HE IS JUST A PROUD FATHER LOL.
Father Instinct.
8 sounds super young, but when you think about what that actually means it's unreal. At 7 I was still learning how to read lol, meanwhile she's doing simuls. I hope she sticks with chess, excited to see where she gets with it
Kids these days are born into insane technology. Their brains are at a much different level from that of our childhoods. Impressive none the less.
@@Wargasm54 But it's a double-edged sword, too: For every prodigy, there's probably over a thousand iPad kids.
She is probably also learning to read. These things are not linear.
@@nelsonnicholson6175the other double-edged sword is whether she gets a childhood... cos the polgar sisters kinda didn't get theirs
@@alveolateThat's her life, she is an unusual kid. Watch the feature content Levy talked about, instead of being on a IPad she learns chess....
Bodhana is simply the future of women's english chess. I was playing in 4ncl when she was sitting at the board infront of me in division 1, destroying a WIM while she is in a BOOSTER SEAT. Truly a prodigy
No pressure on that 8 year old! 😂

She could easily become strong enough to compete in open tournaments, not only in womens. EDIT: It's so unreal it's hard to put into words correctly. I'll try again: She IS already strong enough to compete in open tournaments against grandmasters.

An 8 year old girl drew a grandmaster... 👏👏👏
Which grandmaster did the 8 year old draw? What grade did the painting teacher give her
Not impressive, my 4 year old daughter can do the same with enough crayons
Shes gonna be a legend, I can tell. I can't wait to see the world fear a new Genius.
Hope she continues this as a career. She could really actually be one of the greats if she enjoys chess.
I wouldn't blame her if she wants to get into sciences, or math with that smarts.
You know you never lose the title of Grandmaster, right?
@@MrHeroicDemonchess skill doesn't make you smart, don't keep spreading that misconception.
Stories like these inspire me and give me hope for our future. I was once in a tournament back when I was rated around 2000 and I was absolutely destroyed by a 9 year old asian boy. It was a brilliant battle and I gave him all I could but he made it look so easy. I was so impressed and thanked him. Kids are incredible.
how is that giving you hope for the future? Do you think she is going to checkmate war, hunger, dispair and disease? What is going to be influenced by her besides chess? Comments like this make me lose hope for our future. Get a grip at reality bro...

DON’T LET THE WORLD KILL HER INTEREST AND PROGRESSION PLEASE!
How will the world do that?
@@cammiex7238If she plays with women. Then she will only become the best woman. That would be the worst thing you could do to her.
@@cammiex7238 These child prodigies can get pushed too much, or get too much exposure at a young that when they get older they start disliking the the thing they had interest in or became famous for. A good example of this is Vanessa Mae the famous violinist from Taiwan, she got pushed so much from her mother that in later life she gave up the violin.
i actually saw her in person at the world cadets championships- her chess is terrifying and astonishing at the same time
fr
I believe I read she also broke the record for most FIDE points gained in a single competition. Something around 300-350 points. Was a blitz tournament facing mainly WIM and WGM players. Absolutely amazing
More videos on this girl as she progresses, please. I think she was the highest ranked seven year old, ever.
Really nice to see videos featuring some of the chess players who might be big names in a few years, would love to see more of these
Certainly a rising star in the Chess world. I just hope Bodhana doesn't believe all the hype about herself as she grows older and more experienced. That way she will cope with the fame and recognition at such a young age.
It was so lovely hearing positive chess news on non-chess TV for once. I hope she continues to grow and achieve!
Love the positivity and encouragement of this young girl
awesome seeing her taking headlines at a young age. Can't wait to see Levy show more of her games
I hope all this attention doesn't weight on her too much. Having so many eyes from all over the world looking at her is very stressful even for an adult
Levy never fails to let us know who will be wrecking Magnus in five years time
Magnus is the goat, nobody is touching him
@NoobismSK2 Vaishali Pragnanandhaa beat Magnus in 2013 in Chenai, during a Simul. No one is untouchable. The comment of "wrecking Carlsen in 5 years' time" is entirely plausible. He is incredible at chess, but he's not a bot, he's human. And this new generation of chess players STARTED with game theory spawned from Stockfish. Can you IMAGINE starting THERE?
Sorry but you can keep dreaming about that😂😂😂
Ain't nobody touching magnus
@@curtisholsinger6023Prag can defeat magnus along with a thousand other grandmasters but they all can never be better than him.
Games are games. Goat is goat
15 years at the top and counting. . Bodhana is fantastic but to beat The GOAT she has to get to the top in the Open section and stay there for 15 years or more. . I wish her luck! . A female world champion would be brilliant!
Ooooh that photo of the girl and the old man is just magic.
love that you’re covering Bodhana, the next big thing!!

No, she's too strong. Send her to planet Vampa
I think bodhana is just feeling honoured and proud because she got to be featured in a gotham chess video.
awesome! looking forward to follow ups on this young master
Wow! Really enjoyed this. You know, a series covering the up and coming kids would be a fantastic addition. "Big Kids", like "Guess the Elo", as a theme (?) would be great. We know the top players are great, but showing who is up and coming .... and explaining why ... that would be cool. It is less cool when done after the fact, after all.
I was intorduced to her when she had a conversation and played against the older GM. She can play aggressive without risking too many fundamental chess ideas in the process. Dangerous.
2:13 yes, she beat the England women’s team coach Lorin D’Costa.
Very strange end because D’Costa was in a winning position (2 pawns and a knight vs just a bishop). D’Costa flagged and somehow there was a legal checkmate still possible for Sivanandan (don’t ask me how 😂) so the arbiter awarded her the win.
She is a remarkable kid and as long as she continues to enjoy chess the sky really is the limit.
well Blitz wins do not count for real strength. i also bet a 2200 player at a tournament without even having any rating. got to an equal position in the endgame and just forced a win on time. so i was at least 600 elo lower rated (if i had a rating) but could still win.
D'Costas pieces can block escape of the king. It's practically impossible to pull off in a game but it's how FIDE rules it.
@@ruaras6198 yeah, I believe so but if you gave me all day I couldn’t find the sequence of moves for white to win the game. I’m not saying anything was wrong with the decision, it just looks very strange to win in that position.
If there is a rook pawn, then an example mate is with the Black king on h1, the Black pawn on h2, the White king on f1, and the white bishop on the h1-a8 diagonal. It's not realistic, but FIDE rules don't account for that.
Loved your genuine enthusiasm. Rock on, Levy. Rock on.

8-yo girl never fails to appear in a video of this guy
... what the fuck
02:57 Kramnik: Hmm...Interesting
Absolutely phenomenal video! As a 6-year-old who adores chess, I'm so inspired by Boron Sandan's journey. It's incredible to see someone so young achieve such remarkable results in the competitive world of chess. Her determination and skill are truly outstanding, especially her performance at the European Blitz Chess Championship where she scored 8.5 out of 13 against a field filled with Grandmasters. Her game analysis, particularly the draw against a seasoned Grandmaster, shows her strategic depth and foresight on the board. It's heartwarming to see young talents like Boron paving the way for future generations in chess. She's not just a player to watch; she's a budding superstar setting new standards in the game. I can't wait to see where her talent will take her next. Go Boron! 💪👑 #ChessProdigy #FutureChessStar
Also participated, did very well in the Rapid Section but had a horrible day in the Blitz. I am a 2450 IM and she finished ahead of me. Yes, I was in very bad shape, but nevertheless my performance was 2200 and that is said to be unthinkable for 8 year olds. I will be watching her career with great interest!

I really like Levi's enthusiasm for the game.
That 1944 rating cannot be right. I'm just below that and this looks like chess well above my level.
it was blitz rating.
She clearly hasn't reached her ceiling yet.
