The fact she's not dead or in jail is a real testament to her strength of character. Now I wish she hadn't had to be that strong but she's still clearly a determined woman. Tremendous work once again Daniel!

Wow, having been born in the late 90's, I never realized Drew had such a wild past. Her image as far back as I can remember has always been extremely wholesome, kind spirited and innocent. It's crazy how this history of hers isn't more commonly known today, like Robert Downey Jr. for example. Thanks as always Dodford, for the fresh pop culture insights conveyed through extremely sophisticated mini documentaries.
@@stellviahohenheim It's an insight into a very famous celebrity of the last few decades. Celebrities are a big part of pop culture. What's the confusion?
I honestly feel the same way and I was born in 90 and the partying at clubs and everything else, I never heard about it in depth. I remember some headlines but no details.
Drew’s interview with Brooke Shields was so wonderful to watch because their lives paralleled one another. It’s a shame how this industry chews up young people and spits them out. It’s a miracle Drew and Brooke and other celebs have survived and built healthy lives for themselves.
Wow. I remember the rain clip and that was such an incredibly ending. Got chills. This channel is so much work but so glad you are taking the time you are. Please keep going!
I genuinely love Drew Barrymore so much, she has always seemed to have such a wonderful personality. I also just loving seeing the stories of people that struggled horribly but made it back out, because it's always that cliche of like "if they can do that, I can do this" and like it's said all the time but I genuinely love it.
My Aunt is an MUA in Hollywood and has worked with Drew several times before. She says that while a lot the talent is kind, Drew is an Angel. She’ll go above and beyond for everyone and anyone she could. Sneaking in extra water and snacks for Hair and Makeup while they got her ready. She deserves all the happiness this world can give.
Still wild to me how back in the day teenagers were so openly sexualised by mainstream media, still happens now no doubt. But like its so sickening to see her go through her sex symbol nude photoshoot phase while she was still underage and making out with grown men on screen.
This is a work of art. Narratives, build-ups, hills and valleys. And then the rain. What a way to end. Really enjoyed this, not merely because it conveyed an interesting story. I took it in, as if it was a musical symphony. Bravo.
All i knew about her was from charlies angels and adam sandler's movies. Then i read her autobiography. She is a miracle! The perseverance, the tenacity, the sheet optimism of this woman to turn a nightmare childhood into a peaceful meadow. She is a force to be reckoned with.
“Comfortable in her own skin” is exactly how I would describe her. She can’t do what she did or does now without being an icon of hope and change. People can gravitate towards her, feel her optimism, share her story, and she won’t shy away. Truly amazing.
This was such a tight episode. My god. The script was gold. There was not a single frame wasted here. Wow. Great work dude. This channel is gold. Keep up the hard work.
Also Adam Sandler was a massive help to her I think, he gave her a big part when he was one of the biggest stars around and she was still considered a risk. Something that one guy did for him, that one director gave him a chance when he was a major star but not considered right for drama.
I honestly never knew about her drinking and doing drugs at such a young age. Truly, she is a trailblazer that proves people wrong and shows the world what she’s capable of. An icon.
I've got two young kids and this was hard to watch. I can't imagine putting my own kids through something like this. Amazing video as always, thank you for the hard work!
People in Hollywood are the scum of the earth. If I see an eleven year old girl in a club I'm carrying her home by the ear and I'm beating the shit out of his father when I get there, they just offered her coke...
"Didn't know what was going on" yeah sure these parties known for hard drugs that you've been going to for years before she was even born, yet her mum couldn't have possibly known
It's a miracle Drew isn't a washed-up drug addict or even still with us, let alone thriving, happy, humble & successful. Her life story would make a great movie.

As someone who had recently seen the rain video on TikTok and instagram, it really tied it all together. I love your editing and you inspire me so much. Looking forward to the next documentary 🎉
This was the most beautiful, well done tribute to a beautiful soul. I've loved Drew Barrymore since I saw her in "Ever After" as Danielle (also my name!) as a little girl! That dancing in the rain compilation at the end - WOW
Incredible video! It blows my mind that so many adults were willing to sexualize Drew as a kid, but it’s amazing to see her overcome so much and have longevity.
I feel like this was the path that a lot of young stars have been through with varying levels of success coming out of the other side... It's so sad to see these brilliantly talented, outgoing kids be brought into the circus which is Hollywood with such awful support or protection. Another brilliant insight, amazing work as always!
As a teenager in the late 90s Drew is one of my favorites. Her roles from Ever After on, 50 First Dates, Never Been Kissed are iconic to me in young adulthood. She is such an amazing role model and Im so glad she has chosen to share her vulnerability and strength with us. *omg* I love that ending. Great documentary ❤

Ever AFter was the first Drew Barrymore movie I watched. Used to watch it with my Mom, and it had been so symbolic for me in my childhood. To know it was such an important turning piece and just as important a message for Drew makes it that much more special
I bet she missed being touch by rain as a kid inside the institution and never stop being gratefull for the opportunity. Great video as always and incredibly finnish
What the hell does her mother mean ‘I would go my way and she would go hers’, she’s a child? No wonder they were estranged. As someone born in 2002, the Drew I know was from happily ever after, 50 first dates etc. I never knew she had issues with drugs and alcohol nor the way the industry treated her, this is shocking. I’m so happy she changed her life
6 year old drew Barrymore is fucking adorable, im 19 so I’ve only ever seen/heard adult Barrymore but hearing her voice as a child is so precious, she still sounds like drew Barrymore (especially In the beginning when she says everyone makes mistakes) but she’s got such a baby voice😭😭😭
What a wonderfully honest, candid story. The earliest I remember seeing her was as a toddler in "Altered States". I think my favorite role of hers is as the teacher in "Donnie Darko". I've never seen her show because I'm not home at that time but I know it's a success if she's the host.
This was so beautifully composed! I really appreciate how you made sure to dedicate the vast majority of the video to her perspective. More often than not in biopics there are so many alternative opinions that aren't too relevant, but in this one were just provided for context/ to highlight the way she was preyed upon as well as in some cases (thankfully) heard out. Thank you!!
