It’s nice that there are all sorts of videos out there explaining high-level techniques and movements, but a video like this is pure gold. It’s a high percentage technique that so many of us think we know, and yet so few of us can actually pull off against a resisting partner of a similar or higher skill level. This should be very helpful. Thank you.
Been training for better part of a decade, mostly no gi. Watched this last week and hit my first cross choke on a higher belt off of a scramble tonight. The forearms/wrist concept was the whole difference (always thought the fabric was responsible for the choke). Thanks!
This video is right on point! I found that I was good at getting into cross choke position but I had a lot of difficulty finishing the choke . Now I realize I was too focused on my lats and I always felt burned out without getting the choke. Thanks coach tom! I love your foot lock videos and I am putting them in my toolbox , g bless.
Awesome Daniel. We are in Adelaide, Australia on the Sothern surf coast (hence the gym name South Coast BJJ). I hope to train with you later in the year. (-: Coach Tom Davey
Wicked man, I'm just getting into it now, I've trained for a couple weeks now in Banff, AB, but I'll definitely check you guys out when I'm in Adelaide!
can you pls explain how to squeez ? Because i think i exhaust myself too much and i hear the high lvl guys talk all the time about squeezing more and more over time or smth like this. i do the counting thing, but thats not the solution

Tips like "Head to the top hand" are really key. Great tip.
You give such good tips that I don't hear from anybody else, your channel rocks.
Very helpful, especially the detail in not tightening the collar with the first grip.
Thanks bro. What a great coach. Guilty of the double row.

Oh man, I tried collar chokes today and I did everything you said not to do. So glad to see this video! Thanks Coach Tom!!
Coach Tom has the smile of a florist. Too deceiving!!
I like the concept of opening the lapel!
Awesome details! I too am guilty of pulling (rowing) with both arms. Thanks coach.
Fantastic pointers!
Thanks. I was always pulling with both arms and never tapping anyone.
This is gold thank youuuu😭😭🔥🔥
Excellent advice as per usual.
I love it coach. Thanks

Pull with the lower hand solely while chocking the neck with the other hand. Then attach your hips to your wrists. (-: Coach Tom Davey
I like rashguards of yours! Can I order one?
These aren't for sale yet. One day maybe! (-: Coach Tom Davey
You weigh 200 pounds? I'd have guessed you were closer to 185-ish
In older videos I was at times 170lbs! 200lb is my current weight at sub 10% bf. Just to keep the wife happy (-: Coach Tom Davey
