    Jamie Foxx really needs a biopic of his life, especially recreations of all the stories he talks about in his interviews (Throwing all those house parties, first time meeting Jay Z / Kanye, etc)

    • @EJK2099
      @EJK2099 11 місяців тому +11

      No please. A biopic would make it cheesy and try to add fiction. A documentary like Carlin's recent one would be much better.

    As always, you made an amazing doc. But I just want to highlight how incredible it was the way you were able to take the nugget of his grandma saying classical music will "get you to the other side of the tracks" and use that as the center of your video and tie it in to him winning and earning the record for the academy awards. That was beautiful and got me a little teary eyed. Amazing work.

      I imagine Jamie fox himself hasn't witnessed this documentary yet but if he did he would endorse it. The amount of content you put into a 20 minute documentary is incredible. I've seen a couple now and if this guy died tomorrow ( god forbid) it would be a piece fit for a funeral monologue.
      I am 38 years old but I didnt realise this man had so many feathers to his hat and have a new found respect for Jamie Fox as a role model and inspirational person.
      As for the creator. It doesn't get much better than this.

    As per usual, beautifully done. Providing newly shot footage of key locations is another notch and step up in your craft. Not sure if no sponsor spot for specific reasons, but tonally, leaving this one as is, without any inserted segment really made it land both gentler, and harder.

    Such a beautiful story so beautifully told by the man himself.
    It's hard sometimes to see the opportunity you have. It's hard sometimes to grasp why things happen the way they do. But it gets easier when we have the backing of a good parent, a good teacher, a good friend. Work hard and be patient. Take the initiative and show the gold that lies inside you. Starting from a place of privilege is not needed to succeed, so long as the drive is there in you, and Jamie is a wonderful example of that.
    And thank you again, Dodford, for making these docs that are some of the purest forms of storytelling on here. I can't wait for the next one.
    See you next year 😄

    I have to say your video didn't appear on my suggestions. After all, this is not the type of content that I normally watch, first because I'm portuguese and most of the time i prefer content in portuguese and second because I don't care about actors and Hollywood, I mean, I don't remember the last time I saw a Oscar.
    I came to your content because I was learning about editing, and I have to say, your work is inspiring, beautiful, and a masterpiece. For me, you are a genius. Thank you for your amazing storytelling and editing techniques. You are the man. Keep the great work

The amount of research, the framing and storytelling, your editing--this was amazing. The water works with your doc always catches me by surprise and always at the very end when I least expected. Gah! Love this one as well. Even before he became famous, Jamie was charismatic, well-liked, and full of energy. It's no wonder he rocketed up so fast - he already believed in himself, so it was easy for the world to believe in him. But he couldn't have believed in himself without his grandma who gave him that gift. Wonderful.
