I understand your concern. Yet, to answer your question, no. The backfill covers the concrete and doesn't mix with it. It insulates if the weather is cold and also provides a nice compression weight. The main reason we back fill immediately is to help hold the columns firmly in place until the concrete can slightly harden
Wondering is there a system for insulating the slab as a shallow foundation? And can a 2x rim de added to the outside so wall insulation can go right to bottom, with a bottom plate to keep critters out
Those plates in this video are attached to our proprietary concrete columns. And I do believe that we aren't able to sell those retail/ out the door, unfortunately. However, I recommend that you contact your local Morton buildings construction office and pose the question to the repair salesperson and they may have a better answer for you. But from what I understand, this stuff is only sold and installed with a complete build package
Unfortunately, you cannot. Each package is customized for your project. Our process involves sales, delivery, construction and a warranty NO ONE ELSE offers. Think of it this way.... Cadillac doesn't allow you to buy a "kit" for you to assemble and still provide a warranty. It's because of our trained crews(and exclusive Morton' materials) that we provide a warranty unmatched in the industry. Hope this answers your question
4-ply 2x12. Damn son that ought to hold it.
Doesn't back-filling the holes right after the concrete is poured around your concrete posts weaken the concrete?

Hi what company does the uplift protection testing and how is it tested? Thanks
Company that does "uplift protection testing"?!?!? Really?! Is that a "thing"?! How about REAL world winds and tornadoes?! Does that count?!
We have a Morton from 71 and the creosote poles are still good. We also have a Lester's and the poles rotted off and the steel color is almost gone.
I sure wish you could use creosote poles today.
@@mattbrown9484 can still get CCA as special order from Menards if you you prefer the old proven treatment.
can we buy those steel plate anchors retail? They look like a more advanced version of Sturdi-Wall.
