but i found out that the sitting position is the MOST important thing to be aware of. No like the typical "have a straight back", but more like the sitting height and angle of your upper to lower arm. I always felt like I'm capable of doing long streams (not that speedy 240 ones, more like 200) and i've done them... but not on a regular basis. Recently I just changed my Height of my Chair (got new hydraulics if u can call them like this) and it changed my behaviour in a huge way. AND NOW i'm way more consistent and can easlily build up my skills with confident.
Greetings,
Maxlo

actually the best stamina tips/guide vid i've seen
A website that helped me greatly with idenfying my streaming problems was this one: ckrisirkc.github.io/osuStreamSpeed.js/newindex.html
With the website I learned that my peak streaming performance for 8-20 clicks was 120 bpm at most and even dropping down low 90s often. This was a problem that gated tons of 5* maps for me and making them impossible even though I had no problems with bursts and accuracy at all.
To improve my issue I spent the past 4 months constantly playing stream heavy maps going from 4,2* to 5,1* maps and improving my stream speed to whoping 170 bpm with an UR of 90 while having very little progress at my rank and often deranking for multiple weeks (my rank progression currently is a mess)
EDIT: you light tapping tip is by far the best I got, it's very weird to use but I think there is a lot of potential that I can grab when I master it, thanks!
Greetings from Chile.
its been a couple days since i watched this but i went from barely being able to do 160 to almost being able to do 190 TYSM!!
Phenomenal video quality. Good job, Yanny.
I never even thought of how I tap, now I realize that, it sounds like I'm embedding my keycaps in my keyboard, this really helps, thanks
Thank you so much for making this video, even as a mania player the majority of these tips really helped me jump from 3 star maps to 4 star maps!
This is nice. Even if I don't play osu (main mode) that much, most of his tips can be applied even to other rhythm games. Helpful, really.
Really nice editing on this, great video!
Great video Spare, looking forward to seeing more of these!
Every monday i gonna pass here to tell my improvement in osu speed, stamina and stream, thanks for the video.
Bro just wtf, thanks
Tell me your improvement after 3 month 🙃
@@Yerolie i pass image material with one A, and i pass some maps 248bpm with A too. 😀
Helped with fast ctb jumps, good video!
I think not everyone noticed this, there are several maps in the description for osu!standart practice
@Kenneth I sure will, even if it takes me years to FC that beatmap.
Really good video, I'll have to give these tips a try starting tomorrow and see how my progression goes
The "Don't tense" tip actually helped me alot with my speed and stamina. It feels like i've been holding my potential back when I tense more.
As someone whos a 6 digit trying to build up to being a 5 digit, this really really helps so I wanna say thank you, ive been getting more 4 star fc's then when I was before
went from consistent 180 bpm to consistent 210 in a week, thanks this helped
Spare saving my day with good tips. Thanks ❤
thanks alot when i first watched this i couldn't stream 150bmp but after using some of your tips and practiced for like a 1 month now i can do 200bpm bursts just need the stamina to stream it
