Hey thanks, my guy. I got a pothos that was kept in water way too long so I was worried that it would run into problems when I put it into soil. I followed your guide and now it's thriving with new leaf growth!
That’s why I’m here! I actually transplanted mine a couple days ago, but the roots on some were sooo long, and I wanted some reassurance! This video answered all of my questions and left me feeling so much better about my babies’ chance. Also subbed - love this guy’s attitude and knowledge. 💕

Tysm. This video was so thorough and i feel way less intimidated to finally pot my pothos in soil. A friend gave it to me a year or two ago and it has always been in water but i was scared to do anything different because i was still very new to plants. Thanks!
So I've gotten really good at propagating my pothos but then when I transfer them I kill them. So I really needed this video. I don't remember what I did wrong the 1st time but the second time I read that to transition from being in water to soil you have to water them more often, which I know normally is terrible but I tried and they died. I also put them all in separate tiny pots but I see you put them together, and you gave them one good watering, the housewarming lol but then treat them like a normal pothos. So I've been scared to transfer my knew ones bc I don't want them to die but I think this video is going to help me with this next round. I'm gonna put them in one pot give them a housewarming and take care of them like my other pothos. Thank you!!!
I legitimately knew everything you told us in this video but I like seeing plant care spoilers. There's always a chance someone could learn something from it
I recently potted my pathos cuttings and it was about an 80% failure.I took them out and put them back into water to save the ones that are still alive (just 48 hrs ago). Thanks for your video. My mistake was too little of a rooting system and about 40 days in water, not enough time.🌱🌴🌿Thanks

Thank you for this! I was so eager to move my cuttings to soil, but they were little baby roots. Haha so I’ll wait. I appreciate this. It’s exactly what I was searching for.
me too!! I was about to do it then decided to look it up and saw how far along these ones are...will definitely wait a bit longer. awesome video and will come back to it when I'm ready to put mine up
I’ve read a few places that the longer you leave them in water after the roots being a couple inches the harder it is for the plant to take to the soil
Glad I found your 'blog/space' > I've got 3 water-bound 'starts' that I've watering/feeding for years!! Need to get them thriving in their natural habitat - soil! Thanks for your 'splanation on how to! Donato

Appreciate the video man! Watched it before potting my first cutting and it did super well so I just watched again when potting more now. Thanks for the helpful advice!
This is so helpful, thank you!! My friend gave me a pothos (I usually kill everything and she swore they were tough!). I have a couple propagations going - what type of soil do you use when you transfer?
not sure how you managed to make rote instructional content so engaging, but now I’m off to watch your other videos about plant tasks that I don’t even need to do today 😂 subscribed!
Loving your video. I am currently rooting some pathos clippings. Thank you for your help. Beautiful plant looks better with the extra clippings. Where is Bella🐶? Missing her...
Thanks! Good luck with the project, let me know if you have nay questions! And Bella was a bit camera shy, but she promises she'll show her face on the next video :)
How often should you water this plant? Also, does the fertilizer need to be changed every now and then? If so, how often? New to this plant game, thanks for the vid!!
Yo welcome back Fam 🙌 My father in law does a lot of transplanting. Not pothos but usually small trees and flowers. It amazes when they start growing and flourishing again. Dope video!
Loved your video!!! Im having a hard time with my pothos as its turning yellow/brown and dying after repotting. Can you please recommend what soil mix and proportion should i use instead?
Hi Tammy I read that you transplanted your pothos cuttings, how's it going so far? Did they survive? Do u have any tips for going from water to Soil? Thank you!
@@jasmineromero-perez4070 hey jasmine ! The mother plant went through quite a rough mealy bug infestation (I didn’t see them when I unpacked it) so I repotted and transplanted little groups of cuttings into soil in hopes they would strengthen. I ended up placing quite a few together to start reviving a mother plant. (already rooted). This gratefully took off and is now thriving! I gently potted the rooted cuttings with the mother plant in a trailing position and to fill it out when they were healthier and mealy bug free! I later gathered some cuttings from my plant and my sisters as well and placed in water (changing the water every few days and kept it on a shelf attached to my lamp so it was receiving gentle bright light often) Once they were well rooted, I planted the healthy and thriving cuttings with the mother plant (usually before watering) and would give it a good drink so I didn’t shock the roots in dry soil.
@@jasmineromero-perez4070 thank you so much for checking in and for the question ! It’s been an experimental journey, especially with the mealy bugs, nevertheless, I am super grateful and happy that my pothos is now thriving and putting out new growth! If I could recommend anything, I would say to plant the rooted cuttings into either already wet but not soaked soil so the roots are entering a semi-familiar environment or water the soil after planting the cuttings. I have heard people try the method of adding soil directly to the water and build it up until it is potted. Some pothos cuttings have benefited from adding soil directly to the water but for me personally, I would be mindful of potential root rot because it might clog the roots from receiving oxygen, therefore, I suggest to aerate the soil! ( I’m going to have to try this method out for myself to see if it can be an alternative planting option for me.) I like to pot cuttings and mother plants in nursery pots so they can drain excess water when watering and aerate more confidently than the plant being directly potted into a decorative/cover pot with no drainage holes. Keep the cuttings in bright indirect light so they can continue to photosynthesize and encourage and put out new and healthy growth ! Happy planting (:

@jasmine and @tammy , Thank you so much for the discussion! It's INCREDIBLY refreshing and fulfilling to see the community come together and share information! To respond to you, Tammy, the cuttings are doing GREAT! I hung the pot and the vine reached the floor! I hate to cut it back because I was scared of stepping on it, lol.

Thanks for the video but which you’d talk about how to water the plan in the new soil medium. Do you water the same way as an established plant or how?
man i have those 2 sansevierias, one had big leaves already, and the other one was kinda in his shadows, when i repotted them, the big one had way less roots, while the other one got a baby already. classic philosophical stuff right there
Do you suggest bottom watering and keeping the top bone dry? Heard it keeps the fungus gnats away? Also why do you have just one random long vine in the pot?
Mine were in water for a month, had them in soil and leaves started dying so I put them back in water and they started thriving like crazy again, but now they've stopped growing at all. Watching this video to see if I did something wrong before. I'm worried they'll start dying again if I put them in soil a second time.
I recently started propagating cuttings from my Pothos and everything was fine but yesterday I noticed one of the leaves is turning yellow. Do you happen to know what is causing this and how to fix it?? I would appreciate any tips you have for me. Btw love your collection...new subbie! Have a good day :)
@Chicken Grease Ohhh okay, it is a Golden Pothos! I've never seen it that yellow before so I panicked lol 🌿 Thank you for your comment!! 🌱👍 I'll calm down now 🤪 Have a good one 😊
As was said, a bit of "golden" hue is normal in the Golden Pothos! However, if you see significant yellowing (Typical plant yellowing), it may be a sign of insufficient light or root rot. It's hard to give a definitive answer without seeing the actual plant, but I hope this helped! Welcome to the family 🌿💚 And thank you to the previous member of the community for responding 🙏🏽🌿
@@FKA_URBANLOGIC I had it in extreme low light so I figured that was the problem so I moved it to my bedroom windowsill a few days ago, hopefully the poor thing improves. Since the quarantine I have added A LOT more plants to my collection, went from 2 plants to approx. 20 or so...I have an addiction now and I absolutely LOVE it!! I'm so glad I recently found your channel you deserve way more subscribers than you have..not just for the plant vids but I love your positive vibe ones also. I wish you success, happiness and great health :)
I “killed” my golden pothos by planting the cuttings too deep... (they had no roots) so I cut what I could savage and put them in water to try and save them. Now they have roots but I also know you don’t cover their Rhizome like with some aquatic plants and you just cover the roots :| I did the same with my marble queen but I was luckier. That plant managed to forgive me and still manage to give new growth under so much soil. I have dogged up the cuttings and sorted it out so I should have an even happier plant now :) Edit: just thought I would mention I hadn’t any plants before this, just saw some cuttings on eBay and decided to go green lol but now I been doing my research which is also bad for my pockets
The key to everything is experimenting! You're gonna go through some failures and mistakes, but it's through those that we grow and learn as gardeners. I'm glad that you're committed to learning! Best of luck moving forward, and let me know if you have any questions! Much love :)
❤️Love your video very helpful. I have a question i just transferred my cut up Pothos into a pot, now do i keep the soil watered everyday since they are getting use to being in soil? Or just soak for the first day and let them be? I'm sorry! 😔
Thanks for the vid! Quick question…my cutting have hella shoots but NO roots! What happened? Can I still re-plant? They’ve been in water for maybe 2 months-ish.
thanks buddy for the info....I recently transferred golden pothos frm water to soil and after few days all leaves have wilted....nt sure wht to do...any suggestion pls
Hello! Thank you for this video! I have a question, I recently moved my pothos from water to soil but it seems to be wilting. One of the cuttings rotted and the other one is struggling. Any recommendations to help it survive?
Wilting is usually a sign of weak root systems or under watering! Check under the hood, and make sure your watering the soil until it leaves the drainage hole. Also, make sure the pot is an appropriate size!
QUESTION‼️ so i have a pothos with extensive roots that has been in water its whole life. would you suggest the same method in regards to transplanting into soil? or will it be unhappy with the new environment? thanks!!
Hi! Great question. I don't have any definitive answer to that, just an educated guess! I would say that, as long as you introduce it into its new environment correctly, and stick to an adequate watering regimen, it should be able to transition well into soil. You want to take the best care to reduce the 'shock' from the transplant, which would be a more likely culprit of any complication. Give it a nice housewarming into its new home! I hope that this helps!
You mentioned that the more rooted one was “grown in a different environment”. Could you explain what kind it was? In a window sill, in shade, warm, etc.? I have had mine in water for alil while now and mine don’t root as quickly as yours! Thanks!
Hi! Great question! The differences in environment were relatively minor. I had both of them near a west-facing window. The one with the longer roots had more exposure to a slightly brighter light, while the one with the shorter roots was in the shade of another plant, a bit further from the window. Additionally, I was *much* more consistent with the water changes on the jar with longer roots! Other than that, the rest of the conditions were the same. Some cuttings will take a while to root, and that's okay! As long as you keep up with basic care needs, your cuttings will show their gratitude with some fine and well-developed leaves. Not all cuttings are made equal, lol. I hope that this answered your question! Just keep at it! :)
Hi, I moved a set of cuttings from water to soil twice. Each time, the leaves turned yellow then died one by one. As soon as one died, another one started to get yellow. Any thoughts on what's going on or how I can troubleshoot this? I appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks!
Hi! I'm sorry to hear that... There's a few possibilities! It could perhaps be that the roots aren't established enough to transition into soil! It could also be the case that they weren't receiving water often or thoroughly enough. Those are my best guesses! I really hope that was helpful! Let me know if you have any more questions :) I hope they recover well!
Off of my memory, here are a few conditions of those particular cuttings: 1. Consistent water changes once a week. 2. Leaves had more exposure to bright, indirect light. They were very minor differences that made a huge difference!
Thanks for the video! It was very helpful. I can't decide what size of pot I should buy for transferring my cuttings into a pot. How do you decide? Since I am currently not able to go buy the pots in person, I am curious if you happen to know what size your pot is? It is difficult trying to figure out what pots to buy over the internet.
Hi! I'm glad that the video was useful to you! When deciding on the pot, I've gotten pretty good at visualizing the finished product by just holding different sized pots in my hand. I usually have about 20 free pots at-hand, so I have more wiggle room for trial and error. I totally understand why it's tough to decide on a pot without physically holding it... For reference, the pot in this video is 6in! Maybe that can help you size up or down for your purchase. I hope this helped you!
Are you keeping the new plant well damp for a few days, or do you let it start going through its pothos lifestyle, ( to damn near dry) before re watering ?
I typically just let it jump right into it's regular lifestyle! However, for newer transplants, I make sure to keep an eye on them, because they typically require a higher frequency of watering.
I guess I'm lazy and a bit inattentive today, but I couldn't find an answer to my question --- do I need to be careful watering now or give some time between waterings? Just wondering since the pothos has been in water so long whether it needs some sort of "breaking in" to the soil (i.e. does it need more water at first to help acclimate)? Any help anyone can give is much appreciated!! Happy planting. Thnx for the vid.
It's okay to have those kind of days, haha. My advice to you will be to water the soil thoroughly when you first move it to soil, until the water leaves your pot's drainage hole. This is the "house-warming" that's going to help your plants secure itself in it's new home. After this, you're going to allow the first few inches of soil to dry (Do your finger test!), and then you're going to water it thoroughly again. Repeat this process forever and always with your Pothos plant! Newly planted cuttings don't require any special treatment other than consistency; since they're establishing, they can't afford to go too long thirsty. It'll eventually mature until it develops the hardy qualities of a fully realized Pothos. I hope that this helps! :)
I've left my pothos in water for a year. I've finally transplanted into new soil but I'm so scared it's going to suffer a shock. Please can you advise?
Great question! Totally depends on the size of the roots. If there's *just enough* space (Not too much, not too little), then you should be good to go! Thanks for joining the community! 💚✨
Is it normal for the roots to turn brownish and fuzzy? I have been good about changing the water almost every day and using a clean mason jar each time (so I reduce the risk of mold) but the roots still turn brown. I have two glasses of cuttings in different locations and both are that way. Thanks in advance!
Hi! That's an excellent question. While I can't definitively answer that (There's so many possible causes!), I can say that it's *usually* a normal occurrence. The fuzziness can come from root hairs or even mycelium (both beneficial to the plants and its roots). As for the brownish color, as long as it isn't root rot (You can easily tell if you notice yellowing leaves or weak/mushy roots), it's usually also normal. You may even want to gently run your fingers throughout the roots, to see if it's just algae covering the roots (This would sometimes happen to me!). As long as your plant isn't showing any signs of hurting, you should be good to go! I hope that this helps!
So I am a beginner and grabbed a clipping from school.. I've later learned that I should get more than 1 lol... It's been about a month the roots are a nice length... Is it safe to pot?
If the roots are a nice length, than it's definitely safe to pot! Because it's only one cutting, make sure that the pot is an appropriate size (Not too big or not too small)! Please keep me updated -- I'm excited for you and your new plant!!
Hello! Question So I had to repot a pothos that I bought with a terrible fungus gnat infestation... when repotted I watered it, and all of a sudden the leaves started to go soft which tells me I must’ve hurt the roots and they are not getting enough water to the plant? Cause I didn’t overwater...just in case I removed some of the wet soil and added dry soil leaving the rootball with the moist soil, and some leaves are slowly making a recovery but the few that weren’t and still were limp, I clipped and put them in water some with a long root other short root already recovering so well in the water... my question is how long should I wait to repot them back in the soil?
Hi! I'm sorry to hear about your Pothos! I'd advise that you wait until the roots are established (2-3 inches). I don't like to give timelines because every plant grows at a unique rate :) When you finally transplant, ensure that the pot they go into doesn't have too much space! I hope this helped!
I just planted my pothos cuttings into soil yesterday. I had them in water for many months too long so I'm hoping they make it. My maranta too... as my fiance and kitten absolutely murdered the mother plant 😭😭😭
@@cerachaos were your cutting dropping for a few days after you transferred to soil? Mine are droopy buy not yellowing so i'm not sure if the roots are just adjusting or if there isn't enough water
i had new babies in the water but no roots and my water kept getting mildew even if i put a drop of neem, so i clipped the yellow and put them in soil, because they weren’t greening in the water when i propagated them and it had been like 2 months 😢
My pothos has been underwater for quite a few months now, roots have grown but it only has about 10 of them nowhere near as many as yours did however the roots are very long, It has about 8 leaves. I'm not sure if it is ready to be put into dirt yet, or I should wait until it grows many more roots?
Definitely give it some more time to develop a stronger root system! On top of having more roots, make sure that the roots are strong (thick and with length) before transplanting. This gives you the highest chance of success 😊
I’m trying to fix mines, it have been in water for a long time and the roots are brown. Once I transplant it went down hill. What can I do to save it. The leaves are weak??? Someone please help me😢
I have a little golden pothos cutting that is growing roots in a bunch of different spots of the cutting so that’s telling me that I should maybe make more cuttings? Thank you also bc I was panicking about when to repot it since it has a bunch of new roots starting to grow
Hi! There's no need to panic. I would need to see the actual cuttings to give you a definitive answer, but I'd suggest not to divide a cutting anymore than it already is. These roots will come in handy for absorbing water and nutrients in soil!
I've heard that as well! I haven't had personal experience with this, but I generally go by the rule of: When the roots are established, don't waste time transplanting it!
The reality is that the time varies from person to person! For me, I waited a few months before I felt fully confident (And I still wait this long with current propagation projects). But some people like to use rooting powder to promote faster growth! Regardless, just be there for the ride :) Have confidence in your own ability to know when the time is right
The key is making sure that the plants are deep enough to be secure (they don't wiggle around), and that the roots have JUST the right amount of space to grow (not too much, not too little). I hope this helps!

not sure how you managed to make rote instructional content so engaging, but now I’m off to watch your other videos about plant tasks that I don’t even need to do today 😂 subscribed!
😂😂😂 I also find myself in these types of rabbit holes. Thank you for subscribing! More content coming SOON!
Great video! I thought my propagated Pothos might be ready for soil, but compared to your roots, I think mine needs more water time.
All great things take time and patience! I'm excited for your cuttings to continue growing 💚 🙏🏽✨
Same here! Glad I watched this video too. I need to wait a bit longer.
Subscribed! Love to see younger people involved with plants like this. Love the video!
Dope video!
Yo good looks! That sounds dope, glad you have experience watching that process. thanks for welcoming me back bro 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thank you for sharing, I'm going to try this with my pothos. Would love to see how the plant is going now :)
I was worried I’d over watered mine until I saw you put it in the sink lol. Gonna put a LITTLE more water 😅 thank you!
Okay I’m like 30 seconds into this video and I already subscribed! Thank you!!
haha awesome! Thank you for watching, and welcome to the family :)

Loved your video!!! Im having a hard time with my pothos as its turning yellow/brown and dying after repotting. Can you please recommend what soil mix and proportion should i use instead?
Nice. Just moved an N Joy Pothos that I had rooting in my aquarium filter. It's already produced new leaves.
Nice!! I LOVE the 'N Joy! Please keep me updated! 🙏🏽
Also curious: What kind of tank are you running?
ou so exciting ! I just transplanted my thriving marble queen/blend of pothos cuttings yesterday! Update us on how yours is doing ! 💚
I later gathered some cuttings from my plant and my sisters as well and placed in water (changing the water every few days and kept it on a shelf attached to my lamp so it was receiving gentle bright light often)
Once they were well rooted, I planted the healthy and thriving cuttings with the mother plant (usually before watering) and would give it a good drink so I didn’t shock the roots in dry soil.
( I’m going to have to try this method out for myself to see if it can be an alternative planting option for me.)
I like to pot cuttings and mother plants in nursery pots so they can drain excess water when watering and aerate more confidently than the plant being directly potted into a decorative/cover pot with no drainage holes.
Keep the cuttings in bright indirect light so they can continue to photosynthesize and encourage and put out new and healthy growth !
Happy planting (:
@@tammybooysen2685 Wow!! Thank you so much for this information! It's not very often you get a reply to you comment XD. Thank you for explaining how to care for the pothos after transplantation it was really helpful and informative. It's amazing to hear that your pothos is doing well! I hope it continues to be strong and healthy, again thank you so much for your input!!
@jasmine and @tammy ,
Thank you so much for the discussion! It's INCREDIBLY refreshing and fulfilling to see the community come together and share information!
To respond to you, Tammy, the cuttings are doing GREAT! I hung the pot and the vine reached the floor! I hate to cut it back because I was scared of stepping on it, lol.

Getting ready to soil transplant for the first time! Excellent video!
Have a blast with your transplant project! Appreciate and take note of every moment :) Thank you for watching and engaging!
Amazing! Thank you. It looks like a very happy plant.
You are very good! Must be all the love you spread to your plants!
Thanks for the video but which you’d talk about how to water the plan in the new soil medium. Do you water the same way as an established plant or how?
Great info gonna save this for when we got bigger roots baby
Yay!! Glad to hear it was helpful!
Wow loved this video! I just received a pothos plant and I think it’s dying or something. I have no idea but I’m excited to revive it lol
Very glad to hear that! Best of luck with your plant!
Man, playing the Common joint to in the background. Props! (No pun intended)
Haha, you know the vibes. A classic album!
man i have those 2 sansevierias, one had big leaves already, and the other one was kinda in his shadows, when i repotted them, the big one had way less roots, while the other one got a baby already. classic philosophical stuff right there
I loved reading this, lol. Bigger isn't always better!
Awesome! Doing this now with my overgrown Pothos and you helped me. Thank you.
I'm really glad that this video was useful! Best of luck with your project 😁🌿 And thanks for watching!
Coffee and plants. Yes lol
The perfect combo haha
Welcome to the family 🌿💚
And thank you to the previous member of the community for responding 🙏🏽🌿
@@FKA_URBANLOGIC I had it in extreme low light so I figured that was the problem so I moved it to my bedroom windowsill a few days ago, hopefully the poor thing improves. Since the quarantine I have added A LOT more plants to my collection, went from 2 plants to approx. 20 or so...I have an addiction now and I absolutely LOVE it!! I'm so glad I recently found your channel you deserve way more subscribers than you have..not just for the plant vids but I love your positive vibe ones also. I wish you success, happiness and great health :)
I always thought that the chlorine in tap water was bad for plants, it’s best to use rain, distilled or spring water.
Obsessed with your vibe and the way you described the whole process. Fingers crossed for a successful transplant for me! I definitely subscribed :)
That's so cool to hear! Thank you for watching! Please keep me updated on that project... Welcome to the family!
I have dogged up the cuttings and sorted it out so I should have an even happier plant now :)
Edit: just thought I would mention I hadn’t any plants before this, just saw some cuttings on eBay and decided to go green lol but now I been doing my research which is also bad for my pockets
The key to everything is experimenting! You're gonna go through some failures and mistakes, but it's through those that we grow and learn as gardeners. I'm glad that you're committed to learning! Best of luck moving forward, and let me know if you have any questions! Much love :)
Urban Logic thank you so much
Really appreciate it :)))
Very good at explaining what your doing
How amazing! love it, will do this TODAY
Awesome! Best of luck with your project!
How old is that Peace Lily in the background? I have one of my own!:)
I purchased it at around that same size, some I'm not sure! It did end up dying though :( This fertilizer that I tried out burned it.

thanks buddy for the info....I recently transferred golden pothos frm water to soil and after few days all leaves have wilted....nt sure wht to do...any suggestion pls
@@FKA_URBANLOGIC How I know the right size for my plant
The roots should have enough room to grow, but not too much to the point that there's more soil than roots :)
please lose the background music.. too hard to understand you with it
Hi, I moved a set of cuttings from water to soil twice.
@@FKA_URBANLOGIC
Thank you for the quick response. I will water it more frequently and see what happens. Wish me luck!
What were the different conditions/environments during propagation that made the Pothos to the right grow more roots??
Off of my memory, here are a few conditions of those particular cuttings:
1. Consistent water changes once a week.
2. Leaves had more exposure to bright, indirect light.
They were very minor differences that made a huge difference!
what sort of soil do you put them in?
Frankenstein is a good analogy 😂 This guy is gorgeous tho Thank you for sharing ❤️🪴
Haha! My pleasure! 🪴 ❤️
@@FKA_URBANLOGIC This helped so much! Thank you!
I subscribed! Hope I can grow my plant collection like yours!
Awesome! Welcome to the family. Let me know if you have any questions :)
Just subscribed! Would you say 3 cuttings that have rooted could succeed in a 4inch terracotta?
Great question! Totally depends on the size of the roots. If there's *just enough* space (Not too much, not too little), then you should be good to go! Thanks for joining the community! 💚✨
Some people say to put the cutting straight into soil? Any reason you use water?
Good job on this video!
Urban Logic thank you so much! That definitely helps and gave me peace of mind.
Can I just keep my pothos in water? Or is it going to rot over time?
Excellent question! I believe that they'll rot over time. I had some cuttings that went bad after too much time in water.
Urban Logic thank u 😊
I love the mug! Where did you buy it?
Thank you! It was gifted to me wayyyy back, so I'm not sure! But I believe it was from a Walmart, or maybe even a Five Below
Thank u!! I potted it and it's doing perfect 🥰 I love all my plants I think its becoming an obsession lol
I already gave you a thumbs up before you even asked, just because of the superhero mug. :D

Hi! Any update on this project?
@@FKA_URBANLOGIC they took to the soil! ☺
@@cerachaos were your cutting dropping for a few days after you transferred to soil? Mine are droopy buy not yellowing so i'm not sure if the roots are just adjusting or if there isn't enough water
Upload a video on how it looks now
Thanks for sharing, I love watching your videos
That makes me SO happy to hear ❤️ thank you for watching
i had new babies in the water but no roots and my water kept getting mildew even if i put a drop of neem, so i clipped the yellow and put them in soil, because they weren’t greening in the water when i propagated them and it had been like 2 months 😢
Is there a specific type of soil I should use when potting the Pothos cuttings?
Very well explained
Some say if the cuttings have been in water too long, it will have a less chance of surviving/thriving in soil?
I've heard that as well! I haven't had personal experience with this, but I generally go by the rule of: When the roots are established, don't waste time transplanting it!
How long were the cuttings in water? Mine have onl t been in for like 10 days lmfao but I just want an idea of how long I'll be waiting
The reality is that the time varies from person to person! For me, I waited a few months before I felt fully confident (And I still wait this long with current propagation projects). But some people like to use rooting powder to promote faster growth! Regardless, just be there for the ride :) Have confidence in your own ability to know when the time is right
Awesome video thank you!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
How deep should you stick the stems into the soil? Is it okay to bury the node?
The key is making sure that the plants are deep enough to be secure (they don't wiggle around), and that the roots have JUST the right amount of space to grow (not too much, not too little). I hope this helps!
My cuttings have roots that are easily two feet long and have new shoots on the vine. Is it ready?
DEFINITELY ready!
