It's very difficult to say anything negative about any of Dimitri Bortnikoff's creations, yes, they are that great. Bortnikoff, Ensar Oud, and Areej le'Dore have resurrected the ancient art of perfumery. I'm beyond impressed!

I recently got Lao Oud and Musk Khabib. Loved the animalic quality of Lao Oud however, I couldn't smell anything from Musk Khabib. I felt it just vanished in less than 30 mins. When I purchased online they didn't send me the bottle for over 3 weeks and I got told that they had run out of Musk Khabib and found a last bottle. Not sure whether it was recently made or something because the performance is extreme disappointing.
Great review guys. I've been getting to know Bortnikoff and Russian Adam's creations. Oud Monarch and Musk Khabib may be about the best crafted fragrances by Bortnikoff. Musk Khabib does smell classic. The natural musk is quite prevalent, but the natural ambergris is making an amazing accord with the musk.
Musk Khabib is strong, warm and delicate at the same time! I love it! Thanks for turning me on to it as well as to the glorious creations of M Meleg...
that salty thing is the musk. I live in Thailand and he brought me real musk to smell and to my surprise it's nothing like what I thought. Deer musk is salty and animalic but not in a bad way :)
@@WaftsfromTheLoft if you try again and take a real deep breath you will get a saltiness earthiness animalic smell, not a strong pungent smell but I am sure you get the point. Then you will understand musk like Dimitry does! :) I tried Areej's perfumes and to my nose they are more along the lines of other animalic notes and actually not much deer musk! All amazing though :)
OH NO!!!! You guys did it again...making me broke. I got 6 Bortnikoff samples recently and, for me, Oud Monarch is the hands down most sublime of them all. Its the one I got. The unholy trifecta of Russian Adam, Ensar Oud, and Bortnikoff has literally changed the way I experience fragrance - with these guys, its a transcendent journey into memory and emotion. I agree . I would love a collab with Russian Adam. But none of that horrible cheap nasty Chinese Oud that Adam has been using the past 2 yrs. It’s ruined all of his newest releases. Even my beloved Grandenia, in the deep dry down I can smell the fecal Chinese Oud. I think he can’t get good quality Oud anymore…Bortnikoff and Ensar have bought it all up….lol
My favorite 2 from bortnikoff, masterpiece ,, oud monarch, for me is chocolates wood and leather animalistic / musk khabib for me is like barber shop smell in a fanciest way and I pick up the musk and sweet both are so therapeutic

Hello Gents :) I have a quick question: how does Oud Monarch compare to Areej's Oud Picante? I own the latter and am tempted by the first but am afraid that they might smell similar given the chocolate/gourmand vibe in their notes. Do you think they are both worth owning? I would like your opinion please. If you could only have either own Bortikoffs Oud Monarch OR Oud Maximus which would you choose? (I do own and love Ottoman Empire II if that makes any difference.) Thank you!!
For an important meeting is go for something that isn’t ‘too strong’. Just one or two sprays of Oud monarch might pass. I like Chypre Palatin for an occasion like that.

Great review for Oud Monarch guys!!! Is it barnyard-ish? And do you find it redundant to buy Monarch if you already have ALD fragrances Russian Oud and Oud Luwak? These fragrances are very €$£ 😀 Best regards from Montenegro.
I didn’t find it too barnyardish, actually very wearable. I have russian Oud and expected it do be similar, but in reality it isn’t, and I’m happy to own both.
@@hocineted7594 I am of the thinking that Bortnikoff can be worn in many many occasions. I tend to wear my fragrances casually as well as dressed up. So my answer is you can wear them formally and casually. Of these two I’d say Oud Monarch is a touch more formal and Musk Khabib is more jeans and t shirt. That said I’ve worn high end/formal fragrances with jeans.

Oud maximums is stunning, but I think I find Oud monarch a little more wearable, and really enjoy the chocolatey/boozy/tobacco facets of it
