Thanks for this video Mate, I’m looking to replace my Merc 8hp 2st nothing wrong with it, just want one with a charging circuit and 4st for ease of petrol. I was tossing up between the Merc 9.8, Tohatsu 9.8, 8, 6 in 212cc (36kg) and then found the smaller lighter 6hp sail pro. Weighing at 25ish KG’s 60lbs? I think I’m sold there! But it looks like you do have the normal prop not the high thrust. The high thrust really have Mickey Mouse ear shaped blades. But thanks for your video, happy sailing!
How many hours between service? Thanks for the video. I have a 2015 and sail in salt water. I used the charging systems but a 25watt panel does the job better but the outboard charging is a good backup.
Nice video, thanks. Looks like they intend us to wire the charging output straight onto the battery. Is this what you do, or do you (/can one) feed it into the solar chargeing controller to prevent overcharging?
Hey Bob: I just bought a Rhodes 22 and am shopping for a motor. The man at the marina where I bought the boat suggested I get a Tohatsu 6 hp like the one you have. I'm interested in how it performs on the Rhodes. Are there any videos in the works on it pushing the Rhodes? I'd like to see how it performs. (or. if not, perhaps you could respond to my comment.)
