I actually found the Queen G3 move without knowing the queen could be forked on the next move
That is a typical base for a 900 elo player like me, u just see a chance to make a checkmate, I didn't see a fork rapidly and wondered why this was a brilliant move.. but they is not such a move as an idea with extra-class calculating including sacrifice.
ignorance is bliss sometimes hahaha
This was absolutely beautiful. Chess really is art, sometimes.
Wow, a comment not written by an NPC for a change
@@goonerboy93 gotham viewers never fail to be wholesome in the replies ❤
Levi never fails to tickle our toes ❤ @@TheMosayat
Why only art deserves to be beautiful?
@@cosmos1487nobody said that except you
Levy never fails to hold the 9 key for 3-5 business days
Hypixel skyblock reference?
Lol
Wizard portal opened bro
@@somerandomperson4167Rick and morty reference? Omg did you watch unmortricken that was a BANGER
Damn that’s a good one
I always prefer this calm, mannered commentary than the over the top theatrical performances. I love commedy and some variability, but if you speak 70% calm, then screaming the rook or facepalming hard on blunders stand out more. Just my opinion. Great video as always.
I think especially for the recaps the calm demeanor is better. It would be better (imo) if he reserved the more comedic side for something like GTE or while streaming
@@eddiefrench9941 eh there are so many UA-camrs that do that. The reason gc is so big is because of the crazy commentary. Makes him stand out
yes
i agree. i love the theatrical perfomances as well, but i do think, if they are on "specific occasions" it would hit harder
lol
Stavroula is a beast. By the age of 20 she already won the world youth championship 3 times. At one point she was top 14th women U21.
I firmly believe she will become gm next year. 💪🏻
And we haven't had any Greek women GMs ever I believe
She cooked this game
@@apostolis.diamantopoulos είναι σίγουρα η Μαρίνα Μακροπούλου απ'το 82 και η Άννα Μαρία Μπότσαρη απ'το 93.
Yes I think so
Stavroula is the best player in Greece on both genders, maybe after nikolas theodorou
Levy never fails to put a bunch of numbers in his titles
use DeArrow for more sensible titles. no more clickbait
@@oussama7132wow, thanks for literally changing my life! I did not know about this extension. Now I only need to figure out how to get it into ReVanced.
Batmanchess never fails to use clickbait
GothamChess never fails to always change the title of his videos later on
@@devil_melWOW.
That “I don’t know I’m not a chess pro” was venomous holy shit
Don’t care what other say about you being a chess pro, I’ve already learnt more chess from you than any other person, and thanks to you I really enjoy the tournament games and chess content, and I’m sure that I am just one of many, thanks for what you do Levy! 🙌🏽
14:15 - One thing I find interesting about this position is that it's initially +1.9, then it gradually increases as the depth increases. Eventually at Depth 30 Stockfish thinks Nxf5 is +4.9. It's the only move about +0.0 eval.
15:45 is when the brilliant move occurs.
Tysm
Levy never fails to make entertaining videos while in hostage

underrated comment
Props to Levy's hostage keepers to let him make chess videos

When a move is so brilliant that it gets 3 exclamation marks
Honestly Levy, I really love the quieter commentary from you. It just provides more appreciation for the quiet brilliance of moves/games like these.
Levy never fails to change the tilte 3 times in 30 minutes
Was there in London on sunday and just wanted to say, thank you Levy, for the show and for helping me through my chess journey.
No problem
you are welcome
It was Saturday though, it was good tho can’t wait for the book signing tomorrow
Stavroula has demonstrated her fighting spirit in chess many times (including when she won the world championship in her age group). And yes this was a "γαμάτο" i.e. gamato move. Damn!
Hey Levy, I definitely enjoy the calmer demeanor in these videos. Very relaxing to learn with
Levy never fails to feature his neighbors in his chess videos
Levi never fails to be in London and still make content for us to enjoy.
This is the most brilliant move ever...It represents everything that is brilliant about chess. Visions and concepts
Levy never fails to make billions of brilliant move

Trillions
Billions must move brilliantly
Quintillions

Sextillions even
veeery abnormal to see brilliancy awarded to a defending move, not an attacking one.
Levy never disappoint us with his creative title ¡Good Job Levy! 👍
6:05 My favourite line 😂
Was trying to find this comment lol
@@SuperJSM wow 🤣
I really enjoy the calm demeanor! It’s nice to listen to before I sleep myself lol. Having a mix of both types of vids would be great!
I just finished your book. I just wanted to say- well done. It's incredibly well written and easy to understand, and as a 1480 rapid, I still learned plenty from it. Looking forward to volume 2 for intermediate/advanced players ;)
Amazing move. I still like Fischer’s bishop retreat the best: Not only sacs a queen but leaves a knight hanging and retreats his most active piece all in one.
One can really appreciate that you despite being in a hotel room in a different country you still take the time and effort to record a video so that poeple can watch a new entertaining upload after a long day. Best chess youtuber.
"I don't know the ideas, I'm not a chess pro." LOL
I like these calm videos ~ very nice for when im studying or working on my own projects ~
Brilliancy never fails to speak for itself
Chess channels should block the phrase "speaks for itself" from the comments so NPC bots stop spamming it. Its been like a whole year or more now god just stop already.
@@NowhereMan7 so you think I am bot?
@@NowhereMan7 I mean this is a legendary phrase and you can't block it
@@NowhereMan7
"Speaks for itself" is chess-related and so 5000 times better than "XY never fails"
Sorry you got kidnapped again levy
2:53 its definetly something new, i love your usual commentarys but in this calm voice i was actually able to follow much better what was going on on the board, but it doesnt beat your top of the game entertainment 😂
I prefer the ~paranoid that someone is at the door but continues commentary~ demeanor
I remember the best move I've ever seen OTB, It was by one of our better players at King's Lynn Chess Club. His rating was about 2300 and he played a triple piece sacrifice to get a mate in 8. Amazing. He also is a published chess book author.
So doesn't that becomes the best MOVES you have seen
Also not to brag but I played a quadruple piece sacrifice combination which lead to a mate in like 15 moves(not forced cuz opponent could have re-sacrificed more material than I sacrificed to stop the checkmate)
Overall, was the best game I played
before even receiving levy's book i've already climbed by an astounding 17 elo pints.
kidnappers never fail to let levy make his videos
I love recaps and like the calm demeanor. Hype is okay too.
beautiful game, great review. thanks Levy
Absolutely love the more lowkey presentation here. A great game presented in a way that is both professional and charming.
My ego is thinking that I had found this move but my brain is just laughing😑
yep, no yelling works better for me
I love how Levy has ascended to heaven after thr match
Chess board never fails to be featured in GothamChess videos!
Levy in the beginning of video : I'm in hotel i will not scream .
Him after 10:22
How amazing that Marshall's move was also Qg3! These two plus Bobby's Queen sacrifice against Byrne seem to stand head and shoulders above the rest due to their seemingly non forcing character.
amazing game! Thank you Levy!
“Browser based stock fish on a lower depth, which is what most of you operate at.”
Levi’s roasts to the audience always crack me up lol
14:46
16:05 Brilliant move
For anyone that would not watch the entire video.
Levy you need to cover the win of the Bulgarian team, especially the last game it was spectacular
That Levy guy never fails to be featured in Gothamchess videos.
True
“how many 9’s do you want”
Levy - “yes”
Calm demeanor is excellent, no fake laugh is best. The occasional "sacrifices THE ROOK" is at worst great and usually brilliant.
Another vid in which Levy is teaching high level chess for free. Keep them coming!
Btw, I can see that you’re losing your breath trying to make a recap quietly. 😁
That was indeed an amazing move!
I can’t believe that move I’m in shock it’s mind boggling to think how she saw that move in the game
The energy is what makes your channel but I don't mind the more controlled videos at times
I love that Levy uses the first minute of each of his videos to make sure we understand how life changing this video is going to be, it can be the most basic thing in the world, but he will make us believe that this one thing will change the world as we know it. it makes me some what hyped xD. keep up the good work.
I'm dying lol
Levy's eye color is a brilliant move 💀
You don't need to be a poet to appreciate poetry. You know it's a brilliant move because you understand what makes it brilliant. And while you didn't make the move, you shared in it's magnificence by watching the game. You're part of it :)
I like this chill ASMR-like comentary. Not much of ASMR, but it feels good this time
Levy never fails to get held hostage and still record chess videos
Levy never fails to fail at being human
what
Keep up the good work levy.(something different from the clichéd ,"levy never fails to".)
i am so proud of myself right now. i saw the brilliant move!
seems like my chess is getting better by watching all your stuff^^
Stunning chess. Thanks Levy.
Sad to see Levy has been internationally abducted, but glad he is still allowed to make brilliant chess videos for us!
As a Brit I feel he has been internationally adopted temporarily
Levy never dissapoints to get a brilliant title
You are putting so much work, very proud of you Levy. Just remember to take care of your mental health as much as you do of your channel.
Rare non-meme comment
Incredible vision. Also, I like the calmer approach.
Gothamchess never fails to include 99999999999999999 in his videos
As a 2000 rated player finding the in between move is not hard... after you are told that the queen sac is correct.
If Hikaru has not watched this game, we are all keen to see how Hikaru solve this end game as white.
Levi never fails to whisper talk in his London hotel room
Man these thumbnails keep getting worse and worse
pin of shame
PIN OF SHAMEEE

This video titles.. its kinda getting boring at this point tbh
Levy has no choice but to play London now.
I prefer the calm videos, thank you gotham
Först
youre not first, youre third
Lol "but i dont know the ideas, im not a chess pro." That got me
10:20 would be the best moment for me, his overdramatization is the only thing I watch this videos for, chess comes as added benefit to it
I do like the calm format. Also FYI Mr. beast has statistically shown that closed-mouth thumbnails beat open-mouthed for clicks by a big margin.
Levy is a saint who has never clickbaited in his life 😁
Levy:"I саn't really yell too much,because it's late"
Levy later:"Oh,I am so sneaky OOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
When you're not tired and not in a hotel room, we like the agressive yelling gotham :)
calm is better. Your enthusiasm for the game comes through well without the noise.
Levy never fails to upload while being held hostage
This is truly the most brilliant game I've ever seen
Suddenly sacrificing the rook seems simple...
that is definitely the greatest idea i’ve ever seen played over the board
I'm sure that Levy still used Magnus in his thumbnail it's just hiding behind the double exclamations lol
I often play very similar moves. Except in my case it's just a straight-up queen blunder with absolutely no compensation whatsoever.
Levy never fails to being held hostage and ported to london 💀
Levy, I am up and coming. Having fun. I ordered your book today and hope it takes me to promise land thanks for your help bro
15:40 Greatest move
Me who got his first brilliant move from a mouseslip
Hotel room. Right... Praying for your safety, Levy
14:30 Stockfish before the move: These people are still playing on a drawn game and call themselves IMs?
14:40 Stockfish after the move: Now, on the second thought...
Somehow Levy being calm is much more enjoyable imo
