I grew up with this song ,first time i saw this movie I saw those kids running around ,and I was 10 again, watched this movie many a time, just because the theme song brought me here. Now its 2024 and its all a memory I cannot access because of what I have learned about Disney. Destroyed childhood, unforgiven times we are heading into
My dads an eagles fan he was a teenager qhen the 70s rolled around he loves this movie im glad he could show me this underated piece of cinemao and even though im a dolphins fan because hes my dad i got a soft spot for phily until the day i die
This track and this opening scene brings tears to my eyes, not just because of the story (which is incredible) But I was a kid in that decade and can relate to the times and mood of the movie. That whole movie was a quick rewind early in my life. Thank you!
LOve this song! my Mum used to listen to Jim Croce heaps and this 70s Philadelphia footage really brought back the spirit of the song for me when I saw this movie
@@chrisgardiner2215 Lungren was from Drexel Hill (a Census Designated Place, P.O., and ZIP Code within the southwestern part of Upper Darby Township). Both he and Croce were graduates of Upper Darby High School (Croce in 1960; Lungren in 1966), along with SNL alum Tina Fey (graduated in 1988).
i love this movie. i relate a lot to Vince Papale, we both played one yr of high school football. we both went to a college that didnt have a football program. and we were both underdogs
It must've been rough growing up in South Philly in the 70s with the workers strike, the Eagles being terrible, and the Flyers being the only bright spot
Greg Kinnear was a dead ringer for vermeil ❤& Peterson for vermeil, sorry, but 2 more years with Peterson wouldn’t have hurt, for christs sakes the got us our first SB 😭
This movie is one of the best Philadelphia underdog movies of all time. 😉
One of the best intros to a movie
Those were the days the year of 2000s
Miracle was a good one as well
